As of 4.3, this is a reward for doing the Daily Group quest Che cattivone.../Che cattivone...to loot presents after killing the Greench, or talking to metzen right after. Grumolo has a chance to be contained in this present. The Greench is now a Holiday World Boss, just not in an instance, hence the Daily quest and not a LFD queue.

Edit: As others have said, other pets and toys can be contained within this present, as well as 24 Justice Points if you are not capped.

I was able to complete this quest this morning when the festival begun just by talking to Metzen and looting the Stolen Treats from the bags around the cave. I was alone and not in a group. My first thought was maybe someone killed the Greench already. Will have to see what happens!

EDIT:

So it seems the boss is a level ? "world boss" with 3.5 mil hp, and anyone can help killing without grouping up. After it's dead, you can loot the treats and save Metzen, even if you weren't there to kill it!

The boss is located in Hillsbrad Foothills (43,39)

The "Stolen Treats" are lootable only if the boss is defeated.

You don't need to be in the group for the kill to be able to loot it.

Also talk to Metzen to free him.

I just looted the quest item from the cave when someone else had killed the boss and delivered the quest. An an Epic quality dagger dropped from the Stolen Present Container!

The Greench is easily killable if you have a healer, I just did it on my 85 rogue with a shaman healer. No problems at all.

Alright as far as not getting the achievement from getting the "Clockwork Rocket Bot" check your robot very carefully, if it has a colour like " " it won't give you the achievement because the original Clockwork Rocket Bot doesn't have a colour to it, just plain old .

I really hope this helps lol had to make an account to post it, good luck.

On the other hand, if you have your plain one and want the blue one anyways you can buy it from the toy makers in Dalaran, Stormwind, and Orgrimmar.

P.S. You can buy the Red Rider Air Rifle from the toy makers too ^.^

I don't know how this can be true since I have received the blue and green versions and neither would let me loot from present. I had both in my bank which were purchased from the shop.

Going to be so disappointed if I don't get the Clockwork Rocket Bot since I already have the other 3 feats of strength / winter veil gifts on my main character. My luck is always terrible for stuff like this. :(

This holiday reward is another true example of terrible RNG by Blizzard...I've had the Rocket Bot since 07' and was awarded it 4 more times from doing the Winter Veil daily. No Lump of Coal. Thanks Blizz.

What is the frequency that wowhead update the database? I got a Crashin Thrashin racer from one of these, and want to see what the apparent drop rate is... to see if I had bad luck not getting Lump of Coal or just mega bad luck for getting a drop item less than 3%...

Just got both MiniZep Controller and Wind-Up Train Wrecker in one package. And I already have them (even payed 200g for the Wrecker when bought it from NPC long ago). And they are soulbound, so have to just vendor them.

I think BoP toys should also have some mechanism of being sold, like caging of pets.
