Patch 10.1.5 Frost Mage Guide
Frost Mages received a major rework in 10.1.5. Many of the specializations long term design problems have been addressed. Most importantly,

now interacts with most Frost Mage spells and many talents have been redesigned so that the specialization cannot achieve 100% uptime of
Vene Gelide
anymore, which was previously required to perform well numerically. Finally, the class tree changes provide significantly improved defensive power and utility. A few highlights of the implications of the rework include:
Active talents such as
Aculeo Glaciale
,
Raggio di Gelo
, and
Tempesta di Comete
are no longer weak and will see a lot of use.
Frost Mages now have a more bursty damage profile around
Vene Gelide
that will fit better in many encounters.
The specialization is much less punishing to play because mistakes do not result in losing 100% Icy Veins uptime anymore.

, Frost's burst AoE and small-scale AoE are significantly stronger and more engaging.
Freddo Come il Ghiaccio
is an incredibly strong defensive replacement for

that greatly increases a Frost Mage's ability to effectively deal damage while still surviving dangerous bursts of damage and will see widespread usage throughout endgame content.
