As you can see from the lack of comments here, these are an EXTREMELY rare vanity/role playing item. They are only obtainable by rogues, via pick-pocketing. Fortunately they are not soulbound unless you use them, meaning that they can be traded and sold.

The irony is that based solely on rarity, these should have a astronomical value (we're talking 10k gold here,) but unfortunately unless you're on a server with people who collect role play items, you won't be able to get what they're worth. Listing them in the AH is useless too as no one will see them unless they are specifically searching there for this item.

*edit - now that they are a toy for the toybox in the Warlords expansion, they are far more highly sought after, but also more heavily farmed. Still, expect to pay or charge no less than 5k!

Searched for the gnomish x-ray scope and found these on the AH for 30g. Interesting little thing here, though I was disappointed by the actual roll. I had hoped I would get different combinations to make 7. Oh well, another thing to play with during a raid I guess.

The best place to farm this is from Signore del Calore del Crepuscolo.

Don't bother with the Ogres in the area, it's not on their loot table.

Also, put this macro on your mousewheel and spin to win:

UPDATE 14/08/2014: After several more thousand mobs I can confirm this indeed can be pick pocketed from Schnottz Infantryman in Uldum, this dropped for me from the non-elite mob too. There is plenty of those and you can pick pocket huge numbers in short time but expect for this to take very long time. Don't give up and I hope this helps.

While both Dadi Troll Consumati and Dadi Nanici Decaedrici are listed as "Drop: Rogue Pickpocket" in the toy box, these dice are listed as a World Drop. Either this is an oversight and they will be acquired via pickpocketing in WoD just like they are now or their method of acquisition will change in Warlords.

The Schnottz encampment in Uldum with Attendente di Schnottz and others is far superior when farming for these dice to other locations, at least in my opinion. Here's a short guide for the route I used to find my dice:

Start at the bottom of the stairs in Uldum at 42.0, 12.5 and work your way up. The reason to work upwards is that you can't accidentally skip a couple of meters and fall into mobs, which can happen when you work downwards.
The groups of Infantrymen can be handled very efficiently by Distrazione, just aim for the middle of the pack and pick pockets as fast as you can while they're distracted. You may only get 6 to 8 but the remaining few should be no problem when they start walking again. Watch out for when Distract fades, they might sprint back to a point on their route and run right through you. Refrain from Tramortimentoping the leading elite Infantryman because his 9 followers will just run through each other confusing the hell out of you when finding that last one or two with full pockets.
Also pick the pockets of the Infantrymen standing on the edges of the individual platforms, it gives your Distrazione time to finish its cooldown and they should also drop the dice.
Once you arrive at the gate of the Ruins of Khintaset, unlock and open all lockboxes, summon a vendor with your Mammut del Viaggiatore della Tundra and sell all your loot.
Repeat until dice drop.
Profit.

If everything works out, you should pick about 90 pockets in 5 minutes which should be enough time for them to refill.

Confirmed as of patch 6.0.2 that it still can be pickpocketed Schnottz Infantryman in Uldum.

Got lucky and got it after a few hundred pickpockets, but I'd imagine the rarity is more in the 1-2 thousand

HELPFUL TIP when farming Schnottz Infantryman in Uldum:

If you sap the commander leading the packs that go up and down the stairs, the rest of the patrol will stop giving you more freedom to pickpocket with a distance without having to move with the pack.

as level 90, farming here for gnomish dice was the most problematic compared to Skorn (for troll dice) and New Hearthglen (for Decahedral Dwarven Dice) because pickingpocketing for hours with no end in sight makes for sloppy maneuvering, so I recommend leaving the center mob of the patrol untouched just for efficiency and not risk having to kill anything

Schnottz NPCs are probably the best to farm for dice because it drops both Decahedral and Gnomish dice

Additional TIPS

having a sap/pickpocket macro will help greatly, I pulled one from the dice farming comments

learn to max range to avoid having to kill/reset mobs, and you don't have to face the target you're pickpocketing

having auto-loot turned on will help tremendously

downloading an addon to automatically sell junk will reduce downtime

glyph for lockpicking time reduced to instant will also help with vendor downtime

beware of campfires, they will break stealth

If the mob has A Steamy Romance Novel: Forbidden Love, then they drop Decahedral Dwarven Dice. If they have Empty Tobacco Pouch then they drop Worn Troll Dice. At least this is what I’m seeing.
Typically Worn Troll Dice drop from Trolls and Vyrkul.
Typically Decahedral Dwarven Dice drops from Humans and Dwarves.

What’s needed:
A Rogue (74 and up for Dadi Troll Consumati and Dadi Nanici Decaedrici) (83 and up for Dadi Gnomeschi Truccati)
A will to not punch yourself in the face from a long grind.

Location: Skorn
Task: Stealth and Pick Pocket every mob in Skorn.
Skorn is probably the best place to gather your troll dice from. The mobs are plentiful and if you time it right you can make a loop (including landing on top of the towers with the mages and picking their pockets, keep in mind to do this you must have Cold Weather Flying, and fly high enough above they won’t see you, but not too high that you can’t land safely) and get back to your “start point” and have the mobs pockets refilled.
I personally start at the northernmost point, by the river, with the two lumberjack guys, and then work my way to the big building, and back around, find a path that works for you.

Location: New Hearthglen
Task: Stealth and Pick Pocket every mob in New Hearthglen
New Hearthglen is literally overflowing with mobs. Each one can be pick pocketed, even the ones riding on the horse. If you make a complete cycle through New Hearthglen, starting at the large front gates, you can circle around to the beach, and then travel up the side ramp, and be back around by the building with the archery targets, and cycle through. There is no-downtime here.
This place is fantastic for finding the dice, I personally have picked 3 of them from this particular spot. There is only one mob in the whole place that doesn’t drop the dice, and that’s the bishop in the small church by the stables.

Location: Maker's Ascent
Task: Pick Pocket every mob on Maker's Ascent and Kill them after.
How this works is to start at the bottom of the stairs, pick the two guys standing there (it is not neccesary to kill these two) then pick the groups of ten in a grid pattern so you don't miss one and you remember where you are in the pickpocketing. It makes it easier if you sap the elite infantrymen, as it stops them all in place and you can roll around easily. After you've finished a group kill them - there are two reasons for this - the first is they respawn faster then their pockets refill. The second is if you're not alone pickpocketing there, it'll signal to your fellow rogues that the group has been pickpocketed.
Work your way up the ramp, and once you make it to Ruins of Khintaset, you mount up, and fly back down to the bottom and you should have to wait only thirty or so seconds for respawns. Yes - they drop dice. On a side note, I've gotten world drop epics, patterns, and rares from the mobs after they've been killed, and it'll make a little extra gold for you.

Notes:
The drop rate is low. I spoke to a GM, and though they can’t tell you anything that you don’t already know, he gave me this advice, “Pickpocket a lot, every time you can.”
If the mob has Romanzo Rosa: L'Amore Proibito, then they drop Dadi Nanici Decaedrici. If they have Borsa di Tabacco Vuota then they drop Dadi Troll Consumati. At least this is what I’m seeing.
Typically Dadi Troll Consumati drop from Trolls and Vyrkul.
Typically Dadi Nanici Decaedrici drops from Humans and Dwarves.
Typically Dadi Gnomeschi Truccati drops from any Cataclysm Humanoids who can be pickpocketed.
Keep in mind, there are always exceptions to any rules, but these are personally what I’ve observed.

Now that these have been added to the Toybox, there will be a lot of rogues farming for them. Obviously, the most popular place is at the Ruins of Khintaset, pick pocketing the Schnottz Infantrymen. Since I started farming, I noticed one rather odd thing - as soon as somebody else saw that I had pickpocketed even one of the 10 mobs, they killed the entire group. "If I can't have it, nobody can."

Obviously, this doesn't help anyone. The sooner I can get my dice, the sooner I'll leave you alone to get yours.

In addition, since everyone is going to be farming them at the same place, here's a fun idea. Just go anywhere else. I went beneath the mountain, under the Obelisk of the Moon, and there are tons of neutral ghosts fighting humans - they can all be pickpocketed. I got mine from down there in, literally, thirty seconds of pickpocketing.

Got all 3 of them. Some remarks:
Loaded Gnomish Dice dropped after 117 A Steamy Romance Novel: Big Brass Bombs
Worn Troll Dice dropped after 64 Empty Tobacco Pouch
Decahedral Dwarven Dice dropped after 233 A Steamy Romance Novel: Forbidden Love

Its a big competition for these items now with the addition of Toy Box. Keep your sanity, listen to some music and be nice to other players. There is no point trying to force an area with more than 2 rogues. Try again later or find a new spot. Goes a lot quicker.

Can someone clarify the pickpocketing mechanics for me? I was under the impression you can randomly pickpocket these off any Cataclysm level humanoid. The Wowhead DB barely has any stats on this or the other dice.

I see many posts mentioning the goblins in Uldum, and indeed there are dozens of rogues camping out there... but wouldn't a more reliable method be to just solo farm an instance with a bunch of humanoids and reset it? I'm currently farming Slabhide for the mount and pickpocketing Millhouse's guards along the way. Not a lot of mobs so I probably won't get the dice, but if I do I'll update.

If you have a lot of competition at Maker's Ascent, I suggest Tol Barad Peninsula. Start with the Apprehensive Workers at Rustberg Village, go to Farson Hold and then Wellson Shipyard. On this route I had no downtime, there is travel time between the camps, but no competition at all. Have fun.

I pockpocketed Twilight mobs in Hyjal for 2.5 weeks, often while waiting in the 10-min queue for the Halloween dungeon each day. Perhaps 2000 mobs. Made 600g, purely from vendoring all the pickpocket trash. No dice

I moved to Maker's Ascent at the NW corner of Uldum and pickpocketed the dice on my first pass through the staircase with all the Schnottz Infantry.

Has anyone who has got the dice to drop from the Schnottz Infantry had any additional drop? I'm talking in the case of farming to sell. I'm just really starting to wonder what the drop rate actually is with these things. I'm at 750-1000 pick pockets now and haven't seen them. Wowhead also has a pretty large amount of data for pick pocketing them but no drops either. I'm just trying to figure out if I'm having insanely, almost unrealistically bad luck or if others are having really good luck and then posting it on here.

Got this from Infantries in Northwest Uldum (north of Obelisk of the Moon) Took about 6-7 hours in total. If your pickpocketing the groups on the steps, sap the leader and that stops the group from moving, then kill the pack afterwards (faster to allow more pickpocketing).
Don't be a @#$%^& btw, if someone is here first and doing this, don't start killing packs to annoy the other pick pocketer (I've had this done by some sour players)

I myself just got these. I found the Uldum mobs to be highly camped and counter-productive, so I followed a suggestion I saw elsewhere and went to Tol Barad. I started at Farson's Keep and when that was cleared, I moved onto Rustberg Village. Going back and forth between the two there is absolutely no downtime between pickpocket reset. After a couple of hours, I nabbed the dice from a crazed soldier in Farson's Keep.

Dropped just now from the Schnottz Infantryman after I had stolen 73 of the novels. So those guys still do drop them. Maybe 2 hours of actual work but much longer in real time because I took breaks waiting for pocket reloads/respawns.

After about 1200 mobs (or 120 groups; 9 normal +1 elite each) i finally got my Loaded Gnomish Dice in Maker's Ascent, Uldum, from one of the Schnottz mobs.
Tips (lvl 100):
- You only need to Sap the elite to stop the entire group.
- Glyph of Pickpocket for that extra range, saves you a few seconds per group.
- Go Combat spec and get the Cloak & Dagger talent. Together with Blade Flurry you can one-shot the entire group with ambush after you're done picking pockets for easy respawns.
(optional Talent: Nightstalker for 20% extra stealthed speed and quicker re-stealthing. The mobs don't respawn fast enough for it to be mandatory however it gives you that extra time for a smoke/drink/bio break in between)
- Open lock Glyph to instantly open the many, non-stackable, Flame-scarred lockboxes.
- A vendor mount, Jeeves/cheap vendorbot and preferrably top lvl bags (and only take with you what you really need).
- Get some music or other side-entertainment because you might be there for a while.

Wowhead needs to update the 'Pickpocketed from' tab list, according to people's comments on this page.
As some have told, almost any cataclysm humanoid hostile/neutral to the character may drop this from pickpocketing, but those 'packs' of mobs are better for the farm. With that, its easy to note where, in any cataclysm zones people may try to get it.

EDIT: After posting the above I decided to get ready for another long try grind but, without even finishing one lap within the Chamber of the Moon (below the mountain at NW of Uldum), I got it off an Guardiano Ancestrale. Yay for my 209th toy.

Quick guide for farming Schnottz Infantrymen in search of Dadi Gnomeschi Truccati:

Handy talents:
Shadowstep - Increases mobility.

Handy glyphs:
Glyph of Pick Lock - You'll get a handful of junkboxes during each pass. I opened them because of the respawn timer of the mobs - may as well make some extra cash.
Glyph of Pick Pocket - Always useful for pickpocketing; makes it easier to reach all the mobs in the middle of the pack.

Handy macros:
Picks the pocket of the mob that your cursor is hovering over:

Strategy:
Schnottz Infantrymen have short patrols in 3x3 squares plus one elite at one side of the group at Maker's Ascent in Uldum. I would start by sapping the elite in order to make the group stand still. I would then proceed to pick the pockets of the three units that are in the front of the group (facing forward in the direction of their patrol), then I Shadowstep to the middle mob in the back row. From there, you can reach the middle three mobs (this is where Glyph of Pick Pocket is useful) and the back row of mobs. Don't forget to pick pocket the elite first if he's in the front of the pack or after Shadowstepping to the back. I then killed off the pack and moved on. Spam your lock pick macro to loot all your junk boxes for some extra cash after your route. (Optionally, at this point you can hop servers while the mobs on your server are respawning since they have a rather long respawn timer for this. Be courteous, though; other people may be farming this, so if you notice dead mobs or mobs that have been pick pocketed already, find another server.)

Getting used to the mouseover macros takes a little bit of time, but they are well worth it. I find that in packs of this size, it helps to have enemy nameplates turned off to use the macros effectively.

My own tip for pickpocketing the Schottz Infantrymen at Maker's Ascent in Uldum: at level 100, when you Sap the Schnottz Elite Infantryman, you can just stealth into one of the spaces equidistant from any four paused Infantrymen, and reach all of them with your Pick Pocket, either with a mouse-over macro or just tab-targeting (which cycles quite nicely thru each one, without even requiring any turning).

Please note: this does, of course, require the minor Glyph of Pick Pocket.

I found the best and most fun location to farm for this item was at The Kazzworks in the Twilight Highlands. If you're alliance, you can only pick pocket the Wildhammer mobs, and as horde I assume you can only pick pocket the Krazzworks mobs. The nice thing is, if you kill the mobs after you loot them, they respawn really quick -- you don't have to kill them though obviously, by the time you finish 1 lap, their pick pocket timer has long gone reset. Going around the place never gets boring either as there are so many levels. Took me about 20-30 minutes to get my dice (2 laps). Decided to go for a 2nd one, and it took me the same amount of time and laps.

Loaded Gnomish Dice, Today we got a nice easy farm that is Rogue only down in Uldum farming Loaded Gnomish Dice. I got 2 of these in 1 hr so that is a 40k min per hr according too the Undermined Journal. Since the wrecking of Cross Realm Assist and Server Hop I revisited this one to see how it was working, I was pleased to find out a strategy that works great.

Does anyone know if these still drop since the 7.3.5 patch, the mobs are now level 90 and i have spent over 3 hours trying to get one to drop with no luck, since the world scaling update has messed up some loot tables i am wondering if its just bad rng or they have been removed by accident?

Confirmed Location: Maker's Ascent off the Schnottz Infantryman.

I used the sap/pp macro and sapped the elite infantryman in each pach and then with my back to the other 9 mobs I targeted each an hit the macro until I got all 10 then fan of knives.

Took me about 3000 kills to get my dice.

AAAND 5 mins later I got a 2nd dice!

Been wondering if I understand how this works. Wowhead says the dice for Alliance are a DROP from Schnottz Infantrymen, but a Horde wanting them has to PICKPOCKET marines in Twilight. So if I'm working the guys in Uldum, do I need to pickpocket or kill or both ?

EDIT: Finally got the Dadi Gnomeschi Truccati by Pickpocketing a Schnottz Infantryman so suspecting that Wowhead is wrong about it being a drop from killing them.

Confirmed these can be pickpocketed from the elites leading each group.

Screenshot of getting it off the elite, I use the sap/pickpocket macro many people have linked so I know I got it off him and not some other mob in the group.

Can confirm that this is pick-able from the elite infantryman that lead the packs. Just got one from one. I took a screenshot but my software deleted it unfortunately so I'm not able to log it. Just thought I'd note that since it isn't in the "pickpocketed from" section.

I'm wondering if there's a level requirement for pickpocketing the mobs.

I've been leveling a druid just to start farming Melmina Disgustosa, because the mobs (and thus your character) supposedly have to be Level 40+ -- and the mobs in the swamp I want to farm are naturally Level 30, outside of Chromie Time. If the mobs are under Level 40, the Sacca Melmosa (which have a chance to contain Melmina Disgustosa supposedly isn't in their loot table at all ("supposedly" because I personally had a single bag drop on a Level 60 toon after killing over 300 Level 30 mobs, but that's beside the point).

So I'm wondering if these pickpocketed dice might work the same way? I haven't seen any comments specifically mentioning levels of their toons or the mobs they were picking from, AFTER the level squish happened.

I'd assume people are going in with their max-level toons (currently max is Level 60), picking everyone, and one-shotting them, and then eventually looting the various dice... but that's an assumption I'm making without really any actual evidence or reason (except wishful thinking).

Any of the following information from people who have looted the dice since the level squish would be immensely helpful, I think to a lot of people, especially:
- What level the character was that you looted it on
and either (or both) of the following two:
- What level the mobs were
- Whether Chromie Time was on or not

It took me around 3-4 hours of pickpocketing to finally get this dice.
I was picking mobs in three places: on Maker's Ascent, near Obelisk of the Moon to the east, and in the Chamber of the Moon below.
I actually preferred the Chamber, as the mobs were neutral and not wandering around as much as on the Ascent.
There are pairs of mobs locked in combat with each other, and you can easily pick pocket them.
In addition, there's no scorching sun down there, so you won't get sunburn :)
I actually got the dice in the Chamber. Took me longer than I thought.
Good luck, and don't lose faith! You'll get it eventually!
