Shadowlands Adventure Missions - Continued Balancing Problems for Kyrian and Venthyr Covenants

Shadowlands is in full swing, and despite initial concerns over covenants, all have been fairly well represented in every major aspect of gameplay. One area where they are most decidedly not equal, however, are the Command Table Missions, as players express continual concerns over the inability for Kyrian and Venthyr covenants to keep up with their Night Fae and Necrolord counterparts.
Even since Blizzard implemented a hotfix for a static level 20 Soul Ash mission, to allow players to over level their heroes in order to beat it easier, members of the Kyrian and Venthyr covenants have had trouble completing them.
It's certainly possible
, but the amount of effort required feels significantly higher
than for others
, and appropriate level campaign missions can feel continually out of reach due to their level scaling. Some players have turned to the mission assistant addon
Venture Plan
to help avoid wasting 10-24 hour long failed missions (as well as the resulting time or anima spent healing their heroes), but the helper unfortunately doesn't account for special abilities, which play a significant role in the difference between success and failure.
To be fair, I was peeking at General Draven with the Venthyr, and he looks pretty strong. A tank that (supposedly) reduces all damage received by your party by 20%.
Yeah but you can only have one of him and I'm not sure what the cooldown is. Night fae get basically the same ability but on troops that can stack and reduce damage by 80% every other turn. There's just clearly a balance issue when Venthyr need lvl 30 to maybe beat a lvl 20 mission and night fae can do lvl 60 missions with lvl 20s.
Plus we won't get Draven for a while (need to finish the whole covenant campaign), and he'll be lvl 1 so it will take a long time to even get him up to lvl 20-30
Another sticking points is the continued belief that
missions will be balanced once the full 19 hero roster is unlocked
, but the continual need to re-level new champions from level one makes it a painful process - even worse as it re-averages the level of your basic troops back down as a result.

Any plans to improve the UI for the Mission Table or balance some of the Covenant followers?
Yes on all counts. A lot of the adventurers testing that was done was using a wider range of unlocks. A miss was not paying enough attention to the week 2 and week 3 experience and the order in which you unlock things. In the long run things should balance out, but people don't care about the long run.
Some of the missions scale with your level like Soul Ash missions, that doesn't feel great. They are talking about changing it to be static mission levels: a system like a level 20 mission and once you beat that you unlock say a level 30 mission that awards more Soul Ash.
This perfectly encapsulates the problem players are facing with missions. While it seems ideal to have unique heroes and abilities for each covenant, some have a wide variety of useful skills, while others are severely lacking. Likewise, missions
may
very well end up balanced in the long run, but the fear is that players will have already upgraded their legendaries and won't have a reason to prioritize things like Soul Ash by the time that eventuality comes to pass. Worse still are the players who have already given up on missions entirely, causing their troops to fall behind in levels to the point where new and higher level missions that end up being introduced will still be out of their reach - even if they do eventually obtain the characters necessary to overcome them. Some players are already
collecting mounts from the higher tier missions
, though it feels as though those missions will be completely out of reach for Kyrian and Venthyr players until this disparity is addressed.
