These are not useable in Ironforge, Tested during Patch 2.3 on December 25th, 2007.
EDIT: Just used this in Theramore, so they are useable in Azeroth. Maybe it's just Ironforge you can't use them.

It should be noted that these can be used without breaking stealth.

These are similar to the White Smoke Flare, only they are of a different, as of yet undetermined color.
If anyone can get some data on just what that color is, please post your findings.

These are great for marking fish feast in 25 mans like Ony where a feast can be hard to find sometimes.
