So I found mine where everyone says they found theirs, but my issue was that someone looted it before I could and it disappeared. I waited a bit and it respawned. So if you can't see it there, just wait a moment.

1 hour... I spent 1 $%^&ing hour flying around, looking for a stupid book that was nowhere to be found! And annoying enemies were everywhere... this is not fun, it's horribly designed. Whoever designed this quest should be fired ASAP...

Random Location, it may bug, that is if you don't find the damn diary in the area (see suggested locations below), try to abandon the quest, relog, reload ui or exit the game and retake the quest. Generally I always found it in the suggested locations below:

Oh and last, but certainly not least useful debug method for the area, turn off your war mode.

I think there might be a bug, when you have the cursed coin debuff, you can't see the diary. I searched for no avail for 30 minutes, abandoned the quest, and came back 30 mins later with no debuff, and found it instantly.
