With the weekly reset, the Mage Tower is now open permanently!
Mage Tower Timewalking Guide
The Mage Tower Challenge is back permanently. Unlike in Legion, the challenge is now a Timewalking Challenge, being relevant to players regardless of their max level. Players level 50 and higher can attempt to defeat the challenge.
In order to keep its difficulty, many expansion borrowed power systems like Covenants, Heart of Azeroth, Essences,
Tier Sets

Completing the Mage Tower Challenge rewards a new exclusive tint of the Tomb of Sargeras Mythic set for each class you complete it on.
Besides the transmog, completing each of the different challenges once, which require different characters, grants the

mount. Players looking for more can also complete the Mage Tower Challenge with every spec to complete the

achievement.
Guardian Druids who complete the challenge, besides receiving the Druid T20 Transmog tint, will also unlock a new Fel Werebear form for their Bear Form!

Mage Tower Advanced Gearing Guides
The Mage Tower Challenge will be the first Timewalking solo challenge in the game. During it, players will be scaled down to level 45, while all gear above item level 50 will be scaled down to item level 50.
These details create a lot of different opportunities to gear up for the challenge. While it is possible to complete the Mage Tower Challenge using your normal Shadowlands gear, you can increase your power significantly by using different pieces of gear, consumables, and enchants from different expansions.
