Wowhead currently says the item restores 7500 - 12500 health, but the one I just pickpocketed says it restores a flat 12000 health.

I actually came here to see if anyone could clear this up... the first one I got said it'd heal 10000 health, I just pickpocketed another one in Hyjal and it says it heals 11000. Thoughts?

The potion does 18900-23100 (or 22680-27720 with 2/2 Rapidità di Movimento). If it's showing a single value you've got average values turned on (Interface>Display>Display points as average).

Rogues used to get "standard" healing potions from pick-pocketing (and from junkboxes) up to WotLK. This provided a handy stream of life-saving potions for those rogues who tend to get into trouble too often.
But it was also viable to farm them to sell (top-level pots have always been in high demand).
Now, on Cataclysm, we get the potion drops replaced by this. It heals exactly the same amount (actually, range) than cataclysm "normal" potions, but it is BoP, so it's for self-use only. As a side note, it also vendors for the same price as standard potions.

In summary, for those who just used the pick-pocketed pots for themselves, this is just a bit of flavor. And for those who farmed and sold them, this is an end to the business: pick pocketing no longer provides "standard" potions, only these.

I was worried the drop rate would be less after the health potion buffs, but it still seems trivially easy to stock up. 20 minutes in the Fractured Front in Deepholm (which imo is the best place to farm -- most of the troggs fighting don't aggro) netted about 5, which is what it's usually been for me.

Best pickpocket reward ever. Using this in tandem with recuperate will save healers some mana and just might save your group a wipe. Nice of Blizz to slip this in there for us.

I find this macro really handy in PvE and it yields me a fair share of Rogue's Draught in particular which as above post (RichardoZ) pointed out can be really handy in certain situations.

This is for my Cheapshot opener, just as an example, but you can replace Cheapshot with Ambush, Garrote etc.
One thing is required though, you need to have autoloot on and plenty of bagspace.

Bonus:
You gain about 20% additional cash when grinding, plus you have a chance of getting other cool stuff that sells for more :)
It's free and I'm amazed how few rogues don't use pick pocketing in PvE or when grinding. It's really useful and free gold tbh!

ya i just made it to deephome. seen alot of trogs so i went at um got around 6 or so.. i love them for pvp.. VERY NICE!

Confirmed, Alchemists Stones DO increase the healing effect.

31837 heal with Trinket.

22561 without Trinket.

Both without the Quickening talent.

Is there an MoP version of this? This is/was a way cool item and should be made as part of fundamental rogue play and lore (like stealth, poisons, and daggers). This would be better than recuperate in every way.
