Any clues from which rare or source this drops? Is it random from every rare or a specific one?

well, after some weeks of killing many rares in both Mantid and Aqir assaults, I have not seen this bow yet, and I'm beginning to get worried at the lack of reports here

the other transmog weapons from assaults have a decent amount of comments on them, if anyone has acquired it please let us know!

(go figure it's the one thing I want from these transmogs lol)

If anyone has actually seen or gotten this to drop please let us know. I am convinced its not actually in the game and is falsely in the loot table.

I received Bow of Calamity after completing Horrific Vision of Orgrimmar, solo, all objectives, 3 masks.

When compared to Primal Gladiator's Longbow which is the same model but a different color, this bow sheathes on your character's back BACKWARDS, so that the moving mandibles are inside your character's model.

Edit: adding that I was on my BM hunter when I received the bow. Not sure if there is any connection to your loot specialization and what weapon transmog items you could receive from Horrific Visions, but there is one data point.

Just did a 4 mask full clear and got this bow from one of the chest didn’t kill any special rare or nothing guessing it’s just a low drop chance from visions

I'm still farming for this.

Since the new comments about visions I've run roughly 26 visions going from 5 masks to 4 mask to 3 mask etc. Before the posts about visions I had already maxed everything out and ran many a 5 mask.

Opening mailboxes, killing rares.

Speed run killing no rares openig no mailboxes.

Using no orbs.

Just trying different things.

I've probably done 200-300 visions between all my alts and main and I have never received a weapon transmog on any of them.

I have received 1 weapon transmog off of a rare in an assault on my DK. I think it was greatsword of cruelty.

I just wish there was something I can 100% know for sure. It's hopeful to see people post about getting it from a vision but I would feel better if there was some solid confirmation.

Just got this 2mins ago after completing 3 masks in Visions of Orgrimmar. It's a blue item and dropped from one of the five boxes at the end of the vision run. I looted it in one of the small boxes to the farthest right.

Tbh it looked like a pretty common drop until I checked here on wowhead cause it's just a blue item, mind you it's my first time clearing 3 masks in Orgrimmar, but I've done so many times in Stormwind and it never dropped there. So I assumed it's a 100% drop rate in Visions of Orgrimmar but turns out it's not.

I'm surprised this isn't mentioned anywhere here already, so I figured I should post:

Unlike most other cosmetic weapon drops from 8.3, this one here won't drop from rares at Uldum / Vale assaults. Instead, you can only get it to drop from Rexxar's chest at the end of an Orgrimmar Visions run, and only in very specific specs - in fact, I only know from BM / MM hunters to get it to drop.

Just got this on a five mask run through Org from the Overlord Geya'rah cache'. From what I see, the number of masks doesn't matter, but just wanted to pass along the info for others.

I received this bow from a Horrific Vision, when trying to get the mount. I don't know exactly which one it dropped from, as I was so focused on getting the mount, I didn't even realize I had the bow until hours after I was finished running visions. My issue, is I wanted this bow, I love the model and colors, but I can't use it! Reference screenshot. I have sent multiple bug reports to Blizzard on this matter, and they just don't seem to care. :(

Finally got it. Been doing 3-4 runs every even weeks for a few months now. Including BFA runs (when I didn't even know this existed), I estimate about 40 runs altogether.

The specific run I got it on was my first attempt for the week, with 5 masks active. I'm sure that's just how the luck worked out though, plenty of other comments from people getting it with few if any masks.

Ended up getting this after deciding on getting out of ZM for a while.

25 runs (not counting any while it was content) of zero mask Rexxar and Thrall only, skipping nearly all of the trash and every other objective as well. Runs were around 3 minutes, give or take 15 sec. So it still drops if you decide to do just the bare minimum.

I am currently at 100+ runs (exclusively doing Orgrimmar visions with and without masks full and half-runs), got the shroud to max level, we have the technology achievement, all corrupted mementos items from Wrathion, Mailmuncher mount, cannot count how many times I've received all the pets, Rajani and Uldum reps maxed out, but the bow... I guess this thing doesn't exist at this point, idk what 20-30 runs means, but yeah, you will farm this for a looong time, my god this is more annoying than farming Klatith's fang

This bow dropped for me today 18.04.2024. I was doing only Rexxar + Thrall with 5 masks.
