While this is the Mist of Pandaria version of the belt buckle, I think it will end up costing a bit more than previous belts did. As it stands, there are two ways to make Acciaio Vivente:

Trasmutazione: Acciaio Vivente, requiring 6 Lingotto di Trillio
Segreti dell'Acciaio, requiring 3 Lingotto di Trillio and 3 Spirito dell'Armonia

Basically a non-active player can make one Acciaio Vivente day, and and active player can make as many as his Spirito dell'Armonia stockpile allows; however, the materials for the Lingotto di Trillio are possibly a bit more onerous:

Trasmutazione: Lingotto di Trillio, requires 10 Lingotto di Ectoferro. Basically convert a full stack of Minerale di Ectoferro into a single Trillium bar. This transmute doesn't explicitly state that it uses the daily cooldown, but the Trasmutazione: Lingotto di Pirio certainly does in Cataclysm. Edit - Trasmutazione: Lingotto di Trillio does NOT have a cooldown.
Fondi Trillio, requires 2 Minerale di Trillio Bianco and 2 Minerale di Trillio Nero.

So, depending on what type of ores you have available, you could be limited to making one a week if going all ghost iron ore route (7 stacks makes a single belt buckle), or one whenever you want with 6 of both types of trillium ore and 3 spirits of harmony.

I wonder why blacksmiths has no cheap way to make a socket on their own belt, equivalent to how leatherworkers can make this on their own legs. Or am i missing something?

Since no one has mentioned it yet, it seems that currently if you use this item on a belt that has been transmogrified, it will lose it's transmogrification and you will have to go and transmog it again... this happened to me today when i first used this item on a belt

it's not a big deal i guess but certainly it is a glitch

Only works on items above ilvl 375.

Used this buckle on Girdle of Endemic Anger today and this gave me no problems (item level of Belt 410). However in order to socket a mop gem it required a lvl 417 belt or above. So I had to instead use a cataclysm gem in this more expensive buckle.

So make sure you only use on a belt of ilvl 417+

better to use the Ebonsteel Belt Buckle if lower than 417.

Just picked up a new belt from the Timeless Isle and when I try and add it I get an error saying that 'this item cannot recieve additional sockets". Anyone seen this before? Have a ticket open but they're as good as useless (delete temp files!).

This is usable in addition to Eng. tinker mods to belts. This might be inherent info to some. but I did not find any postings mentioning it.

Why is it that Tailors can do their leg enchants on their own items for near free, but blacksmiths still have to use the same belt buckle as everyone else?

I'm yet to meet a BS that was actually willing to craft these with my mats + tip, even for personal use. Looks like this is the easy money route for them. Pretty sad really.

Just in case you are sparkly and unique like me; no, you can't put any of the WOD taladite crystals in this. Taladites go in ilvl 600+ slots.

This will fit on any belt buckle under ilvl 600 -- ilvl 599 and below.

This will take the MOP gems that require ilvl 417 and above, such as Rubino Primordiale Ardito, the ones that are rendered useless in WOD after ilvl 600.

Belt buckles are currently broken in patch 7.03

Resetting interface does not help the standard UI is broken and you can't socket anything into the extra socket from the buckle.

The moment you shift click the belt, it will become stuck and can't be moved. Either /reload or /run CloseSocketInfo() to fix it.

I reported it as a bug, but it is already a known issue according to GM and will be fixed in an upcoming patch.

So honest question... Since this item works on items below 600 iLvL... does that mean this is current content and these should be selling like crazy right now?

EDIT: They fixed it, but not the text, so people are still thinking it does. And jerks are taking advantage of that and selling them in trade chat. So the item is now scaled properly but the text won't be fixed until a patch.

In case anyone was wondering about using this buckle for Timewalking Mage Tower gear, the actual item level restriction is "Cannot use an any item higher than 49".

As of 10.2.6 it states that it cannot be applied to items level 320 or higher, and I was able to add this to my iLevel 291 legendary Shadowlands level 60 belt. And socket it.
I could not also add one of the two other buckles to it, but I guess they would've worked individually on their own as well (Fibbia d'Ebanacciaio and Fibbia Eterna).
