This dropped for me after the launch of patch 9.1.5 off of the weekly Mor'geth world boss kill. I am renown 80 with the Night Fae on the character that it dropped for, though I do not know if that impacts the drop chance.

Since some people are saying they got it from Mor'geth and I got mine from Valinor, it seems its on a global loot table for world bosses.

Not a guaranteed drop. Killed Valinor for the worldquest as a NFae renown 79 but didn't get it. Might be worth hitting that 80 before getting the kill in case renown makes a difference.

It dropped for me off Mor'geth. Around 4-5 attempts roughly i wasnt counting.
I was renown 55 when it dropped, i was able to hand in the quest And swap my soulshape to the alpaca. Renown level doesnt appear to matter that much.

Truly the greatest soulshape to use alongside Specchio Celeste di Ai-Li. When you're in combat and attack as the alpaca you jump up on your hind legs and kick at the enemy with your front legs. It's 10 minutes of pure comedy. Also make sure to /mountspecial while in alpaca form to bounce around in a circle.

When you can't find your new Alpaca soulshape, make sure to click "what other forms can I take" dialogue multiple times, turns out there are many pages but it's a bit confusing.

I got 20 kills (2 per week) now and it still hasn't dropped. I probably need to complain again to get it. :P

Today it finally dropped! Complaining still works xD

I don't do the world bosses on regular basis. Today I came along Valinor in Bastion and it dropped the alpaca soul for me. It's such a cutie. Wish you all good luck for the drop.

Something to note, the alpaca form won't work in the covenant, but if you activate it outside of the "zone", it will work. Otherwise, you will turn into your previous soul shape. Not sure why it's like this. I did see on the forums that a few others had this issue in November, but the thread was closed by Blizz and not resolved. Unable to submit a bug report if it is in fact a bug.

During Antros raid i was in today, most people that were night fae got Alpaca Soul to drop. Looks like it's a bug at the moment. It seems a guaranteed drop only from Antros!
