New Prideful Mythic+ Seasonal Affix Speculation - Single Target Reaping?
29/07/2020 alle 17:54
A new Mythic Keystone Affix was added in the data for this build called
. It's likely that this is the new Seasonal Affix and some spells have been found that may indicate how the affix works.
From the speculated spell data, you'll be able to buff an add with your "Pride", then detonate it on a group of enemies for damage!
This is a speculation post and anything can change before the affix goes live.
- Defeating non-boss enemies fills players with Pride, eventually forming a Manifestation of Pride that they must defeat.
From the tooltip, this sounds a little bit like the
affix where you killed trash and eventually, you had to deal with additional trash mobs.
Prideful Spell Details
In the data, the first spell that seems to relate is
, which means that you become more prideful when you kill non-boss enemies. Interestingly, this has a 20 second duration.
- Players become increasingly prideful as they defeat additional enemies.
is the second datamined spell, which is almost certainly cast by an enemy, that absorbs all Pride from players, increasing its health and damage per Pride absorbed.
- Absorb all Pride from players, increasing health by 100% and damage by 25% per Pride absorbed. Explodes on death, inflicting 100% of max health as Shadow damage split among everything within 8 yds.
This last line is the
spell, which means the more pride that you have (and is absorbed), the more damage that it'll deal when it dies. Note that this has a 4 second cast time and only an 8 yd range.
However, this tooltip notes that the Manifestation deals damage to
, not just players.
- The Manifestation explodes on death, inflicting 100% of max health as Shadow damage split among everything within 8 yds.
There are also some other Manifestation of Pride spell IDs, but these are hard to get any info from:

There are currently two models for the Manifestation of Pride:
Speculation Conclusion & Summary
My speculation for this affix is as follows.
Killing trash while the
will debuff players with Pride. This likely stacks. Pride seems to have a duration of 20 seconds and when it falls off, it could summon a
. Alternatively, if the duration of 20 seconds is not what summons the
, then it could be based on Enemy Forces count (like Reaping), time or something else. The
would consume all the stacks of Pride on the party, gaining a large amount of Health and damage depending on the amount of stacks that were consumed. When it dies, it starts a 4 second cast that your group probably wants to run out BUT you want to keep the enemies in. More Pride stacks = more damage.
This does mean that at minimum, the affix will be neutral for outgoing DPS, as any damage put into the add will be redistributed when it dies. If anything, it'll be slightly more efficient as you can AoE the Manifestation with another pack and don't just have to kill it single target.
Unfortunately, I think the
is going to do more than melee and blow up on death. It'll probably have some other abilities as well, but it's hard to predict what those would be but I think Blizzard has learned from the "only Curse" of Beguilling and the Kiss/Curse of Awakened. This is both something that you'll have to deal with, but you also get some benefit of it.
Either way, due to the Pride mechanic, you will probably be able to choose the size of add that you can handle and it'll create some interesting decisions with routing. You will be able to pull larger or smaller and decide when exactly you want to deal with the Manifestation of Pride, and what you want to detonate it on top of. There is of course the concern that popped up during Reaping -- will you be able to Shadowmeld off the Manifestation of Pride and just ignore it? Will this even be beneficial?
Maybe you'll be able to have your Manifestation of Pride follow you around the entire instance soaking up Pride and becoming a massive thing that you can detonate on the last boss (if you manage to survive). That would be cool.
Prideful is subject to change at any point but what do you think of Prideful from what we've seen?
