The Sepulcher of the First Ones Race to World First starts today, with several guilds hosting events and live streaming their progress to become their first to take down the Jailer Zovaal! Who will become the final World Champions of Shadowlands?
Sanctum of Domination winner Echo
stands as the front runner, fairing stiff competition from the newly branded Team Liquid (formerly Complexity-Limit), though several well established guilds will be vying for world rankings. Wowhead is officially sponsoring Team Liquid with raid graphics, though we're here to highlight everyone, with Mythic raid guides from BDGG and daily video recaps courtesy of Tettles and Dratnos! To help keep track of it all, we've put together a list of the top guild and community hosted events, coverage, casters, charity fundraisers, and more.
Wowhead Coverage
As usual, we will be providing our own coverage of the race, with frequent articles highlighting first kills, group compositions, hotfixes, strategies, and any surprises along the way. As a part of our coverage, we'll also be consolidating information from across the web, including all the different streams, as well as compositional information from Raider.io and WarcraftLogs, so be sure to check our recaps each day to see how the race progresses!

North American Guilds
Team Liquid
Formerly known as Complexity-Limit, Team Liquid will be putting on
its biggest race event ever
, with 28 raiders and 11 casters on-location at the Helix eSports center in Foxoborough, Massachusetts. Bracketed by two daily talk shows, they'll be streaming progression, hosting Q&A sessions, player highlights, and holding daily giveaways, all while supporting the charitable organization
Girls Who Code
with fun and hilarious incentives.
Big Dumb Golden Guardians
The Big Dumb Guild branch of the Golden Guardians family has always leaned into the more comical elements, proving themselves to be equally entertaining and competitive throughout the world race. Joined by twelve community casters, including Wowhead's own Squishei, they'll be streaming full uninterrupted guild comms, nerd screams, and the spiciest of memes! This tier, they'll be supporting
Rise Above the Disorder
to raise money and awareness for mental health.
European Guilds
Echo
Making their Race to World First debut and a strong second place finish in Castle Nathria, Echo followed up with a victory in Sanctum of Domination, proving themselves a force to be reckoned with. This tier, they'll have fourteen raiders and six casters
in-person at the RCADIA
in Hamburg, Germany, where they'll be hosting guild meet & greets and a blowout party to celebrate the end of the race. Throughout the event, they'll also be supporting
Rise Above the Disorder
, sacrificing their own raiders for charity!
Method
Holding the record for the most number of World Firsts in WoW history, Method pioneered the public Race to World First and refuses to quit! They've promised entertaining on-stream shenanigans and prizes in their
"for the community, by the community"
event, as well as a
specular half-time show
in collaboration with Warcraft musical sensation
Jay the Bard
. To close out Shadowlands, they'll be supporting
Safe in Our World
, a charitable organization which specializes in raising mental health awareness within the video game industry.
Pieces
Partnering with SK Gaming, Pieces will have eight raiders and three casters streaming live from the Magenta LEC facility in Berlin. Joined by another fifteen remote casters and the rest of their guild, they'll be streaming on the
SK Gaming twitch channel
from 8am to midnight CET, with replays throughout each night. This tier, they'll be supporting the German charity
Kindernothilfe
, which supports nearly 2 million children around the globe with education, health care, and community support.
Aversion
The German guild Aversion has ranked in the top 10 for every raid since Crucible of Storms, and will seek to continue that trend in Sepulcher with their own event at the Esport Arcade Studio. Joined by six casters, they always put on a great show, although as per usual their coverage is planned to be completely in German.
Chinese Guilds
Chinese guilds are often overlooked by western audiences, but have been a major part of the Race to World First for many years, with frequent top 10 finishers. Unfortunately, we don't have promotional materials for them, but we do have links to their streams on Douyu and Huya!
佶天鸿 (JiTianHong)
JTH
has a lengthy pedigree, having achieved top ten in every raid since Legion, a streak which was broken with an unfortunate 14th place finish in Sanctum of Domination - though there's no doubt they'll be looking to prove that a just a hiccup in an otherwise outstanding raiding career.
Watch JTH stream on Huya
天涯 (Skyline)
Skyline
is one of the most well established Chinese raiding guild, with top 10 finishes throughout Battle for Azeroth and Shadowlands, including 5th in Castle Nathria and 10th in Sanctum of Domination.
Watch Skyline stream on Douyu
阿尔法 (Alpha)
Alpha
finished very high in Battle for Azeroth, with a world 3rd ranking for Dazar'alor, Crucible of Storms, and The Eternal Palace, followed by 6th place in Ny'alotha. Shadowlands proved more difficult however, dropping to 14th in Nathria though we suspect they will continue to make themselves a competitor going forward.
Watch Alpha stream on on Huya
Aster
Aster
, the
esports organization
known primarily for Dota 2, joined the Race to World First in Sanctum of Domination, bringing together players from Alpha, JTH, Skyline, and other Chinese guilds to finish 7th place - not bad for a brand new guild!

Raider.io
As per usual,
Raider.io
will also be posting their own coverage of the Race to World First, with analytical articles, opinion pieces, lore summaries, and guild spotlights, as well as their handsome embeds helping keep track of each guild's ranking and progression.
Read on at Raider.io
Warcraft Logs
World of Warcraft analytics website Warcraft Logs has also stepped up its game, taking a deeper dive into the damage, healing, and death statistics to give readers greater insight into the race. Additionally, their
Competition Mode
progress board has returned to show encounter progress, pull counts, and the latest victories, updated automatically every 30 seconds.
Dive into Analytics on Warcraft Logs
Of course, several other guilds who have not announced official events will still be competing in the race to world first, and if there's anything we've learned in these events it's that you never know who might pull ahead unexpectedly! Be sure to check out our coverage over the coming week, as we watch to find out who will become the ultimate world champions of
Shadowlands
