Let me clarify a VERY EXPENSIVE AND COMMON MISTAKE real quick with some facts:

The items that are able to add a socket to a necklace are determined by how many sockets IT ALREADY HAS.
If a necklace has no sockets, you can use a Castone a Strati per Medaglione, Castone a Strati per Medaglione or Castone a Strati per Medaglione to add the FIRST socket.
If a necklace already has one socket, you can use a Castone a Strati per Medaglione or Castone a Strati per Medaglione to add the SECOND socket, you cannot add a second or third socket to a necklace using Castone a Strati per Medaglione.
If a necklace already has two sockets, you can only use a Castone a Strati per Medaglione to add the THIRD AND FINAL socket.

So basically, you can use the cheapest of the three qualities for the first socket, and the cheapest between quality 2 and 3 for the second socket, but will have to get a quality 3 for the final socket.

Edit: Confirmation that the above information is in fact correct. After further testing and publicly posted data, we can now confidently confirm that the description IS in fact misleading, and the text description `The quality of this item determines up to how many sockets it can add.` does not mean a Castone a Strati per Medaglione can add up to 3 sockets, it merely means the 3rd socket can only be added by a Castone a Strati per Medaglione.

As of the moment, the below "Tiered Medallion Setting" for a gem socket cannot be used on Collare d'Ossidiana, however Blizzard is currently working on a fix.

Make sure you apply them in order of rank (1, 2, 3) as to avoid... frustration.

Quick warning to anyone applying this: Once you select your neck piece and it asks if you are sure - if you press "No/Cancel" item will dissapear/be consumed without adding a socket. Just had this happen 2/15/2023. Not sure if it happens 100% or just chance/bug but fyi fair warning.

Does anyone know if the Tiered Medallion Setting can be added to the new items from Dreamsurge such as the Dreambound Choker? The description makes it sound like it works but when I try it I get "That item cannot be modified". Is this accurate or is it just a bug?

As a JC, i have everything maxed out, except the statue/idol talents and I still have 261/275 skill when crafting with r3 mats. I just tried to put a single point into the Carving talent (idol+statue ) and didnt increase my skills. Still have 261/275. I suppose you cant craft r3 Castone a Strati per Medaglione without insight
