ArtStation Magazine
recently published an Art Blast focused on the visuals for
Eternity's End
. The piece featured several Blizzard artists focusing on their particular specialty. We thought we'd take a look at the work that each artist does for World of Warcraft and their featured artwork.
Amber Hill was featured as an Environment Artist.
Environment Artist
Environment Artists create the setting for the zone. In Zereth Mortis this includes the rocks, dirt, plants, roads, monuments, and all the other static pieces that make up the zone.
Hill worked on some of the flora of Zereth Mortis, taking a concept and creating the plant in all of its forms, bringing it to life.
Zereth Mortis Water Lilies
These lilies were definitely my favorite thing to make for Shadowlands! Originally concepted by Gabe Gonzalez, I got the opportunity to take these to 3D. Figuring out the colors and what interesting shapes to make out of these was really fun, and when making the variants, it was cool to think about what the life cycle of these otherworldly plants might be.

Zereth Mortis Flowers
Some strange, geometric looking flowers I got to make for Zereth Mortis! These were a blast to paint. Originally concepted by Gabe Gonzalez, I got the opportunity to take these to 3D and problem solve what they could look like in game!
— Amber Hill
Hill's work for World of Warcraft also includes some very familiar Shadowlands herb and mining nodes.
You can see more of Amber Hill's work, including more herb nodes, at
