What is Lorewalking in World of Warcraft?

Meet the Ethereals: Travel to Netherstorm to fight Dimensius, meet up with Alleria and Locus Walker in Legion, and head into the Shadowlands to meet the Brokers and gain access to Tazavesh. You’ll also meet up with Ve'nari.

Experience Xal’atath’s Storyline: Learn more about the Blade of the Black Empire in Legion, see how Xal’atath gained her body in Battle for Azeroth, and go back in time to the Black Empire to experience Xal’atath’s encounter with the Old Gods.

Face the Past with Arthas: Return to Stratholme for a condensed version of the culling, feel the stinging cold of betrayal in Wrath of the Lich King, and confront old memories as you step into the role of the Lich King as he faces down the heroes of Azeroth.

Yogg-Saron can be summoned from the spawning pit in the Maw of Gor'ma.

To summon Y'shaarj, leave the Maw of Gor'ma and run to the entrance of the nearby temple. Standing at this entrance should cause Cammino del Prescelto to appear as an ability and teleport you to the temple's roof. Standing near the edge of the temple's roof will give you the option to use Cammino del Prescelto to teleport back down.

Cammino del Prescelto will appear back on your bars after finishing this quest. Clicking it will teleport you back to Xithixxin.

Its bugged. Im now starting the Lich King one over for the 3rd time. WOnt progress.

This is incredibly buggy. First, my quest progress in the Scarlet Monastery wasn't tracked. Then I got stuck as the Lich King after killing all the raiders at the top of Icecrown Citadel -- couldn't progress until I teleported out and redid it. Then when I tried to start the Ethereal quest, I was dropped off out in the middle of the ocean. I teleported back to Cho before I died, but now talking to him doesn't give me any dialog options and the quest is stuck at the "talk to Cho" step.

having a glitch where aggro/taunt ablities will not work on the mobs in the lich king hall of reflection. even spamming taunt will not work and everything attacks and will kill jaina within one wall

"Experience" some great lore moments at a snail's pace, using 2-3 lame abilities, only to be unable to complete event due to a number of bugs they apparently missed during the 8 hour reset.. Shame on me for even trying the "new" thing. I should have known it would be bugged for a minimum 24-48 hours.

why isn't it instanced? or at least somehow phased? the ethereal portion in Netherstorm is a nightmare...
I guess it will get better after few days, but this really was no fun

heavily bugged im in the Lich lorewalking and cant get out... theres no way to leave!

some of the bugs can be bypassed by calling lorewalker cho and asking him a lore question and then it kind of hard resets whatever part you were on.

How do you move the box "LOREWALKING"? It is behind the objective tracker and I can't read the objective I'm working on and I have tried everything I can think of to move it. HUD Edit mode doesn't work and Blizzard says there is no problem.

I did a good section the Xal'atath lorewalking questline, turned it in at CHO, did NOT pick up another lorewalking quest, and went on playing the game as normal in Dornogal (except lorewalking was on without me noticing). Tried to craft things for the weekly crafting quest, it did not register. My quest log was not there. I finally noticed the lorewalking doodad and exited. Apparently this mode takes over the game without notice, it does not use the standard 'enter an instance - leave an instance' but puts a doodad on your map. Googled it and saw how many people were getting stuck in lorewalking. Blizzard, send this back to beta, we need to be able to play the rest of the game normally rather than being stuck in a buggy new mode.

Ugh... why is it all so frickin' boring? We've done Arthas' story to death (no pun intended), who cares about the ethereals and Xalatath... well, we're technically still ON HER STORY.

I'm working on the Arthas story right now and when you begin his "ascent" at ICC, you're dropped off in the WotLK version of ICC where the Alliance and the Horde have already broken through the main gates with Argent Crusaders and Ebon Blade banners everywhere and the big battering ram in front of the main gates. You can interact with the meeting stone for the raid and because no one actually put any thought into this content, you can literally attack the scourge "RP" mobs that attack the Argent Crusaders which literally blows my mind at how stupid this whole thing is.

And Lorewalker Cho saying "was Arthas really gone? Did only the Lich King remain? It is not for me to say". We're sitting here listening to a story that WE ALREADY KNOW THE END OF.

Between this and horrific visions revisits, have they really, truly run out of ideas?

For my characters the NPC's that I fought and that are in the areas where I was doing the Lorewalking are the same level as my characters.

Is this the same voice actor from Pandaria's Lorewalker Cho (Jim Cummings)? The voice sounds slightly different, with more lisp.

At 11pm PST on Friday, was able to complete the Ethereals chain with no issues. However, I received as a reward the Sunsoul Girdle (plate belt) three different times. As alluded to in the guide, it was well below what I already had, but I was excited for collecting old transmog and was kind of hoping SOMETHING other than the same piece of gear. Anyone else getting the same piece of loot over and over again? Is it a bug, on purpose, or is my RNG just garbage for this event?

Is the scaling broken? All enemies have really low HP and do no damage. Level 80 at 670 ilvl.

How do you complete the Lorewalking: The Blade and The High Priest? I can kill the 2 that attack me, but I am unable to reach the Deacon. I've turned off my add-ons, logged out/in, repeated the quest line from the first sequence and I still do not have a way to slay the priest. Any suggestions would be most helpful!

Is there a way to get the initial choice screen rescaled down to size? It's currently stretched past the bottom of my screen, so any buttons to choose which tale to play are show "off camera" as it were. The only thing I can say for sure is /fstack shows it as being GlobalFXDialog but there's no way to resize it as far as I can tell

ETA: I did a /console reloadui and that fixed it. I don't know why I didn't try that first, it's usually one of my first go-to's.

Is it just me, or are other players displayed differently during Lorewalking? I'm going through Xal’atath’s storyline and I see tons of players as "High Priest" and I doubt that name was available...

The crate of memorabilia contains appearances you'd get from the Gear Update feature. Depending on RNG, this is probably much faster than waiting 60 days per character.
