Tooltip in game says this is a world drop from creatures, and can drop from decay covered chests, which do not show up on the mini map and tend to spawn in the dens in the brakenhide area. I have opened several chests so far, along with killed the rare's as they spawned in the bracken area and haven't had the recipe drop so far. Seems like its a very low drop chance, which is a bit redundant for a convivence item, if I get it to drop eventually I'll update with what gave it to me.

6 hours in farming and i still have not found this, either it hasnt been activated yet, im actually clueless on how to obtain it, or the drop chance is literal non existent.

a) that thing is -rare-, 2hours chests and nothing. (+brackenhide rares just for a try.)
b) that thing is expensive.. for 3 charges... just run a normal dungeon and save a few k in mats? :/

Just got this as a drop from a Claw Fighter trash mob right at the first pack of Normal Brackenhide Hollow.

I dropped it from mobs in Vastità Azzurra, around 24.0 40.0 . There were around 10-15 common mobs so I can't confirm which one, these were mobs around Frangiscudi Masticaossa (multiple Gnawbones, Hyena Mongrel, Duskpaw Trapper and Duskpaw Hidestitcher)

So far I've done 1 hour of random mob farming of gnolls in Azure, full cleared 1 mythic 0 and killed 2 brackenhide rares, opened 4 decayed chests. No drop yet, chance seems pretty low unless you're lucky like the person who got it out of the first pull in the dungeon

I Opened 160+ Decay Covered Chests over the last few days. No drop yet. :(

farmed about 30 hours over the past few days --- opened the decay-covered chests + killing mobs in brackenhide hollow. no luck :/
I did get some cool weapon transmogs tho!

Had this drop today from a normal BH run much like the commenter before me after 3 days of farming mobs and decayed chests.

Hilariously, you can't use the cauldron to create a cauldron, so even if you have the recipe, you still need to run a normal BH to get to the altar to craft it (Requires both the Altar of Decay AND the Den of Decay) - Keep that in mind before you accept any crafting orders.

I finally received this while farming mobs in Brackenhide Brambles - at 16, 38 & 15, 38 in Azure Span. (I was pulling larger packs but likely from a Attaccabrighe Felcepelle / Occhiomorto Felcepelle.)

There are loads of non-elite mobs in the area & they seem to respawn fairly quickly.

So... basically, from all the comments Im reading it will take about the same amount of time to run BH and craft your item vs. trying to farm the pattern. And given that it's a drop in BH, might as well kill 2 birds with 1 stone vs. pull your hair out due to the RNG.

was about to give up after 5 h of gnoll + chests and was like "one last chest" - and it dropped off a chest. Probably opened less than 100 chests

Ive done 3 altar runs in dungeon, the amount of time it takes really wats youre weekly time for more vital things imo.
I charged 35k for a 447 dungeon altar run. 30k and up is what i would charge and then post all ur decay recipes in trade to knock out as many as you can. Even with normal speed run it still eats up time.

If people want to get cauldron with their own mats and use that then that works too, but dont pay for it urself bc the pot costs 30k and unless they tip more than that then its a waste.

I bought this recipe for 140k, ah price was 170k, us region is 300kish, well worth it and tons of ppl want this made.

I've farmed Decayed Chests in Azure Span off and on for days to no avail. I must have looted around 500 chests in total in that time as I have a similar amount of Sacred Tuskarr Totems since 10.1.

Decided to brush up on tanking on my monk by soloing packs of mobs in Brackenhide Hollow on normal difficulty and had the recipe drop in my first run.

At 433 ilevel I'm able to tank three packs at a time easily so if anyone else is trying to farm this recipe and has a geared tank definitely try farming BH normal!

This is actually a pretty bad investment. First of all, with three charges and having to craft it by the original cauldron, you have to do the instance every three crafts. This means it only saves you the hassle 2 of every three crafts.

Now the cost, the dracothist + the spores alone are around 10k in my server. This means the three uses you get end up costing 10k + 1 travel to the dungeon. And thats not counting the initial investment of 30k for the reusable cauldron. Even if you add 5k to whatever your crafting tip was, it would still mean you barely get 5k for doing the dungeon (less than a satchel of coop) plus the costs for recrafting the cauldron.

You would need to charge at least 10k extra to pay this thing in a reasonable number of crafts. Sadly the costs for most things crafting related (recipes etc) seems to be just high enough that either you craft A LOT or youll never get the investment back.

For 40k, it should either be infinite uses or have a lot of them, enough to get some money back through these 1k -50g public orders that show up every now and then.
If you, like me, bought the expensive recipe to try it, its just a money sink, you are not making any profit.

you can run BH ONCE and re-extend the lockout indefinetly. for sure on a "normal" mythic, not sure about heroic.

once you have done one and the lockout expires, Social button, Raid tab, Raid Info button, highlight brackenhide and Re-extend raid lock w/e you need it. even if it expires you can extend it again.

check to see if you already have an old brackenhide listed there and extend it.

Anyone able to reason to me why blizzard made the Drop rate of these and the ones from dungeons and those for other profressions that are "World Drops" continue the trend of being that rare there is no point trying to farm them. I legit want to know why they kept the trend from classic of all patterns,Schematics and Plans. being the hardest items to farm and find in this game ever. 0 Purpose is the correct answer if you could not think of it fast enough. Do Blizzard go back and fix the issue no they just keep Dead content patterns and plans impossible to get along with Green items for transmogs along with blue and epics. Cosmetics are just as rare to get mainly from BFA Assaults. Either hey Messed up the coding due to them squishing the game levels down but not adjuting the code for the game like how you cannon farm Disgusting oozling bags on a character above level 45 which contains a rare pet. That is just one example of having a specific level character to even see an item to dorp so I think that is one of the main issue/ If they took the time from now until Pre patch for TWW and actually did some work because lets face it Dragonflight was Dead on Arrival when its first "Patch".
