For collectors out there, here's a trick to create a TSM group of transmogs that are both uncollected
and craftable. (Because most items are cheaper to craft than to buy.) I've seen this asked about before, and figured I would share:
Log into Wowhead, lookup your characters. You want at least four characters that can collect each armor & weapon type: https://www.wowhead.com/list- Get each character verified and pinned to your Wowhead profile:
- Get the Wowhead addon and uploader.
- Log into the same four characters so Wowhead can collect appearance data.
- Upload data to Wowhead.
Once the data is uploaded to Wowhead, you should see check marks on item pages indicating if the appearance is collected:
(If you already have this set up on Wowhead, ensure you've done steps 4 & 5 above recently so that the data is current.)
After you confirm you're seeing the check marks:
Go to this page*: https://www.wowhead.com/items?filter=86:178:2:99;11:1:2:12;0:0:0:0- Click on the Filter icon, select "Completion" from the drop down, and enter "Completion = 0"
- Click the Copy button next to the Filter button. Select ID from the drop down:
- Open Notepad or similar program, and paste the list of IDs you copied.
- Use Find & Replace to remove all spaces.
- Select all > Copy.
- Open WoW and TSM.
- Import group > Paste the list of IDs. Import Group.
You now have a TSM group of transmogs that are both uncollected and craftable.*
From here, I recommend:
Set up a TSM shopping operation, max auction price = 80% crafting (or whatever string you like). Assign it to the new group.- Shop on the group. Buy items below your threshold, since you probably can't craft them for cheaper.
- Remove the items you bought from the TSM group.
- Set up a crafting operation to create 1 of each item in the group.
- Craft the items, collect the transmogs!
*The list created by the Wowhead filters do NOT include items that are 1) BoP or 2) have a profession requirement, such as engineering goggles. I intentionally left these items out since you wouldn't want your blacksmith crafting BoP mail armor if they can't equip it, for example. And if you don't have a cloth engineer you wouldn't want to craft cloth, engineer-only googles.
For hardcore collectors, this only creates a list of uncollected appearances, not uncollected appearance sources.
You can play around with Wowhead filters to tailor the BoP and profession-specific gear to your characters' armor types, export the IDs and create a separate TSM group for those using the same steps above. You can also remove the "Crafted by a profession filter" to create a TSM list with ALL uncollected appearances, but Wowhead may cut off the list at 1000 items.
