Basic Ember Court Procedure

Stage 1: Preparation - 60 seconds - The first stage gives you time to get your bearings and get a head start at setting the Court Atmosphere. You'll be able to interact with Staff members and give them instructions, talk with some guests to get buffs, and interact with a few objects to set the mood.

Stage 2: Party - 480 seconds - At this stage, your guests will arrive and begin to wander the grounds. Objectives will activate and begin to appear on the map. You'll now be able to directly interact with all court activities and events, such as your entertainment, and start serving your refreshments.

Stage 3: Closing - When Stage 2 ends, the party essentially ends. Your guests will now gather and give their final opinion of the party. Each of them will give you a reward based on their final mood. Collect your tribute.

Happiness is the top factor; a Miserable guest will reward you with nothing, no matter what. An Elated guest will reward you with the best rewards they can offer.

The guest's home realm will impact the theme of the rewards you will get. Any rewards from the guest are likely to be tied to their home realm in the Shadowlands. Dama Baccaluna is likely to give you rewards themed from Selvarden while Architetto della Piaga Marileth will give you rewards themed from Maldraxxus.

Guests are unique and offer their own set of rewards. The 4th guest on the guest list will generally offer you the highest quality of rewards.

Your friendship level with a guest unlocks more potential rewards that a particular guest can offer you as tribute.

I regret building this.
Spent 1-2 hours doing boring, chore-like quests.
Then got to do the Court Scenario. It's confusing and incredibly poorly explained.
Did manage to get a pretty decent "score" and netted 880 Court of Harvester reputation, something that is not hard to come by...
And I have absolutely no idea what's supposed to be fun about it.

In my first Ember Court scenario I spent 90% of the time fighting off the mobs that spawned from that ritual the people were doing. Is this normal? Is this what I was supposed to do, or should I better have ignored the mobs and done the bonus objectives, or some other stuff I wasn’t aware?

So far the reward for all of the prep and maintenance work this activity requires has been pretty disappointing. For example getting the contract for Tubbin's Tea Refreshment literally sends you to the heavy elite Tirna Scithe area where you have to try to kill 20 enemies (40 total, but the other 20 are in a normal area). All of that so I can spend a very rushed 8 minutes doing mini-games once a week for green drops? I'm sure this is one of those "better in the long run" things but it definitely seems like it's going to be very long.

Meanwhile my Night Fae character spends mere minutes every few days to plant his spirits and harvest them and Necrolords gets a minion to help them do world quests (I'm not familiar with the bastion version). The effort versus reward here seems pretty lame. I wish we got a "Retainer" NPC that followed us around and casted useful spells on us from the sidelines or something, that would make me feel more noble and courtly even if it was mostly fluff.

Other thoughts:
* Why are NPCs I don't even have the reputation to purchase showing up in my guest list?
* I spent over 200 infused rubies trying to get the Countess (my story quest said I unlocked her) but she must be reserved for one of the guest slots I haven't unlocked yet because I cycled through the list a lot.
* Droman Aliothe better give one helluva reward for all of the work her RSVP quest requires (Corno di Grifalco della Morte a Spirale)

After the Ember Court has ended, Prince Renathal gives you the option to ask the guests to move to a different location.
That seems like something that he should do while the event is actually happening, doesn't it?
I tried talking to him during so he would do that, but that ended up being a waste of time :(
Also there is no happiness/cleanliness/whatever bar to keep track of after the event has ended, so I don't know if including the guests directly in the events actually affects their happiness more or not -.-

I finished the tutorial scenario, and Theotar was offering me three quests; I was tired and decided that was a good break point. The next day, Theotar had no quests for me, and Temel is nowhere to be seen. He's not back upstairs with the Curator. The Court seems to be set up up on the ground level, but nobody has any quests for me. I checked the Ember Ward; nothing. I even checked the crossroad over to the east of the zone where one of the quests sent me; nada. I also can't find a list of the quests to check to see what I have credit for.

How can I get back on track to start this?

This scenario is very confusing, and it's just not enough time to figure out things. I am no good in timed activities. Does anyone have a list of events (they usually are marked as a star on the map). I wasted so much time on just figuring out what I should do. During first scenario I killed an elite mob - that was the only one obvious goal. During second and third courts I had no clue - i found a female night fae that I can ride (shrug), but then I had no idea how to complete the event. I wish Blizzard would add some objective descriptions. I was so exited to start doing Amber Court. Now I am really frustrated. I hope anyone can give tips on Amber Court events.

If you have already unlocked someones RSVP once, do you have to do their RSVP quest again when you get them a second time?

Edit: Can confirm that you need to do the RSVP quests again, tried to start the scenario without doing any quests and got the following error message - "At least one guest must RSVP before you open court"
When reviewing the guest list it will say RSVP Received or No RSVP under their image

Anyone unlock the traditional decorations and figure out how to put out the fires from the candles? Didn't want to spend too much time looking around and can't seem to find any information about it anywhere.

EDIT: So today I found Acqua Infusa d'Animum in a tribute chest from Sika. It adds little buckets around the court that you can pick up and use to douse fires. I figured I would be able to put out the fires if I invited a guest that cared about safe/dangerous but here we are.

Since Blizzard's UI is garbage when it comes to this event, I've made a collection of WeakAura's that can help guide your way:

Ember Court Notes

When you speak to one of the party organizers (eg. Lord Garridan, Hips, Picky Stefan, Boot the Beaut), a list of notes will be attached to the side of the player choice frame.
These notes contain reminders of what choices provide what atmosphere traits.
Also shows the full guest list, to help you pick and chose which guests you wish to host.

Ember Court RSVP Reminder

When you have Temel selected, this WA will scan your bags for all the RSVP items and put a text reminder on the screen, alerting you to the fact that you may not have consumed them.
This particular WA came about when I hosted my Ember Court, and no one showed up because while I had done everything right, I simply had forgotten to CONSUME the items. Please Blizz...

Ember Court Theotar Reminder

When you have Temel selected, it simply places a large text reminder to change your Soulbind to Theotar the Made Duke so that you can take advantage of Anima della Festa

So I decided to upgrade the Ember Court to level 2 hoping that there might be some benefit such as more reputation gains or something. What did I get for my 12 souls upgrade cost? A mini-pet that supposedly helps you out at the ember court.

The thing is though, when I ran the scenario the butler was nowhere to be seen and if I tried to summon him it told me he was already present somewhere. I spent nearly the entire time looking for him and he was nowhere in sight and didn't provide any benefits that I could tell.

Save your souls and upgrade something else unless you just really want a mini-dredger you can do some minor customization to.

Edit: This is fixed. The Dredger Butler is located inside the tower you start in. However he still doesn't appear to do anything, you either give him the day off or ask him to fight off uninvited guests and I didn't see any benefits earned from it (I chose fighting off uninvited guests this week).

I like the Venthyr theme and abilities. However, this weekly event plus all the tedious prep for it, is rivaling Archaeology on my list of worst time-wasting, least-rewarding activities in WoW. I'm disappointed they spent time and money developing this feature, what a waste.

as of 1-5 ive been having issues with the ember court Decorations not 'selecting' from the dredger, for the beginning of the court scenario.

No matter which option I pick of the two i cannot get it to pop completion.

Ticket is in.

ETA: had to raid after, when I returned it was able to be completed after I again changed the decorations, then changed them back to what I needed.

From a bit of testing, it appears that the buffs the regular court guests give don't do anything. The speed buff certainly has no effect on your walking or mounted speed; they remain baseline no matter how many you get. The damage buff also appeared to not increase my damage done from and static damage procs.

Does anyone know how to complete the pre event to "mingle with the guests" ? i never seem to get it done no matter how fast i am and i'm not sure if i'm just supposed to talk to the guests or something else. Also i'm guessing it's a bug but some events randomly don't complete sometimes, such as the Food fight, even when i'm 15/15 and hit all my guests to be sure, sometimes it would complete other times it just doesn't throughout the whole scenario no matter how many times i try... it's really frustrating because half the time i can't even understand clearly what i'm supposed to do...

Have been encountering a bug with Ember Court, and have reported it. Blizzard has acknowledged the bug, but have said they have discovered no fix or work around for it.

The bug is this: Currently I've never been able to invite more than 1 guest to the Ember Court (even though I just started rank 3 of it).

At this point, several guild members have reported they are able to invite two or three at a time (depending on if they've unlocked rank 3).

Has anyone else encountered this bug, and more importantly, has anyone discovered a work around for it? Ember court, and court 'guest' rep is tediously slow when you're stuck with only 1 guest at a time.

Good news! Turns out the Dredger Butler isn't entirely useless after all. His two default options (mingle with guests and protect the party from uninvited guests) do nothing so far as I can tell.

However, Pelagos and Kleia gave me a "Bastion Etiquette" book in their chest that I was able to give to him. At my next party I had a new option telling him to make the party more hospital to our Bastion guests and throughout the party I kept getting random "Bonus Happiness (Pelagos and Kleia)" pop-ups.

Don’t be mounted on Sinrunner Blanchy before entering the scenario. You will get the mounting/unmounting sound effect for the rest of the time ringing in your ear. Got cheated out of a run when trying to fix it.

You can challenge guards to a duel, which increases the combat capabilities of both you and the NPC when you win. (+300% health, +100% damage dealt, or something really absurd like that for the NPC, +5% leech for you.)

Just, uh, if you have Stoneborn Reserves activated... don't challenge the Sinfall Brutalizers. You will find out that they live up to their name -very- quickly.

EDIT: ...and yes, you need to have the Maldraxxi Challenge Banner to be able to do this, as Naks said below. ...It was one of the first things I unlocked and didn't pay enough attention when I just installed it as an option.

I have a BIG QUESTION and i din't find any answere about that: i want to swich covenant venthyr to kyryan for the last two mythic boss... but i want to know if i will lost all EMBER COURT progress (reputation and progress achivement) and all levels of my builded buildings.

they are a lor of farmed months and i dont want to repeat all this farm when i will rejoin again venthyr...

someone can explain me this?

During this week's event, I noticed Leccastoppi was standing in front of my refreshment table, and acted like a vehicle. When I clicked on him, it started what seemed like an event where I was supposed to serve various guests, similar to the Revendreth world quest where you serve food to the various party guests. However, I had not actions that I could see or use. Possibly an ElvUI related bug? Anyone had any experience with this NPC?

The 9.0.5 patch bring a new reward when we become best friend with guest. We unlock a permanent invitation for this guest for all our characters !

I have a sneaking suspicion that 9.0.5 has made it so you cannot roll guests that are duplicate of the guest-set you ran with in the most recent Court. The reason being is that I have spent nearly 200 rubies trying to re-roll the same guest set so I can work on maxing them all together and have not seen a single repeat. If it is not outright prevention then it is fixing the odds to be massively reduced.

EDIT: I finally got a repeat after spending another 100. The odds to get a repeat seem reduced but it is still possible.

After a few weeks I finally managed to find four Gingillo Magicos to give to Mikanikos:

On a ledge in the tower where you start the Ember Court with Temel. Climb the rubble inside the tower, then the stairs to the south, then jump from above down to the ledge with the curio
On the right side of the pavilion where you get the guest list from Lord Garridan
Climb to the top of the northern walls bordering Sinfall and follow them until you reach the northeastern tower (there is a pavilion and a ballista nearby)
To the right of the gate where the guests first come in (when looking from inside the court) on a box under a stone overhang

Is there a way to finish this annoyance prematurely without loosing all tributes?

Actually, while writing, my Ember Court is still running at minute 8 or so, and I don't know what more to do, and most remaining stuff are vehicle-interface quests which I refuse to do either way, or stuff where I don't know what to do at all. I think I'll stop pumping anima into that thing and let it rot at tier 2 or 3 or wherever I am.

Well, that being said, never got any good reward anyway, so it probably doesn't matter at all.

Should have sent all my toons to Maldraxxus, the Stitchyard is some fun at least, and less of a chore.

PS: Now the chore has ended and (again) I got april's fool rewards like "Fluorescent Slime Sample: When obtained: You start to glow for 1 hour." Well then, nothing left to say. Think this was my last Ember Court for a looong time.

32k achiev here. so to say i played quite a lot around this game.
but very tired of this stupid extention. This ember court event, so much unfriend, so much WTF! i've alt on each covenant, this special is the worse (while other are quite useless but at least playable in a decent manner

right now, i'm waiting fly then i may try it again. So not motivated to run all around to do the associated quest.

Some awesome people have expanded the guides for the Ember Court but I will leave this post here for reference.

- You can queue with other players while in a party together. All guest players can use their Riserva dell'Ambasciatore to extend the time. Otherwise they are restricted from interacting with much other than the smaller loot bags on the tribute table.
- Favori della Corte items from tribute chests require that you are at "Friend" reputation with the guest. Mounts don't seem restricted by said rep though.
- Mondano della Corte delle Braci buffs appear to work as of 9.1 I got to over 200% runspeed. It took a lot of stacks though so that's a lot of downtime chatting with socialites.
- Dueling guards gives you leech and them 5x damage. Handy for spots you plan to drag enemies to.
- ***Careful with any ui addons like Elvui.*** The entire event does not play nice with all of the vehicle bars involved.

--- Arsenals - I'm currently 3/4 while still working on Maldraxxus. So far they are pretty unimpressive. They'll be on weapon racks in the nook along the ramp down to the elevator.
--- Protective Braziers - Mikanikos's Tribute. Up on the ramparts by the tower there is a kyrian dude. Talk to him, get his torch or whatever and light all of the braziers along the ramparts. Buffs all friendlies including yourself with -50% damage.
--- Bounding Shroom Seeds - Choofa's Tribute. They give you some shortcut options around the court. you interact with them to bounce but will need to aim carefully with some of them.
--- Dredger Party Supplies - Rendle & Cudgelface's Tribute. The dredger pool now has a bartender. He sells drinks and some barrels of some sort. No idea if there's more to it than that.
--- Vanity Mirror - Countess's Tribute. Guy on 2nd floor of the tower can be talked to to get the mirror. It's essentially a S.E.L.F.I.E. Camera that gives +happiness to guests in the frame. I think it may only give the happiness once total.
---Slippery Muck - Stonehead's Tribute. New NPC that will be around the refreshments area that you can talk to for a CLEAN or MESSY option. You can chase and eventually catch him if you choose the messy option. No idea as to if that counts for something or triggers anything.

Some clarifications on what I'm guessing is outdated info from the PTR as well as other misc. stuff:

- You don't have access to any people that will 'set the mood' until rank 5. You can still use prep time for other things but Stefan, Hips, and so on don't handle that.
- The debris on the ground, Happy Scrubbers, and other things like that do not seem to count as events. I believe that Professionisti interact with them to shift the mood of the party.
- At least for me, some events auto complete at the end of the prep time. I know Abbassa le tue Aspettative did for me this week. I believe the other one was Ora del Tè but am not certain.
- In my opinion, once you have a few party favors, it is very easy to have all of your guests elated even if they have some conflicting interests. So, it may be beneficial for you to form your guest list based on achievements you want or specific items you want from their tributes.

You need to do a guest's RSVP 8-9 times (including 1 after best friend) to get a permanent invitation for them. This was not calculated with Darkmoon Faire and other rep bonuses, just an elated score with the guest on every court. So for example take 9 berries for the Ardenweald bear if you are always reaching elated with him and be done with it.

The way the Revoke Invitation works is absolutely terrible.

As usual the bad designers at Blizz use lazy RNG so I kept getting the same Guest over and over again. Went through about 100 rubies and saw only about 3 Guests (even though I have 8 listed in my rep page and I know there are several undiscovered). Seriously, these guys are terrible...

Edit, my bad. What I didn't know is every slot of guests only rotates between 4 Guests. So if you have 4 slots for a Guest you can have 16 different Guests. So every time you get a new slot (by increasing your rep with Ember Court) you're opening up 4 new Guests.

Am I crazy or there are undocumented changes to the Ember Court as of 9.1? The court seems to grant the double amount of reputation (finally! Was about time) and the RSVP quests do not appear on the map anymore?

I haven't seen anyone mention (in a guide or a comment) "The Professionals" that you get from maxing out the Ember Court level. You can only enlist 1 per court and each of them can move one of the 5 bars in either direction:

Clean vs Messy: Breakfist is down in the dredger pools
Humble vs Decadent: Crooked Crick is in the refreshments area
Casual vs Formal: Lady Ilinca is in the embassy area
Relaxing vs Exciting: Cosmin the Illusionist is on the stage
Safe vs Dangerous: Wing Commander Vulpek is at the front gates

I know they summarize all of that in a quest you get right after unlocking it, but once you hand in the quest, it's gone and if you don't remember the name of quest, it's not easy to find again.

Almost everything I need to reference when doing this scenario, week to week, is on this page, so I thought I'd comment on this missing piece, now that I've finally unlocked it! ^_^

There is an inn at Sanctuary of the Mad to log out at /way 31, 47, with a mailbox if you need to shuffle items for the restocking. Saves you having to go in to Sinfall.

If you have patience and you are not in a hurry, there is a way to make this work in your favor. I picked the same choices for five weeks. In the fifth week, I was Buddy - Best friend status with three of them and Revered with the Ember Court. I do have to mention I had already done two very bad parties with two of these guests but depending on your ability to meet objectives it will help.

My four guests, once the fourth slot opened:

Grandmaster Vole
Hunt Captain Korayn
Lady Moonberry

Along with the Venthyr Volunteers, Mortal Mirrors, and the Lost Chalice Band, as I opened those options, I made it to Revered within five weeks. The last thing for me to open was the Maldraxxian Army, which just opened for me after I did all of my guest's RSVPs. Make sure you check with your vendors all through the week. As you do quests you may find you've gained some reputation and an option becomes available.

Again, this is the long game. If you think this one is long, wait until you have an alt join Bastion.

Review the comments and combinations you have seen posted here on Wowhead. Find the one you are most comfortable with. I referred to this guide you are reading now - Ember Court - Venthyr Covenant Game - How to Win and Unlock Rewards before each party. You will forget something, we all do when we get excited - even at real-life parties. Prepare before each party. Understand what possible uninvited guests, events, and objectives may happen based on your combination of choices.

Make sure you give yourself time. I tell my family not to bother me for 90 minutes. I put myself in /AFK and disconnect from my guild Discord server. You will have many things happening at once so you want to concentrate on what is happening.

Some must things to do:

If you are doing a party every week, check your guest list as part of your Tuesday reset ritual. This will let you know what you need throughout the week.

Before you even go upstairs and start the party, MAKE SURE your soulbind is set to Theotar. He is the worst soulbind for my character outside of the party so I have to remember to change him back and forth before every party. WeakAuras has the perfect help for this - more on that later. His being the Life of the Party is huge.

Talk to your personal dredger. Give him a new hat or costume. Anything for a change. But you also need to tell him what to do. Take the night off or make sure to clean everything. Whatever your party dictates based on the options provided in the dialog box.

Ambassador's Wine from Lady Ilinca This will give you some extra 60 seconds per bottle before and during the party. No sitting period is required. I'm still looking for exactly when it stops working but you can make the preparations last a little longer as well as the party. The party does move along without you though.

Another thing about Lady Ilinca, if you are having a messy party remember to tell her to take the night off.

Don't send away your extra crafting supplies to your alts. Put them in your bank. One stack of each should be enough. You want to make sure all of your stations/vendors stay Restocked. This is an option provided to you right after the party. You should make sure you have Infused Rubies available also. The restock fees are a combination of supplies and rubies.

When you finalize your guest list, go do the RSVP quests. I normally do my party on Monday night before resetting. I do my RSVPs all at once usually as I finish all of my starting reset quests on Tuesday. Others may decide to do them during the week with the zone's daily quests. Just get them done. You want those guests at your party. Try to make sure you have some combination of guests. You want your reputation to improve as quickly as possible and even a guest that stays middle of the road on happiness is better than nothing.

Be careful sending off your Infused Ruby quests on your mission table. If you get 100 Rubies days before the party, go buy wine, blank invitations, and mirror repair kits. You need to ensure you have the guests you want and the way to do that is to Revoke Invitations. You have to pay with a Blank invitation or pay with Infused Rubies to get the ones you want.

During the prep period, look around at all the required objectives. You can even do some items before the party starts. Light candles, and get all the lost instruments for the Chalice Band. Talk with generic NPC guests for buffs - remember your party type, and your choices with them add up based on your choice - This is the most tedious, be patient. If you chose the Lost Chalice Band you have to find their instruments. Returning their instruments give you fireworks that you get to set off for an exciting party. Everything counts.

When you see the countdown begins from the Preparation to Party time be at the station/area where you should be so you can immediately start. Example: Picking up instruments - be in the tent in the back where you get the guest list - the first instrument is sitting on the chair.

Get WeakAuras. Yes, Weak Auras can seem daunting but the ones for the Ember Court and Bastion are some of the simplest. They are plug-and-play and will allow you to go through the party quickly. You still have to do the tasks but WeakAuras allows you to respond quickly. The biggest one will simply remind you to set Theotar as your soulbind.

Go to YouTube and search on Ember Court Shadowlands. The mini objectives or games within the Party instance are not fully described. Go watch some videos so that you know how they work. You have to kick bad guests that you've captured with a bubble off the cliff side. The key is you don't have to run all the way to the very top of the cliff. Know how the mini-objectives work before you start.

Watch for announcements during the events and then look at your map. It will tell you where to go - but not always. (See above bullet point). If you've read all the details beforehand you will already have a good idea of what to do.

Try to atleast speak to each of your invited guests. It's better to do the required interaction but if something happens and you can't, you get some credit for talking with them.

Special note: If you have earned an RSVP and then decide to revoke that guest, the RSVP does not go away even if you have clicked on the envelope. I've had a standing RSVP with the Countess for three weeks. All I have to do is flip to her and she is ready. If you are bored and just want to work on reputations from all the zones, and with the knowledge you will need alot of blank invitations or infused rubies, flip to all the guests in certain zones and work on them. You can still flip to them at a future party. But you will atleast have the RSVPs waiting. This is great for when you have plans for holidays, work, or other things that restrict your game time. It really saves you time when you've been sick and have only a short period of time on the game before the weekly reset.

If you have finished one of the special features with any of the Shadowlands covenants - those awards listed under the achievement Shadowlands Dilettante chances are you will not be getting any new gifts/rewards with a different covenant because you have received them already. You will receive them but you can't do anything with them, with the exception of the pets. If you are working on just having alts go through all of the covenants, for the achievement, you already know this. Each of the reputation levels for those special covenant events does open some new mounts, pets, and cosmetics related to that covenant but don't expect anything new from the main list of rewards.

Remember you are in an "instance" when you do the Ember Court. Be mindful of what time it is and when possible server resets or updates of any kind by Blizzard may occur. Nightly there can be "small updates" from Blizzard. If you've ever been disconnected during this time, you will notice you have to do an update when you try to log back on. If you are in the Ember Court instance, it does not wait for you and just keeps counting - you don't get another chance that week. If a lot of people are complaining about something not working or something in the game is not responding as normal, the chances of an update coming are real. Save your Ember Court event time for another time. Read the Blue Posts.

Knowing and understanding the way Blizzard does resets and small updates, in general, will make more than just your Ember Court event easier, it will help ensure your game experience.

The Ember Court party can be alot of fun. But careful planning is required especially since you are only allowed to do it once a week, unlike the other three covenants. They have their own unique limitations.

Have a great party! You deserve it after all the pre-party preparations!

Maybe this helps someone who did the same as me. I've played hundrets of hours in Shadowlands but never cared about the Ember Court and never played it but upgraded it to lvl 5 and didnt had the 3rd and 4th slot. Now where you can do it daily, I was almost angry that I didn't have a 3rd or 4th slot, although I am already respectful with the ember court.

I've had Pagina della Lista degli Ospiti and Pagina della Lista degli Ospiti in my bank since Shadowlands which you get after lvl up the Ember Court. I just never thought about this.

Just a note for those trying to do this now to catch-up: I completed all of the achievements related to the Ember Court mini game with the actual building at level 4.

You don't need Level 5 for any of them, so you can save a significant amount of Anima!
