I killed 30 Swift Hornstriders and got 7 Tallstrider Sinews - located in Ohn'ahran Plains around 77, 22 thru 76,20. They are about the only aggressive prey in that area, but will call for help.

I agree drop rate from Swift Hornstrider is poor. They also have a nasty ability to "call for help" without saying so.

They've really messed up the drop rate for these; swooping between the three main spots for these in Ohn'ahran plains yields maybe 3 per hour (I've farmed about 20 sinew now) and that's if you get all the spawns to yourself like I largely have been with WM on. I'd like to say at least Im Skinning to make it worth it, but leather is already so worthless that I don't even bother skinning mobs anymore.

no way i give 1300g for 1 Tallstrider Sinew when you need 40 to get the armor on your dragonriding mounts, that is just outrageous. drop rate should be higher than this

Roughly 2 hours into farming and still no drops.
Doesn't help that the price has significantly fallen on Frostmourne. Doesn't seem worth the farm right now

The RNG on this is pretty average, I just farmed for 30 minutes after I got a good route. in total I received 5, but I had 3 after the first 5 minutes.

I wish aggressive bad thoughts on whoever decided that you needed to farm a random low-drop item off a mob and two kinds of crafting materials to "buy" the rep items that you presumably earned. Passive gathering on these has netted me a total of about five of these, in a couple of months of daily play. I think you need about 120 Tallstrider Sinews to buy all of the things that it's a currency for. But of course it's not the only currency! There's like twelve kinds! And all of them have fairly low drop rates!

I'm looking at you too, Primal Bear Spine.

Another good place is the area around Algeth'era flight stop (51, 45) in Thaldraszus.
A decent spawn rate and the mostest excellent place for a skinner too.

So after noticing this costs 1400G in my realm I started farming this.

Results after 1400 combined Cornolesto Aggressivo type kills:

The droprates are fairly good at almost 12-14% UNTIL you hit total of 10-12 Tendine di Zampalunga ( Not sure if it's week capped?)
Then it still drops but at much lower droprate - it dropped from 12% (above droprates) to 4%.
Small mobs like Pulcino di Cornolesto also drop it at 5-6% rate until you hit 10 Tendine di Zampalunga , and then drops by half to 2% total.
In total. I farmed 48 Tendine di Zampalunga out of 1400 mob kills.
Worth it? Depending on your realm prices and you can also farm it with your party of friends without professions. There is no hyperspawns of these mobs currently, might change in future updates.

Take this with grain of salt because I might have been very lucky in the start of the farm and got very unlucky by the end. But some of the comments and stats also prove my theory above. I can't have above 10% droprate and suddenly drop to 4% after farming it for 5-6hrs total.

Notes:
As I am fairly new to WoW and Professions in general, I am still not sure of Skinning specialization that increases reagent droprates from skinnable mobs increases the droprate of Tendine di Zampalunga, because Im focusing on Bait spec currently. Will probably update the commend once I can test this, might take a while. Don't want to create alts.

I start farming it but the droprate is never 10% I killed mutch more for 1 drop

Edit: The price is still falling, just 340G now.

If you're not in the market for a crafted bow, crafted int off-hand, crafted int waist, toys or cosmetics, it seems safe to AH this.

edit: seems the only non-cosmetic/toy uses have been removed with patch 1.0.0.5, i.e. if you're not in the market for cosmetics nor toys, feel free to AH.

Okay, after seeing that the price of these is about 800g a pop on the AH i decided to go see if i could farm them... after about 70 minutes i had... Two. Sooo yeah, this drop rate sucks. I guess i'm not going to buy up all the cosmetic rewards i was hoping to get...
I guess i'm thankful at least that -so far- this is the only item like this to trade for rep stuff i've found that's really expensive, most are only a few gold each.

I'll be honest, the drop rate was better when the expansion as new but coincidentally was nerfed through the ground the moment some of us started getting toward those rewards. I had like 15 just from leveling at the time that I got rid of not realizing how bad it was going to be to try and farm them instead of going to the AH.

Absolutely the worst item you'll need if you want some good looking cosmetics, terrible drop rate and absurd pricing on the AH for just ONE.

The Aggressive Hornstriders and Hornstrider Chicks over by Shikaar Highlands were very good for farming the Tallstrider Sinew. I got 30 in 4 hours on a weekday Friday. Not sure if they increased the drop rate or if they may be time dependant like fishing sometimes is, but I tried 4 different spots and these mobs dropped the most and consistently.

IS just ridiculous how you devs waste our time with stupid stuff, is not a mount, is professions, we should be able to have fun, killed over 400 mobs not even 1 drop, so frustating.....................

So now these are become stupid rare the prices have tripled again, and the greedlords buy out the entire stock when it goes under a certain price to raise it further. I truly hope they make the drop rate stupidly high by the end so these shmucks get bent

Spent about an hour and a half collecting these for some of the renown rewards from the Dragonscale.

It honestly was a little bit of a slog but I got 15 in that time and saved about 12k gold.

There are two main spots that I flew between, one spot southwest of the Timberstep Outpost, the other west of Shikaar Highlands. Happy hunting :)

At time a single one is worth around 1k on the AH, this is due to how abysmal the droprate is.
So its a choice between grinding Tallstriders of hours just to slowly collect them, or spend around 10k just for one piece of cosmetic items

A lot of the Items that require these to purchase can be acquired for free through the quests that pop up at levels of renown with Valdrakken if you play alts.

1 hours of farm only yields 4-5 of these. 2 hours 11.
Devs at Blizz are running out of gameplay ideas. Have to resort to cheap tricks like low drop-rate items for cosmetics.

Wondering if they "fixed" the droprate farmed for maybe an hour and got 10 of them (77,22) and some other Blue drop (name I forgot ) that sold for 25K

plus another 750 G in trash drops

Going off other comments here I was worried about trying to farm these, I want to collect all the drake appearances and you need like 30 of these for all the scripts (besides the one you get for free from the Valdrakken rep) But I just spent 40 or so minutes and got 10. So either I am insanely *insanely* lucky, or perhaps they've upped the drop chance a little in the last patch?

I farmed for the Sinew over by Pinewood post, and the drop rate between the Aggressive Hornstriders and Hornstrider Chicks was actually the best from everywhere I went. Within just a few minutes and not waiting for respawns, I've already gotten 4!
