Im almost sure this item is on a 1 hour to 1.5 hour timer... got it after 1 hour and 7 min.. with noone else around... :( beats a 3 hour timer on some items

Danger Will Robinson! The formula is not at all related to the JC pattern. I've kept buying the JC pattern over and over, then got annoyed and gave up, and realized that they both were up at the same time when I came back later on.

Again: Buying the JC pattern does not affect the spawn timer on the formula at all!

Take a look at the screenshot I added for proof (lol). The enchanting recipe doesn't have the (1) limited supply note on it because I had just bought it on that screenie.

I've bought the JC design 20 times now, still no formula. Extremely annoying. The design re-spawns roughly every 5 minutes or so, and I bought it every time. No formula, though. I eventually gave up getting this pattern. Tough luck, I guess.

I just saw the formula with the npc in darnassus but when i tried to buy it says item is not available, i was the only person talking with him.

so what i think its just 1 item at the same time for both allience and horde

I waited for 35mins and got it. In our sever the money I saved with power lvling 265-290 with this than any other recipe was 550g. (Skullcrusher, pvp). I highly recommend for you power lvlers to wait for the respawn if you arent an uber-rich person. :P

+7 Stam to bracer is the BEST alternative to this. At half the reagents (5 dream dust) it is an easy skill up to 285.

I've used this all the way to 300(where it is STILL yellow).
The price for this compared to illusion dust (enchant cloak - superior defence = 8x illusion dust) is just a drop in the ocean.
Illusion dust on my server is rather expensive - 5g per dust, as compared to dream dust wich sells for around 75s pr dust.

After you pass 285 you might not get skillups on every try, but i never had more than 3 attempts pr skillup. Most of the time i got the skill with just one try tho.

Be sure to look all the way to the last page for the recipe! The defense one's usually on the front page as it's a green, but this is a white which can be the last item listed.

If you lack a shield to enchant, this guy is the shield merchant in Darnassus. A small shield sells for 31c so it's almost certainly going to be cheaper than grabbing one off the AH.

Maybe it's just me, but does it seem a bit redundant that there is a spawn timer on a BoP item, as if we were going to buy a whole bunch of them just to sell them back to the vendor at 1/4 the price...

Bought the bracer formula - found the shield formula on the first page, about 20 mins later.

(The trader doesn't even have 4 pages of items to sell, I guess his inventory took a hit during the Cataclysm :P)

This is a fabulous enchant to learn to get out of the Enchanting doldrums of 275/300.

Normally it is typical to recommend Illusion Dust (obtained by vanilla items intended for use by 55-60 players) to make countless bottles of Wizard Oil and using about 100 + Illusion Dust which is damn expensive. I was using a so-called "Leveling guide" for enchanting and I'm about ready to tell them to jump off a cliff.

By far and wide, the easier way to level enchanting. Thank you Wowhead!

Just take the advice here and get your Formula on your enchanter (Yes it's Bind on Pickup!). I got mine from UC's Daniel Bartlett (he's located right on the upper balcony almost to the far NORTH exit but a touch Northwest, the same balcony as the Innkeeper and Flightmaster). It's limited supply; you MAY have to wait.

ETA: I purchased this at 275 and learned the item; the items were ORANGE to me (guaranteed skill up) until 285 where they turned YELLOW; remaining 1:1 skill up per scroll until 290. At 290, you can learn Runed Arcanite Rod; make that for a free skill up. So now, say that you are 291, and you want to hit 300, so you just have 9 skillups to go; you can do that in 14 scrolls (maybe fewer if you do something else like doing a quest between making scrolls, rather than mass-produce scrolls --- for some reason you can level faster if you don't push yourself). I did it in 14 by taking my time during scroll-making.

This is the single best way of getting up to 300 Enchanting, I was just getting a butt-ton of Dream Dust and wasting loads of money on Essence before I found this gem of a recipe.

It's still there! Just Bought it on my Monk on 2013-June-26.

I almost Gave up reading the posts starting patch 5.x...

But luckily i got a bugged dungeon and got teleported back to UC. and i figured why not check 1 last time...

And it WAS THERE! I bought it, leveled my Chanting to 300+!

Got there and was just the jc recipe,went for a snack and when I came back poof there it was both.I wold say it was like 15m respawn time.

If you have competition and you want to buy it as quick as possible run this macro

/run for i=1,GetMerchantNumItems() do local l=GetMerchantItemLink(i) if l then if l:find(16217) then BuyMerchantItem(i, quantity)end end end

simply open the vendor and spam the macro (requires vendor window open),keep closing window to refresh vendor list. IT WILL buy even if you are not on page 3.

(16217) is the item id for the shield enchant, you can test the macro with something like the jeweler's kit (20815) on page 3 to verify that it's working.

I had trouble getting this pattern.
After camping the merchant for 2+ hours without luck i tried somthing different. Since im playing with 2 accounts i made a new char on a very low pop server and invited my main to a group.
My main then got transfered to the low pop server and lo and behold i could buy the pattern.
