Use this key to unlock the outhouse near the Grimesilt Digsite. You can find this by entering the Searing Gorge via Badlands. Once you enter, head to left and the dig site is right there. The Outhouse is behind it up on a little hill. Click on the Outhouse for the Quest Stuck! and after completing that, you can get 'Ledger from Tanaris' http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=4450

As of the 2.1 patch this item no longer is put into your keyring, and instead will take up a slot in your inventory.

I can confirm that this is trade-able, and therefore can be sold on AH.
If your not actually in the need of this quest, I recommend to put it in as a bid item, you'll be surprised you much you can earn through this key - I earned 76g myself.

Note for parties: only one can drop per mob kill, and while it is tradeable, you need to be holding it to complete the quest.

It says not available in game anymore. I can confirm this is NOT true. I just picked one up 1 minute ago.

This is one of the WIREDEST removed quests ever!

The 'Grimesilt Outhouse Key' can still be picked up and the outhouse can still be activated, bringing up a dialogue box that says only 'Hello?', but if you have the key right-clicking on the outhouse removes it from your inventory.

So if there's still somebody in there, and the key can still be found, why is the quest no longer available?

It says this item is no longer available in game but it just dropped for me while i was questing in "The Slag Pit." Does it not do anything now?

Just got one when killing dark iron dwarves in the slag pit... no sure why it's marked "no longer available".

Just like many other obsolete quest items, this has been re-added to the game in a recent patch, likely by accident.

Please stop posting that it is "still" in game, it was readded and will probably be removed with WoD.

Just got this as a drop while questing in Searing Gorge. Came here to see if someone had commented on its use. Decided to check out the outhouse anyway. The outhouse can still be interacted with. When you click on it a dialogue box pops open with the text "Hello?"

Please don't remove this item Blizz! Even though the quest is outdated, it's still a nice piece of nostalgia for us old-time players when we come back to Searing Gorge with a new alt!Old London song:"Oh dear, what can the matter be,Three old ladies got locked in the lavatory,They were there from Monday to Saturday,Nobody knew they were there!"

Gravius Sabbiatetra seems to wonder around the dig site and up to the outhouse. Yep, it is his dig site and his outhouse. But you do not need to have the key in order to click on the outhouse and get the "Hello?" text.

4/6/2016 - its been out of date since some time in 2014....I've gotten a few other obsolete items like this, and just landed this one for the second time....why don't they just remove them entirely so that newer or returning players going through the older content to get caught up with the story lines don't spend 30 minutes searching for an answer? Or are they purposefully leaving things messy after random patches and expansions, or perhaps for nostalgia as someone else suggested? If I did this at work (Database admin...leaving random usesless procs running or useless variables defined and assigned eating memory...) I'd be fired... Annoying...

regardless....I play on :-P

I realize I've necro'd yet another old thread, but hey, its better than starting a new one.

As of PTR 7.0.3 this item still hangs on for dear life, forgotten by Blizzard forever. Never to be removed or re-enabled.
Hang in there, little key, you'll outlast us all.

As of patch 7.1.5, this item still drops. Although, it did not do anything for me. It used to start a quest back in vanilla, but this quest has been removed. Even going to the outhouse manually will do nothing.

Still drops in 7.3! Was trying to get the Shadoweave Mask recipe at the excavation site in eastern Searing Gorge when this key dropped from one of the excavation dwarves next to the outhouse this key was used on before the quest was removed from the game. (p.s. the Shadoweave Mask recipe only drops from Dark Iron Steamsmiths in the central/north area of Searing Gorge and not these excavators).

As of 12/03/2017, it still drops! =-) I was startled that Gravius Grimesilt challenged me to get out of his dig-site L.o.L.! But sadly, the key does nothing, the outhouse DOES respond "Hello?", when you click on the gear. Wooo-hoooo, too bad.
