I learned this recipe from an ominously floating "Alchemy Scroll" on the bridge to the entrance of "The Temple of the Jade Serpent". I assume special recipes like this one are learned from similar floating scrolls?

EDIT: Scroll respawns in the same spot all the time. my guess 10-20 minutes. Can not learn a different recipe from the same scroll because it can not be interacted with more than once.

I've wasted almost an hour going up and down that damn path looking/waiting for the scroll to appear. This discovery thing is a STUPID idea. Let me repeat that for the hearing impaired (ie: Blizzard) discovery is a STUPID STUPID idea.

I agree. What, the only way to become an elixer master is to wait on a bridge for perhaps hours on end, only to come back from having to pee and discovering some other jerk got there before you? Not good, Blizzard. NOT GOOD!

Here is a different way of getting the darn recipe: after waiting for over a half hour in front of the bridge waiting for the scroll to appear, I decided to start manufacturing some master mana potions with the huge amount of green tea leaves i had farmed, and after the 6th potion, I learned the recipe - just from making the potions!
