This fish is related to part 2 of the secret fish achievement series, Pesci segreti e dove trovarli.
To start this you'll need to complete part 1.

The goggles:
With the Occhiali dei Pesci Segreti buff applied a small fish in a bubble will spawn somewhere within 40 yards of you. If you have sound on you'll hear bubbles when it spawns then 5-10 seconds later the fish will become visible at which point you'll be able to click it. The fish can be clicked while mounted, you do not need to be in water for it to spawn and it will spawn every 25-30 seconds.

Best way to do this is find a spot that is flat and with few surrounding objects (trees, rocks, etc) and just spin your camera around until you see the bubble.

The Fish!
Each time you click the puffer you'll be given a random fish, most of the time it will be the white "junk" fish for whichever area you're in as well as the occasional grey item, with the exception of Dalaran where you'll commonly get coins usually caught from the eventide fountains.

Catchrate is quite low for many of these so expect to spend a fair amount of time for this.

I've split the fish into different catergories.

The common:
These fish can be caught anywhere at any time of the day, save these lot for last as you'll probably get most if not all of them hunting the others.

If you're still missing these after you catch the others, the best places to catch these are on the floating islands, like the ones scattered around Outland Nagrand (45.9, 59.9). The zone exclusive:
These fish can only be caught in specific zones and sometimes even in very specific areas within zones.
9. Merluzzo Sangue Marcio - Nazmir, Zul'Nazman.
10. Pesce Storico di Giada - Jade Forest.
11. Sogliola Tonante - Isle of Thunder.
12. Pesce Pagliaccio del Kirin Tor - Dalaran (Broken Isles/Northrend).
13. Sgombro Meccanizzato - Mechagon.
14. Delizia della Regina - Nazjatar.
15. Manapinna Antico - Suramar. Anywhere in the Suramar city harbour. (Credit to Roguezs).
16. Pesce Prigioniero - Tol Barad (PvP area). Anywhere in the zone, the bridge that connects the two islands is a great place for this one, just make sure you're on the PvP area side of it (check minimap).
17. Pesce di Fiordo Spinato - Howling Fjord.
18. Liscavile Morto - Argus, Krokuun and Antoran Wastes. (Credit to Padwarle and Neryssa).
19. Tortolliano da Acquario - Drustvar, under Anyport in the underwater Tortollan bar called 'The Drunk Tank'.
20. Platessa dell'Aria Rarefatta - Neverest Pinnacle, Kun-Lai Summit. (Credit to Qaccy and Pungyo).
21. Guardingo del Pozzo - Mount Hyjal, in the lake under Nordassil.
22. Pesciolino Annegato - Drowned Lands (46, 50) in Stormsong Valley. (Credit to Bobins666).
Note: With the exception of the Tank Deweller (Fish 19), these are confirmed locations and may not be the only location within the zones where they can be caught. For the Tortollan Tank Deweller, I was only able to catch it once I was in the very specific sub-zone (where the name changes above the minimap).

For those suffering from woeful luck with the rarer fish, like the Platessa dell'Aria Rarefatta, this was discovered by Asmundr.

To everyone who is having trouble looting some fish. You need to approach the places like Neverest and Nordrassil on foot without a flying mount (There is a small path just before the Neverest peak) Then the 100% dropchance Fishes don't bug out and are lootable once more (Thin Air Flounder and Well Lurker) Alternatively just use the goggles when standing at those places when they are off CD.

If you're still having issues, clearing your bags of all secret fish (vendor or delete them) may also fix it.

The time scheduled:
These fish can only be caught within certain times, while one is active, the other is not. Whichever fish is active at the time can be caught in any zone.
23. Pesceluna Elusivo - Night only. 9:30pm to 8am.
24. Assorbisole Dorato - Day only. 8am to 9:30pm.
Note: We're not sure on the specific day/night switch over time, the above is just based on the times we've been catching them. If you catch these outside of the posted times let me know. Make sure its server time, not your local time.

The dead:
These fish can only be caught while the player is dead. Once you're a ghost these fish can be caught in any zone. (Credit to FenixInfinito).

26. Pescevitreo Occhiuto
27. Galleggiante Silenzioso
28. Salmone Spirituale
Best place to catch these on any floating island, like the one directly behind the southern bank of Broken Isles Dalaran. Suicide by flying up and dismounting. This zone has ghost flying and if you stand on the edge of the island the fish will spawn in an arc around your character, shown here in green: https://i.imgur.com/vrIYGgB.jpg

The buffed:
29. Pesce Specchio Verde - Requires the Dipinto di Verde buff from the Mechagon mechanocat painting station (63, 42). This can be applied by walking over the green puddle on the station or having another player throw a Vescica Piena di Vernice Verde at you. (Credit to Sishrot).

The sporadic:
30. Pinnascarto Rimosso - Can be caught in the "future" version of Mechagon that Cromie sends you to for the quest L'altro posto. Unfortunately this daily is only available sporadically. (Credit to Lacrit).

For the thin air flounder, the 3 nodes at the top of the mountain are not "broken" if you look closely these nodes have severed fish heads inside instead of flopping/swimming fish like regular nodes. If you simply sell/destroy all the blue achievement fish that you have in your inventory, you will be able to loot these 3 nodes and instantly get the fish. Also if you sell the flounder you get right after, you can re loot this same node and then sell again for a basically infinite gold glitch that I believe is unintentional. So i do not recommend exploiting it.

Edit: It seems they patched it so fish have no selling price, so no more exploit. Also for some people they can just loot the fish regardless of what is in inventory, for everyone else the method of destroying the achievement fish still works perfectly. Hope everyone enjoys their mini ocean.

I found mine at 44.63, 52.19, use the goggles and walk up the mountain a little, just from around the corner and down the hill a bit is what i did and a fish head was floating in a clickable bubble. just click to loot him. Interestingly enough he has no sell price.

To loot this, remove all other rare fish from your inventory.

Removed all rare fishes from inventory, rode all the way up on groundmount and used the goggles on top, was not able to loot the bubbles :(
(EDIT) I take it back, one fish had gone missing between all the mechagon stuff and the usables from naz, after deleting the last blue fish I could loot the next bubble that spawned.

I'm not sure what the purpose of getting rid of previously looted fish is about. I went up to the top of the mountain and when I got there two bubbles were waiting for me. I clicked on one and it gave me the flounder. I hadn't taken anything out of my bags, I still had the half a dozen achievement fish I'd already found.

I few straight up to the top in druid flight form and looted the fish. They might have fixed the issues people have talked about previously.

There were two bubbles waiting for me, not clickable. I came here and removed all fish as advised here. Didn't work. Only after I deleted Tortollan Tank Dweller (the only one so far which I could not sell) it was working for me.

Took me several hours to complete this turns out i was in the wrong area thank you whoever said Never rest Pinnacle this is where i found mine

How to get Platessa dell'Aria Rarefatta:

remove all fishs in your bag
go to Pandaria > Kun-Lai Summit /way 44,64, 52,25 (ice mountain)
pick Platessa dell'Aria Rarefatta

I suggest everyone look on the largest mountain in kun lai summit for two bubbles. Top of the burlap trail I found mine after catching every other fish I could in the zone (I hope it a coincidence honestly because otherwise I wasted 2 hours for nothing D:). good luck all!

all of these are worthless, the map is Kun-lai - the pont it 44.41 52.52 and as high as you can fly, to the point where you see a 'shrine' looking thing that says 'Ren Yun the Blind' then you will INSTANTLY catch this fish.

Don't do like me .. I arrived there flying and I was hearing the bubble but didn't see any .. stayed 10 minutes to discover at the end that I was NOT WEARING my Goggle. I got the fish immediately when I put it on :D I didn't need to empty my bags or sell any looted fish. Just make sure you re-apply your goggles when they are off CD.

I was able to fly to Neverest and the fish immediately spawned. I got the Thin Air Flounder on the first try, with other fish in my bags.

It's on the peak of the tallest mountain. You'll find the statue of Ren Yun the Blind at the top. You'll find it there.
