This is my only pc of gear that’s not heroic now. I don’t see it being replaced. Kyrian Vengeance DH this does 5% of my damage. And a good chunk of versatility which is my best stat.

Maybe I have no luck with the trinket, I have the item level 171 version and it barely procs. About 1.5% of my total damage.
Arms warrior - tried cleaving, bladestorm, sweeping strikes etc etc... Little results

Upon checking in-game combat logs, the damage proc of the trinket seems to not register at all, and it procs a good deal for me at that. Damage numbers don't even show when the holy bolts connect. Peculiar.

I got this trinket today from Calling in 197 ilvl, Its just amazing, procs often, do HIGH damage(about 5-10% of my overall damage in a +11-13 dungeon coming from this trinket) The healing also looks acceptable(i wasn't been under 50% hp mostly), + the basic stat 86 Versatility(instead of agility) which is about 2,3% ! Overall as a Vengeance Demon Hunter, for my stat priority its Bis, probably i only going to change when get something over 220 Ilvl.

Is this bugged in PvP, says it does 0 damage and 0 healing.. Also when I link it to my friend it says 0 for him too..

All my other tanks got this from a World Quest in Bastion. But my main tank got Controllore del Centurione Inceppato, the same as my hunter, its because i already have one ? Don't know why , never changed loot specialization.

This trinket seems to only come from callings with the Tribute of the Paragon cache reward, a random chance on world quest or from your shadowlands missions table. As to what ilvl it goes up to I'm not sure - the highest I've seen was 197 but if anyone has an idea on the ilvl cap on this trinket it would be appreciated!

I just got the trinket on 203 ilvl and gives 90 Versa, 2906 Holy dmg and 4486 heal. As guardian druid that 90 Versa is around 2.20 %. I will try it on next reset in Raid and M+ to see what brings.

PS: in TOP 15 did 6% of my dmg (around 250k) so pretty good

Nevermind. It works fine, just not in open world pvp areas, because it got deactivated in pvp. Even against mobs.

This trinket is brutally OP. My last test on the target dummy, it did 8.9% of my damage and mine is ilvl 161... I've got a normal mode Gluttonous Spike from Nathria and it did 3.9% of my damage, and it's ilvl 200... this thing seriously outperforms so many trinkets of higher ilvl it's not even funny... I hope I get a higher ilvl version of it at some point, but for now I'm definitely not replacing it, and I've got a few trinkets that are considerably higher ilvl that just can't compete with its damage.

This thing scales with retribution paladin mastery, which makes it pretty good for the item level. I've seen it hit for about 4k at ilvl 203 (with 700+ mastery).
It doesn't compete with good 220+ trinkets, though. On AoE it sims about 2.5% behind Stone Legion Heraldry and only 1% on ST.
For a 17 ilvl difference, this is quite impressive.

On my 222 VDH, my ilvl 194 version of this trinket typically will do between 8-13% of my overall damage on a single target M+ boss in a keystone (so far only tested on keys between 10 and 15). The total % of my overall damage done by the trinket drops off a bit as more targets are added to the fight, but it generally represents between 5-7% of my overall damage an entire keystone run.

I have replicated this effect on my 219 Guardian Druid and my 205 Blood DK. All three toons have the 194 ilevel version of the trinket that was available from the world quest "Vesiphone's Vicious Vesper" a couple days ago on NA servers. The % of my damage done from the trinket is relatively consistent across the three toons.

On all three toons, the healing done from the trinket represents less than 1% of my overall healing, usually less than 0.5%. In other words, the healing portion is negligible in practice. Looking at details, over the course of 6 runs across the 3 toons, the damage portion procced around 60-90 times per complete keystone run, while the healing portion only procced between 1-6 times per complete keystone run.

I have a level 213 version now. As an Unholy DK, this does more damage in most situations than my 242 Phial of Putrefaction. Love it.

Facing the dilemma of which trinket to use between some of the SL damage proc trinkets, I decided I would try 5 minute runs on Org training dummies to see which ones consistently did more damage.
I did the runs on my feral druid just auto attacking.
What I found out was very interesting. As far as I can tell, Hymnal of the Path WILL NOT proc from 'white' hits.

Trinkets used:
Withergrove Shardling (207 ilvl) - procs for 2058 damage
Essence Extractor (213 ilvl) - procs for 1829 damage
Hymnal of the Path (210 ilvl) - procs for 3168 damage

Test 1:
Withergrove Shardling - 33.2k damage (13 procs)
Hymnal of the Path - 0 damage (0 procs)

Test 2:
Withergrove Shardling - 36.5k damage (16 procs)
Essence Extractor - 20.7k damage (10 procs)

Test 3:
Hymnal of the Path - 0 damage (0 procs)
Essence Extractor - 19.1k damage (9 procs)

At this point I was started to suspect that 'white' hits would not proc Hymnal, so I did another 5 minute run on the dummy and kept all my dots up while spamming shred to maximize proc chances.
These were the results.

Test 4:
Hymnal of the Path - 57k damage (10 procs)
Withergrove Shardling - 31.8k damage (11 procs)

Conclusions:
1. Since the damage was roughly the same across trinkets from the various runs, I feel this test was a good representation of what you can expect to see.
2. Hymnal of the Path does not proc from white hits, but if you are using special attacks consistently, it has very high damage out put. In other words, as others have said, this is a great DPS trinket. At roughly the same amount of procs as the Shardling, it almost doubled its damage.
3. Withergrove Shardling is way better than Essence Extractor, even at a lower item level.

If you find yourself trying to decide between these trinkets, the one thing I can confidently say is you should not use Essence Extractor.
