I love this so much, I'm so excited! I love doing the puzzles for pets, like B'aal and Uuna, and this little guy is so cute! I have the Crazy Cat Lady title and try to stay true to it by making it an active goal to try and collect every single one of the cat pets, lol. I can't wait to see what the rest of the puzzle is!

My ideas so far: The kibble represents constellations Cancer and Leo minor. However noticeably there are 4 foods which have names which start with the same letters for both words. So either drop the foods on the dots of kibble or only pick up said foods. Was also thinking the four actual star's names of these constellations might mean something but sadly couldn't see a link. Although the 2 are Cancer(crab) and Leo Minor(cat).

I followed the above steps into Karazan and started playing around with toys near Sebastian. Even though nothing worked (other than him turning and clapping), I did think that maybe playing the portable audiophone toy for someone would fulfill his "music truly is the key to happiness."

Music is the KEY to happiness. Maybe we need our portable music players with a certain piece of music somewhere.

Maybe the kibble patterns are FPs on the map or something.. like pet tamers?
I haven't been in the discord so not sure if this has been suggested, but, look at the kibble pattern on the right, flip it horizontal and rotate it 90 a couple times, and the kibble nearly aligns with 4 tamers

Are we still unsure of the purpose of the food? Maybe we take it to tamers?

Starting to worry this will never be solved. Baa'l was ridiculous and solved in less than 48 or so hrs if I Remember right?

I am wondering if the "Yipp-Saron" Perky Pug Costume will have something to do with finding this elusive "cat". I think I will go ahead and collect 150 Tricky Treats while I can, just in case. (It costs way more than the other Perky Pug costumes) And since dogs hate cats, and perhaps Mr. Perky Pug will end up being needed in his Yipp-Saron costume to track Jenafur.

In the achievement Crazy for cats there is exactly 20 cat you can collect that are non store bought, non trading card game and not a special promotion. Does anyone find that too much of a coincidence that there are exactly 20 foods?

Inside Catty Cathy's in Boralus there is a cat on a roll top desk to the right of the entrance,
this cat has the same model as Jenafur but is named "Meow Meow" - In Jenafur's
flavor text it states "This cat is known for her lies, ignore her sweet meows.".

There is also a cat walking the floor named "Kenshi" the same model as Jenafur
yet, unlike the other cats, Kenshi has a vendor icon when you scroll over him, however,
he does not yet open an inventory.Clicking him simply allows you to pet him.

I wonder if he is waiting for something in particular?

Note Taking foods from Kara to Cathy's doesn't seem to evoke any
kind of response..

Edit: As of September 13th The Jenafur puzzle has been solved! Unfortunately my thought of the 2 Npcs being related to puzzle was pure coincidence since they were added in the same patch and also cats

Just to throw in some weird numbers: The kibble that has been found as of now has a count of 10 (2, 4, 4 or 2, 8 if you add both heaps to one in Karazhan). There are 20 foods with a total of 79 found spawn locations. Probably one has not been found yet or hasn't been added due to a bug or is even part of the mystery because the food is not relevant just the spawn points are (have to try out connecting the 3 spawn points somehow, the others might just be red herrings). I'm guessing the kibble could be some kind of counter as well - even if it's a 2-potency counter (1, 2, 4, 8, 16 etc). So maybe the food is only step 4 and we're missing step 3.

Funny side facts with the numbers:

- Spells 2, 28, 244, 79 don't exist.
- Spell 10 is Blizzard - available in classic only.
- Spell 24 is some GM Test spell, so probably not a solid lead Major Heal Self (TEST).
- Spell 24479 is some old Druid Zul Gurub Set bonus, so again not a solid lead Fuoco Fatato Migliorato
- NPCs 2, 10, 24, 28 don't exist.
- NPC 79 does exist in Elwynn forest - but adding a low level rare to the mix would be just cruel: Narg il Coordinatore
- NPC 244 does exist in Elwynn forest - would prevent Horde from participating: Ma Pietradura
- NPC 879 swims off the coast in Northern Stranglethorn - everybody loves murlocs. I think "I am Murloc" (Tauren Chieftains song) was also somewhere in the WoW files back then: Cacciatore Scagliafine
- NPC 2879 is a Pet Trainer in Stormwind - so again nothing for the Horde Karrina Mekenda
- Items 2, 10, 28, 79, 244, 879 don't exist
- Item 24479 does exist - could even be part of the mystery somehow: Perla d'Ombra
- Item 4479 is some thundering charm and does exist in classic only.

This list is far from complete, but at least the murloc or the npcs in Elwynn might help on the search - if the numbers aren't just random misdirections planted by Blizzard. The numbers used in this random analysis are based on the 2,4,4 or 2,8 kibbles found right now and the 79 food spawns. If this was the beginning of an ISBN or UPC/EAN Code like the Riddlers Mind-Worm, then starting with a two would be considered as a private number for the EAN Code space. ISBNs usually start with 978 or 979 for "Bookland", so this won't be plausible unless the 79 is part of it again and we missed a kibble or the 8 kibbles and 79 spots of food make 978 in reverse order again...

While I'm talking about numbers, here's a weird thing on the "item" IDs themselves:
- Old Apple has an NPC ID of 118979 and was added in 8.0.1 instead of 8.2.5 (= way ahead of the secret), its corresponding Item ID is also the lowest all of the food.
- The other items are pretty much sequentially numbered even staying in their respective groups. Just one number is missing: 160375.
- The items themselves are not listed on wowhead yet - but they have an ID in-game. Also just one number is missing: 173772.

The Item IDs were taken from an addon i created for myself to post items with an enchantment applied to them. It basically just prints out the item link and some IDs in one function and applies numbers provided in another one. The first bit is the Item ID. It's a bit more complex now than on https://wow.gamepedia.com/ItemLink but it still follows some of its rules. For reference the itemLink for Meaty Morsel is \124cffffffff\124Hitem:173779:::::::::120:66::23::::\124h\124h\124r and the first number after the "item:" is the ID.

And another funny item for the list: Mantello del Gargoyle Pellepietrosa has the ID 13397, which is the result of subtracting the hole in the NPC ids from the hole in the Item IDs. The item linked is dropped in Stratholme (Side Entrance) by some rare Gargoyle. The Ottavino del Fuoco Focoso (13379 is an awfully close match to the number, also dropping in Stratholme (Main Entrance rare mob)) didn't move Sebastian though :(

Another theory: Perhaps some kinds of food should be laid out on a table in the stalls. This table is not ordinary. It is double. It consists of the right and left parts, among other things, there are empty dishes and cups on it, maybe food should be arranged in accordance with the right and left set There is a strange NPC dwarf named Babby Yikes, who, judging by Wowhead, doesn’t mean anything in WoW added in patch 7.1.0.22844 for Returning to Karazhan, is engaged in hunting for ghosts; other information is missing by the way with it her you can’t interact; it just costs to say nothing. Perhaps the food folded on the table correctly will allow it to interact with it for the next step in finding the Cat. NPC Babby Yikes is not in the raid of 70 lvl in Karazhan.

Okay so I have something I picked up on based on all the talk about Constellations and Stars etc.
Taking the Star part of this and linking it with Cats in game I actually thought of one very prominent and poignant NPC in particular.
Honestly I am astounded that NOBODY has put this connection together here.

Lady Chaton she is the 'Secret Cat Lady'. The key addition is her location in game as she resides in where else but the 'Court of Stars'
That most definitely cannot be a coincidence that this just happened to be part of the 'Hivemind' Secret chain as well which rewarded a flying Octopus Tentacled Mount and the Jenafur just happens to have Tentacle Slap...…

Now if you take her NPC number 132599 and then look at the last digits in the food from Karazhan...
Take all the Large, Meat, Adjective food for the first three digits and then the Old, Dirty, Stale ones for the last three digits you get the following:

1 Juicy Drumstick
3 Meaty Morsel
2 Slathered Rib
5 Stale Loaf
9 Dusty Bun
9 Old Apple

So what does the other food have in common and how to group them based on this information
Can we link them to an NPC or objects etc?
There is something in this....

There just happens to be five beverages and she has five cats if we use the same pat logic with the final number of the drinks we get:
67890 so this would be Fluffy 6 times, Shadow 7 times, Mew 8 times, Ash 9 times, and Bella 0 times.

If the Kibble in Karazhan was Braille script this would be NW (leading back northwest, which is where we came from). The W could also be an R if it is read upside down. If you number the dots on the Braille Alphabet letters with numbering the points left to right on each row, they are active on 1245 and 1345 for the W or 2346 for R. Since i haven't seen Braille script in the WoW riddles yet, this would be kind of new to it.

This idea is probably a bit out there, but i hope it might lead to something although this would be highly language specific again. If a compass is translated in other languages like french, where the directions N(orth) E(ast) S(outh) W(est) are N(ord) E(st) S(ud) O(uest) or german with N(orden) O(sten) S(üden) W(esten) it wouldn't fit any more.

Perhaps this table have a clue, one person can place one item on each table before they despawn so perhaps they require 5 people to place the right items. Could also be that the bread placed is a clue. Currently have no way to test though.

First I want to give my utmost appreciation to the people in the wow secret finding discord, they're work is amazing. I have "lurked" there but haven't figured how to post there yet. My boyfriend and I were discussing this and he gave me this: The earliest recorded use of combinatorial techniques comes from problem 79 of the Rhind papyrus, which dates to the 16th century BCE. The problem concerns a certain geometric series, and has similarities to Fibonacci's problem of counting the number of compositions of 1s and 2s that sum to a given total.

In Greece, Plutarch wrote that Xenocrates of Chalcedon (396–314 BC) discovered the number of different syllables possible in the Greek language. This would have been the first attempt on record to solve a difficult problem in permutations and combinations. The claim, however, is implausible: this is one of the few mentions of combinatorics in Greece, and the number they found, 1.002 × 10 12, seems too round to be more than a guess.

The Bhagavati Sutra had the first mention of a combinatorics problem; the problem asked how many possible combinations of tastes were possible from selecting tastes in ones, twos, threes, etc. from a selection of six different tastes (sweet, pungent, astringent, sour, salt, and bitter). So I looked into some of these carbinatorics ( number puzzles) concerning music and found that there is a way to convert the food to notes : Music theory and the number system | ArtistWorks . If we use Jezeera's hard work with npc numbers or item numbers, as an example we use the last number of hidden banana npc number it would be note 1 ( or item number would make it note 5). Also Sorge's music circle looks alot like the floor in that one room in kara ( the one where you can be small or big, someone had a great view of it from the top down in the discord). It also resembles a clock, where we could place the food according to kibble map, but musically? Numbers are universal I would think one is one in any language? Hoping this is useful, Good Luck!

Has anyone thought about Blackrock Caverns?
1. Backrock Cavern's 4 Bosses matches one of the 4 kibbles on the floor in Kara.
2.. The 4th boss (optional boss) has 4 pets.
3. The 4th Boss (Beauty) drops a ring called KIBBLE.
4. The ring has an EYE on the top of it.

I went in regular Blackrock Cavern on 3 different toons and killed all 4 bosses but the ring didn't drop and I couldn't find anything in the dungeon that would tell me it has anything to do with Jenafur.

Probably nothing but thought I would put it out here anyway.

If you go through the main doors of Karazhan (Burning Crusade 10-player raid) with a character that has NOT done the previous 2 steps, Sebastian says the original text. But, if you use a character that HAS done the previous 2 steps, the new text appears. But then if you beat the boss on the stage and go back to talk to Sebastian, the original text is back.

I am not sure why the old Kara has only one piece of information for the hunt for Jenafur.

Unless, the 2 Kara's are a clue. They are linked in TIME (Burning Crusade Raid & Return to Karazhan Dungeon).

If the text, "Music is the key to Happiness" is indeed a clue for Jenafur, then why would the developers modify the code for both Karazhan Raid and Return to Karazhan Dungeon?

Probably nothing, but there's 2 clues we've gotten since the last discovery.

1. "Jenafur has grown tentacles." - from Hotfix notes like a month ago.
2. "kibbles of 4, sets the time, of a 4/4 beat, and defines the lines" - Expanded on from their original clue to secret finders.

Two things come to mind: Tentacles could imply the next part is somewhere involving the void. My first thought with that is Mac'Aree? But the other clue implies music, and I don't recall anything musical there.

My second thought for that is what if the tentacle clue is to tell us the next part is in an area of the half-void/naga expansion - BFA.

What music is there in BFA? Waycrest Manor. We found there's secret organs that play music if you do specific things in there.

So what if the next part of the clue is tied to that secret in Waycrest Manor?

If music is the key, my guess has you unlock Nigel Rifthold (Lythgoe? :) ) and purchase Smoochums. Summon Smoochums inside Kara after interacting with the bowl in the CCL's house and see if she interacts somehow with the food. I'm currently farming coins to purchase Smoochums.

As the new music clue relates to a DRUM beat that is 4 beats in a straight line, maybe you have to pick up the Juicy DRUMSTICK in Karazhan banquet hall and either place it on the plates that are in a straight line on the table next to it, starting with the Wilderbrew Special or perhaps change it for the "HOPPY Mead" as the other clue was about Kibble "bouncing" in time...?

I have just re-read all comments as a refresher, and as a musician myself I can't help but be drawn to the "key" hint.

I'm reminded of a 1986 film, "Jumpin' Jack Flash", in which a certain scene involves a hint regarding the "Key" to proceed, referencing the musical key signature of the above-mentioned tune.

The predominant key signature of the Karazhan soundtrack seems to be D Minor. Perhaps there is some relevance to this per Sebastian's updated dialogue.

It is possible that food from Return to Karazhan has to be taken to Gamesman's Hall in old Karazhan and kibbles on the floor could possibly suggest how to place the food on the chess board. After finishing the chess event there are npcs standing outside and clapping like Sebastian after speaking to him, also the timer on food seems to be fit into how long it takes to get to the hall.

Did you ever hear the story of the harvest pennant in Diablo3? At patch day countless people searched for clues to find it and narrowed it down to one mob, a specific almost rare mob in act 2. After over a month without a single confirmed drop and one confirmed fake drop the official blizzard statement was "its in the game, working as intended". Soon after it turned out it wasnt in the game.
This puzzle feels like that.

Ok, I have been thinking about this for far too long,lol. I have lurked in the wow secret finding discord, but can't seem to be able to post there, so posting here. When I get frustrated I have a tendency to over think things alot, so I revert to what I call the K.I.S.S. system ( Keep it simple st----). We know that the kibble from the crazy cat lady's house directed us to Karazahn. The kibble there, should direct us to our next place right? Sebastions comment made us think about music, but I think it was just a hint or conformation that we finished that step? Now there is also 79 foods that we can interact with in karazahn, it has a duration of 5 minutes. So we are looking for somewhere we can go in that time frame. We were also given another hint of : 4 kibbles bounce in time, 4 kibbles count the time. Which is also very musical, but could be something as simple as taking a portal (or four flight points) 4 times to this next area to meet the time frame of placing a certain food or foods. The next hint was: Only one thing gets a kitty into the right mood, when you open up a can of just the right food. So in my mind all we need to do now is find some more kibble somewhere in azeroth and a can ( or bring something from karazahn) then if we have done it right we should hear a musical cue similar to Sebastions, from a different NPC? I have only the greatest admiration for the wonderful people in the secret finding discord. They are really working hard on this and I wish them all the best of luck. Speaking of music, there is also the organ in Waycrest Manor, a place full of dark spirits, as well as, in the upstairs above the Butcher boss, some Faceless maidens which are unique and kind of out of the way, i think there are four of them. Could Waycrest be part of the mystery?

Hey, I'm not sure if this is something but I managed to line up the kibble from Kara to the Blue Dots in Suramar. I ended up in front of the house with the Nightborne children walking in a circle singing. Sebastian mentioned Music was the Key to Happiness. And if you watch the children, they line up with the kibble pieces at different points. 4 kids, 4 kibble pieces. I still don't know what to do with the food. I might be off, but it seemed like something.
Update: You can place the food outside of Kara. I just tried in Suramar with the kids. I noticed the curious manasaber, and I wonder if you need to bring a certain type of food.

So we know it's 3 floors (actually 4).

We should look down.
My first idea; Still working it out, but sharing may help.

Four Kibbles bounce in time, Four Kibbles count the time

1) We are looking at an opera setting with an orchestra. The orchestra sits on the lowest floor, the basement I leave out for now.
2) The second ones are the guests + sebastian the organist
3) The third one is the balcony, also housing guests

In an orchestra, there is always someone keeping the time, which is the conductor, he "bounces" the time using his conductor's staff/stick or officially called a "baton". But there are no 4 of them. But what does also give a beat? drumsticks. So my theory here is that those 4 drumsticks need to be placed somewhere.

You could also say that the takers, the drummers, need a drumstick (or a drum stick). And in an orchestra they are placed in an arc, in the back. Find orchestra placements on google to visualise it.

You could say a baguette can work as a baton and one needs to be placed at the place of the conductor.

Another theory would be:

Only one thing gets a kitty into the right mood, when you open up a can of just the right food

The other part is where the bosses are. The players are in the back, and some talk about an apple. Perhaps we need to place some food close to them or on the stage. And they may set the right mood (romeo and juliet). The kitty can also be referred as the wolf. Riding hood also had some food in her basket. maybe another clue.

...But hen again, it wouldn't work well with this hint:

I find it interesting how the clue is written with eight lines matching the “eight morsels” and eight kibble. I also notice that it could be seens as a rhyme pattern in poetry where every letter starting with A matches with a rhyme. This one would be AABACDED. This could show what morsels need to be the same/different.

Just ran some tests. My main who was on the current secret, I did complete the food placement. Jenafur spawned as expected. I then opened group up for others. Players on the correct step could join my instance and pet Jenafur for her, as long as they weren't locked obviously. Tested a char without any progress and they could not pet Jenafur. Meaning you can share your lockout with others at the correct step. Jenafur did not despawn for me yet, been about 30 minutes.

With the solution finally out for this I started the chain to get it. I went to Ashenvale and there was no dialogue but I figured I had done it at some point already. I went to the CCL and the dish and the kibble weren't there. Again I thought I had maybe done it before but there was no kibble there. Finally, I went into Kara and did the Opera event and went to grab the food and it wasn't there. Is there a way to check and see what I have or haven't done? I'm kind of confused right now.

The whole group needs to do the prelimary steps to actually interact & receive Jenafur. Only one person in the group needs to lay out the food in Karazhan.

My party lead had completed the first steps and placed out all the food while i was in the dungeon. I could see Jenafur but couldn't interact to receive her as a pet. I had to go to the beginning to be at the same point. Jenafur was still spawned whilst the party lead stayed in the dungeon and we caught up.

Some interesting things happen with this pet
Jenafur will sit on your lap when you type /sit
After 15 minutes she will turn into her void form
Randomly she will meow and sometimes whisper to you things like “feed me souls”
There is a chance when she is summoned to play the Amara’s Wish music

In addition to the wonderful guide posted by Xisthena, here are some helpful notes.

- The food will remain in your bag for 5 minutes upon pick-up.
- All the food will respawn after about 5 minutes, so if you lose one in your bags, you can go back and pick it up.
- It doesn’t matter what order you set the food down. It does matter where you place the food.
- If you accidentally place the wrong food down, you can go back to get the food and place it down in the correct spot.
- Food on the floor will despawn after some time. It’s okay. Once you place a food down in the correct spot, you get credit for it.
- Once you have placed all the food in their correct spots, Jenafur will spawn.
- Turn your music volume up while you’re doing this puzzle. Once you hear the music change, you know that she has spawned.

For the final solution on where to get the food, note that the map is WRONG. There is no marbled steak in the middle of the map as indicated. I don't know where you're supposed to get it, but I just got a 2nd one from the top right spawn location. If you click on it again before it despawns you get 2 of them. That also works for all the food, so it can be faster than you would otherwise think.

Just to mention - when you put down the food, it's not always at the guides locations and it can time out. Both in your bags and on the floor. Even if it disappears from the floor placing any timed out food in the right location makes the sounds play and Jenafur appears. I was only able to find the steak in the hay outside the huntmans room on my instance. Luckily, I was able to get two items from each location and finish the puzzle. I had placed all the items I still had in the hopes that I could come back with new steaks. When I returned the floor was bare of all placed items. I'd thought that might happen and had gotten most of the rest of it again on the way back up. I placed the two steaks first (they were far away so about to time out) and Jenafur appeared w/o having to place any new items.

The better order to pick up the meat is to start in the guest chamber nearest Maiden, and end in Moroes' room. This lets you pick up the meat in the exact order you'll end up placing them down, giving you the most time to get the job done.

If any of the food expires in your bag when collecting and placing the food in Kara, do not despair. You can place other food in their correct tiles, and return to the same spawn points, and re collect the foods you may have lost.
I lost a Fishy Bits on my run, and was able to go back to the Banquet hall, grab the missing food again, and finish the puzzle.

I can't find the 'Marbled Steak' item anywhere. It doesn't appear in any of the three spots listed in the guide. All of the other foods are there. I did run Karazhan on Mythic earlier this week for the mount, but the other foods still spawned. I went outside, reset instances, still no luck. I tried reclearing on Heroic, all of the other foods spawned, but there was no trace of any Marbled Steak anywhere. Is anyone else encountering this?

FYI I just did this and even though I was slow enough that the foods I'd been placing were already despawning, Jenafur still spawned after I'd placed the final food correctly. So, you are under no pressure to gather every single food in 5 minutes and bring them back to the Opera Hall in one trip. The foods once placed seem to last an additional 5 minutes on the ground but their despawning seems to have no bearing on final completion; simply having placed them correctly is enough.

Worth noting that the top down view of the floor in the last step is oriented as if you are standing nearest the stage, looking into the audience NOT taken from the back of the audience area where you enter coming from Maiden/Moroes.

So I did this on my Horde character, completely skip the Crazy Cat Lady & Empty Dish step, did the rest as it was shown in the guide and I got my pet like everybody else, I can confirm that you can skip that part of the guide.

GREAT guide -- respect and kudos to the Secret Finders for sussing this out! It took me a few times to get it right (finding that meaty morsel behind the chair threw me off the first time) but I'm relieved to say that if you don't get the order right, or the items time out, just wait a minute, go back to Morose's room, and all the food items WILL reset. I just got her. What a fun quest!

EDIT: Can't say I wasn't a little startled when she spontaneously went into shadow form and said, "Feed me souls". :D

Not all the food are where the map shows them, but you don't have to put them down at the same time. I could only find 1 marbled steak, i put it down, then went back to the same location and picked it up again, as they respawn. I had to do a bit of running around, but the food you put down stays there for some time, so it's absolutely doable.

You can still get this done when the foods start to despawn (about 2-3 mins after placing them). I realized I was missing a fish and drumstick and when I came back half the things were gone, placed the rest where they were supposed to be and she popped up anyway. So don't stress about speed!

(Also, if you keep clicking on her she stops meowing and makes creepy old god sounds)

Just wanted to add that you can make a group and invite people to get themselves a chonky cat after you've already spawned her. I had a large number of people get their cat and many only did the first step so it seems that you need only talk to Amara in order to click on a summoned Jenafur. Also, tested it out for science, if you exit the instance (not reset) and go back in she doesn't seem to despawn either however, if you reset the instance all food disappears and you can't resummon Jenafur.

You can summon and pet her on a second character, but you can only collect her one time. Also some of the wording confused me in the directions. The kinds of food has to go in the correct place. It just doesnt matter where you start placing it. follow the picture that you can see the food in.

After interacting with Amara and the dish @ Crazy cat lady, I killed Moroes and cleared Opera event but absolutely none of the food items
were there. Went back to the 2 previous areas and re-clicked on them, but still nothing in Kara. Anyone have any ideas?

Don't try to get it on a party group. Is not working.
You'll see the food and can interact with it but the cat is not showing up.
We had to split and solo worked like a charm.

I tried following this guide to a T, multiple times, and different characters. I speak with Amara and click the dialog. I visit the cat lady and click the bowl. I can see the kibble on the floor. I got to Karazhan, kill Moroes, complete the opera event, but I don't see any kibble nor any food in the locations specified. I tried logging out and in again. I tried leaving and re-entering the dungeon. What am I missing?

** Important Tips **

First-- this is in the Legion version of Karazhan accessed from the Side Entrance on the bridge. If you aren't fighting 110+'s, you are in the wrong instance.

Also-- Be sure to do the Opera event.

Next-- After you obtain the items, orient yourself on the grid of tiles in the Opera audience compared to the screen shot above-- the screenshot shows the stage at the bottom, but it is to the west on the map in the instance.

You can drop the items anywhere on the appropriate tile. Note that there are 8 spots that must be filled by items. Good luck!

You can SKIP the Crazy Cat Lady & Empty Dish, I just did it without this step and I even did it on MYTHIC difficulty.
In summary Grab the Dialog from Lunastar in Ashenvale and then you can go directy to the SIDE entrance of Kara

JUST FYI
There is an excellent Video on utube by Kelani which will make the layout perfectly straightforward.
If you follow his path the 5 minute duration is no big deal at all. I had 2 1/2 minutes to spare on the food duration.

So after a year and change of epic theorycrafting and hunting for leads and painstakingly combing Kara weekly...the solution was kinda...meh? Like the secret was too random and a lot of it didn't make sense. It doesn't make sense that you can skip a step (going right from Amara NPC to Kara), there's nothing pointing you to the direction of specific foods, and the solution being tied to a piece of music most people wouldn't be able to see (hell, we were told to not go searching outside of game >.>) leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

It also feels like the secret ended too abruptly. Given the quote of the cat + the void abilities, I was expecting some kind of step after the food with void creatures kidnapping the cat and you had to go rescue her...but nothing. It just seems like an unfulfilling ending to a long journey. And this is a combination of faults because while the fan expectation was raised through over a year of figuring it out, maybe if the solution wasn't so obscure then expectations could have been managed. Idk.

That being said, all of those things don't take away from the main point: the pet is cute, the story behind the secret is very beautiful and I'm glad they honored a fan by putting her pet (and her?) into the game.I'm so happy that she and her beloved cat are immortalized in WoW and Jenafur is going to make an excellent addition to my legion of cats.

Amara and Jenafur - you both are going to have long and happy lives. I demand it, therefore it shall happen. <3

I just completed this. I had to make multiple trips around to re-get items. They either disappeared out of my bags or off the floor. Fat Ass Jenafur will eat the items you place without allowing you to see her. Just place all the items. When music plays /tar Jen and she will show up.

I found the 2020 guides to be out of date. There is a slightly different floor layout and I did find a video that worked, with a different placement of food, but it was in German, so following it was difficult. I still haven't gotten the Jenafu using these guides.
Does anyone have the updated floor layout and where the food goes?

Thank you so much for this guide! I was able to complete this Secret start to finish with absolutely no trouble at all.

Since there are comments mentioning this, I'll give some advice on what I did, in case it helps anyone (but I imagine most people will just figure out their own best practice for this anyway).

1-Shotting Issues:

First of all: I'm completing this during the Midnight Pre-Patch event, so everything here dies very easily: trash is 1-shot, and bosses are either 1- or 2-shot. According to the guide and many comments, this dungeon had some serious bugs when 1-shotting bosses. I had no problems at all with this.

The bosses that I killed were:
- Opera Hall - Wikket
- Moroes et al
- Maiden
- ...and all the trash in between them
None of these mobs produced any problems when I killed them instantly or near-instantly. Perhaps there are issues with 1-shotting specific Opera Hall bosses, but if so, then that's got some RNG involved there -- which also means that, if you do "roll" a dungeon with a bugged Opera boss, you can just reset the dungeon. That's a pain, but at least you'll know before you even start the Jennifusa stuff, so it's not a huge waste of time.

Food Timer:

The food has a 5-minute timer on it from the time you pick it up, so the food you pick up first will be the food that disappears first. This suggests that you need to be prepared! Because of all my preparations, I finished placing all the foods and spawned Jennifusa with at least 3 minutes to spare on the first food piece I picked up -- that is, I breezed through the whole thing quickly and efficiently.

These preparations included:
- killing all mobs / bosses on the path (as the guide suggests)
- locating each required item of food first, without touching it
- making notes in my phone detailing exactly where each food piece is (e.g.: "Moroes' Banquet Hall: Fish Bits - floor, right of staircase to Moroes)
- practicing running through the whole thing, i.e. from the first food pickup to the last (because this dungeon confuses me and I didn't feel comfortable with the potential of getting lost)
- learning and "practicing" proper food placement based on the map shown in the guide

I did all of this before ever picking up a single piece of food.
And that's how I was able to breeze through it! Preparation is key. It's generally when you rush and have misplaced confidence that you make mistakes. :)

(P.S.: I absolutely adored the little music at the end, after completing the placement of the food pieces, when Jennifusa spawns -- it was so unique and cute! I wasn't expecting that, and it just made the whole experience even more rewarding! <3)

Note: I placed part of the food, realized I didn't have enough to finish, ran around to find more, came back, and all the stuff I had placed earlier was no longer visible.
HOWEVER, I placed the final pieces that I had to go back to retrieve, and the cat spawned anyways and I was able to get it. So it appears as long as you place them right, you don't have to do it all in one shot.
