This quest begins with Lokoreem ( http://www.wowhead.com/?npc=19052 ) In Shattrath, for Horde at least. It is one single quest (Master of Elixirs http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=10902 ), no prerequisite quests.

You can still change your mind on which mastery you want if you have completed this quest but not part two.

All you do is decline part two and take Master of Transmutation (part 2) to become Transmutation Master or Master of Potions (part 2) to become Potion Master from the relevant NPCs.

so in a case of wanting to switch from transmute to elixirs who would the relevant NPC be? do you have to go to the one that taught u to drop it or what?

This quest is being removed in patch 4.3 and replaced with a version that requires Cataclysm level flasks to complete. Get this done ASAP while it's still easy and cheap!
