To access this room, you first must:

Research Comprensione del Metriale, Comprensione dell'Aealico, Comprensione del Dealico, and Comprensione del Sopraniano
Unlock Sintesi di Protoforma (Cavalcatura) by completing Il canto finale & Un nuovo architetto
Complete Un mezzo per un fine
Unlock the Camber Alcove from the Disposizione dell'Alcova della Curvatura at /way #1970 47.7 34.5, on the outer back side of the Vessel's room (accessible from flying or via the Ultimus Locus)

Next gain at least 60 Cosmic Energy and enter Gravid Repose. Use the Locus Shift to take the Interior Locus to the Inner Chamber. You will now see a new Locus Shift (the Arcae Locus) upon the platform at the north-western side of the room, which you can use to travel to the Camber Alcove.

Inside this room is an Prototipo Inerte, multiple piles of Cumulo di Polvere di Sodios, and an orb in the centre of the room representing Nodo di Osservazione.

Interacting with Prototipo Inerte will start a mini-game by (shrinking and) mounting you in the Prototipo Inerte vehicle, and giving you the Lancio Guscio ability. The Nodo di Osservazione will also announce:

Helicid prototype found. Starting survival test.

You will then begin moving at a constant and slow speed, and must guide the vehicle through Anelli (Cosmetico)s, while avoiding Cumulo di Polvere di Sodios. Each ring will grant you a stack of Apprendimento Positivo, and on the 5th stack you will gain Apprendimento Positivo which successfully completes the game and reveals the Schema di Prototipo. The Nodo di Osservazione will also announce:

Survival test succeeded. Adjusting schematic to account for safer velocity.

Colliding with a Cumulo di Polvere di Sodio will apply Bruciore di Sodio and Apprendimento Negativo. On the 3rd stack of Apprendimento Negativo you will gain Apprendimento Negativo, which exits the vehicle and resets the game. The Nodo di Osservazione will also announce:

Survival test failed. More testing needed.

Using Lancio Guscio will first pause the vehicle and provide a blue aiming guide, and a second use when off cooldown will launch it forward in a straight line for significant distance. This long pause between aiming and use, on top of the risk it brings, make inefficient in all but a few cases where you have a long and straight line clear of Cumulo di Polvere di Sodios.

Applicable to PTR characters only: If you unlocked the Disposizione del Locus Ultimus or completed Un mezzo per un fine before All Ch 6 Symbols Found was added, you will not have flagged, which is required to see the additional Arrangements. You will need to create a brand new character instead and complete Un mezzo per un fine again.

This is not just a slower than normal mount. I have just confirmed on live that this DOES work on a lvl 1 Bank Alt. Despite the tooltip saying "Requires Apprentice Riding", this works just like the Sea/Riding Turtle and Chauffeur mounts. It'll slide your toon around at standard running speed. Enjoy!

Only 110% running speed with this Prototipo di Turbolumaca Fallito mounted.
Running unmounted is 100%.

I'm very disappointed, I like the coloring of this snail most of all snails and then you can't use it normally as a ground mount.

Put in a good amount of effort into grinding out the Tools before finally being able to make this today...

I'm exalted and have done everything there is to do in ZM and i still cannot interact with the inert snail thing

Not sure if they'll fix this or if it's working as intended, but as of this posting: prior to learning riding as a Dracthyr, you can mount this and ride around the Forbidden Reach on it.

Edit: Turns out you can do this on a Level 1 as well. I found out today on my L1 bank alt--hit my Litemount keybind and it put me on this guy.

Shows 135% swimming speed in char panel, but can't be used in water despite every other mount and the other snails can. It will disappear and can't be summoned again. Weird behaviour.
