Season 1 of Mythic+ starts tomorrow with the Infested Affix and we've detailed everything you need to know for the start of the season tomorrow! We've updated our
Mythic+ Guide
for Battle for Azeroth to include updated loot tables, details on the Infested Affix, dungeon timers and more!
We've also released an
Infested Strategy Guide
with details on how to handle the affix including using Crowd Control or Focus Fire.

Changes from Legion
The Mythic+ system includes a large number of changes from Legion. Some were tuning changes to the affixes, while others were to the system itself.
No Farming for Azerite Armor
The Azerite Armor pieces (Helm, Chest, Shoulders) are
NOT
able to drop from end of dungeon rewards and only from the Weekly Challenger Chests. Azerite Armor that is item level 340 or above can only come from content that is non-repeatable. As Keystones no longer deplete, Mythic+ is a repeatable system and cannot drop Azerite Armor.
However, the Weekly Challenger's Chest can drop Azerite Armor.
Weekly Challenger's Chest
The Weekly Challenger's Chest can now contain
up to 3
items. The number of items is completely random! As you can't farm Mythic+ for Azerite Armor and Weapons can't Titanforge, hope for a Weapon or Azerite Armor (or multiple) from your Weekly Chest!
One week, you could get a single ring, while another week you could get a weapon, and two Azerite pieces!
Edit:
at some point in the beta this was stealth changed! This is not how it works on live servers at all. You will get
ONE
piece from the Weekly chest, and it's random whether it's a regular piece of gear or Azerite.
No Gear Swaps
No Gear swaps are allowed inside an active Mythic+ dungeon. In order to swap gear, you either have to zone out, or finish the dungeon.
You'll have to think ahead to choose the best set of Azerite Armor, trinkets and talents before you begin the keystone!
Bonus Roll a Mythic+ Dungeon
You're now able to Bonus Roll a Mythic+ dungeon! This gives you an additional chance to get a random reward from the specific dungeon and Keystone level you just completed.
In Battle for Azeroth, you'll only get 2 Bonus Rolls per week, so use them wisely!
Affix Changes
Blizzard has changed when certain affixes occur on Keystones, and retuned certained affixes to account for increased or decreased player power.
Tirannia
or
Potenziamento
will be present on every keystone, as they are now Level 2 affixes.
For Season 1, the Season 1 Affix of
Infestazione
will be present on every Keystone Level 10 and above. Find out more about the
Infested Affix and how to handle it.
Affix Tuning Changes:
Ferita Necrotica
has been reduced from 3% per stack to 2% per stack.
Rabbia
can be removed using an enrage removal such as
Pacificazione
from Druids or
from Hunters.
Ferita Atroce
was nerfed from 2% per stack to 1.3% per stack.
Detonazione
orbs are now Red instead of Green and named "Explosive" instead of "Fel Explosive"
Esplosione
appears to be nerfed to ~7.5%, down from 10%, over 4 seconds, per stack. This value is unconfirmed and untested.
Due to the way Battle for Azeroth's dungeons are tuned,
Potenziamento
is generally much more difficult than
Tirannia
, which is the complete opposite the way it was in Legion.
Loot Item Levels
Assuming the Mythic+ system works similar to the way that it worked in Legion, the maximum
base
item level for the week of September 4th will be 355. Items can still Warforge and Titanforge up to the maximum cap of 400.
This means that for Week 1, you'll want to
complete a single Keystone Level 10
, and then
speed run Keystone Level +5 afterwards
as the difference between a +5 and a +10 for this week is non-existent.

When you aim to complete your Weekly +10, you'll encounter the Season 1 Affix of
Infestazione
.
Infestazione
makes certain mobs in the dungeon infested with a
Simbionte di G'huun
.
This buff is visible on the nameplate of the enemy and causes the NPC to appear larger and have a grey aura coming off of them.
Any other mobs within 8 yards will have
Sangue Rigenerativo
applied to them, causing them to heal for 10% of their max health every 3 seconds.
When the Infested
Simbionte di G'huun
mob is dead, two
Prole di G'huun
will spawn nearby and will run towards the nearest non-boss NPC.
Once it reaches its target, it will cast
Infestazione
, an
uninterruptable
1 second cast that can only be stopped using Hard CC.
If the
Prole di G'huun
successfully casts
, it will infest the target with
Simbionte di G'huun
starting the cycle all over again.
