High level herb used in a lot of important end game raiding pots. Best gathered (imo) around the edges in Un'goro, Silithus, Felwood and Winterspring.

Still a very good herb, Mountain Silversage is/was used for multiple flask recipes, for Major Healing Potions, and Elixir of Mongoose.

Before BC my best spot for it was Un'goro Crater. It grows in high, rocky areas. If you took the time to circle the outer edge of the crater you could have found a lot that way.
Another good spot is in Felwood; around the green oozy lake bridge, there is a rocky part north of it.

In BC, you can use Mountain Silversage for
Onslaught Elixir
Elixir of Major Strength
which still makes it quite a valuable plant. It grows all around Hellfire Peninsula and if you're lucky enough to have an epic flying mount, you can grab a lot of these in very little time. Spawn points are the usual high mountains and rocky zones so having a flying mount of any kind is a major advantage.

This herb is still used for "Flask of Supreme Power," which is still the top flask for casters, and will remain so after patch 2.1.

I an new to this Posting Board , so forgive me If ai do not Post correctly, I wanted to buy some Mountian Silverage in Goldshire from Lhara the point on the map shows just south of the town,

Well I looked every where and can not find Her, Has she Maybe been moved?

If she has can someone help me find her or the Mountain Silver age .

So after one circuit of Un'Goro, I found three Silversages and got seven actual pieces from them. It doesn't seem like much, but it's better odds than most places. Quick and easy.

The buyout price says 1g each, but on my server they usually sell for around 35-40g a stack.
I farm them in Un'Goro when I'm low on cash. If you start in Marshall's refuge and go around the outer perimeter, I usually have at least 3/4 a stack by the time I get back to the Refuge. Very easy to get to if you're high enough to not agro anything, but even then, there's usually not to many monsters around the plant.

Though no longer used at endgame, this is still quite a valuable herb for people trying to grind Alchemy, and it fetches a decent price (at least on my server) because there's hardly ever any on the AH, due to it being such a pain in the butt to find.

My advice, head to Hellfire Peninsula! I tried Felwood and Azshara (the two most plentiful places for it according to most guides I've seen), and my poor land mount was carefully picking its way around hugely complicated mountain paths, taking forever and hardly finding any.

In Hellfire Peninsula, I just happened to find several of these while searching for Dreaming Glory, as both grow in the mountains. Way too easy to just fly around the entire zone's border (which is pretty much ALL mountains) and swoop in when you find one. I'm suprised at how many grow here, since HP is generally recommended for just Felweed.

So, if you're trying to find this neat herb, Hellfire Peninsula is the place to go!

Just milled 3 Stacks, gave 4 Sapphire Pigment, but each time only one, never 2 or 3 as indicated in the Milling Tab. I know, these are no big numbers, but the poor outcome stopped me from further milling :)
Gave 19 Silvery Pigment though, never just 1, about 50/50 2 or 3 and once 4. Seems to be the same with similar Milling targets as Dreamfoil and Golden Sansam

Since Cataclysm, I've found the best place to go for this is Winterspring.
Only 2 different kinds of herbs grow there as far as i could see, and both are in abundance, 1 of which is Mountain Silversage all up on the hilly bits, and the other is Icecap that grows on the flatter areas (for those of you levelling Alchemy, Icecap can be handy for 285+)

Currently in Hellfire Peninsula, you can find Mountain Silversage, Felweed, Dreaming Glory, Golden Samsan and even Nightmare Vine (in the throne area only) all along the edges and mountain ledges of the zone. There isnt gigantic amounts of MSS or Dreaming Glory, but they are all there and no need to go to multiple zones or through the portal anymore! :D One pass around the whole zone yields 3/4 of a stack of MSS.

If you need lots of MSS go to Winterspring, got 2 full stacks in 10 min.

Winterspring is a great place to find Mountain Silversage, and also Icecap. If you leave from Everlook and head west staying south of the road you'll find mostly Icecap. If you turn at Timbermaw and head back east staying north of the road you'll find more MSS. Take note that these are found mostly at the base of the mountains, hence the name. Following this route with my lvl 85 on a flying mount I gathered 55 in roughly the 15 mins or so it took to stop and gather. On that same route I had 94 Icecap. Both can be used to level Alchemy.

I can say that Winterspring is a very good place to farm this herb.As a 85 with epic flying i made 1 trek around the edges of winterspring and got 69 Mountian silversage and 41 ice cap. good place to get it took me about 15 to 20 mins to get that much.

2 laps around the mountains of Winterspring granted me 96 Mountain Silversage and 34 Icecap. Great place to farm these two herbs.

My basic herbalism skill had to be 260 before I stopped getting Mountain Silversage Stalk in lieu of the actual herb itself.
