Don't overcap your Soul Shards - Soul Shards are your resource and are limited to a max of 5. Overcapping on them is a DPS loss, and they should not be pooled unless heading into a damage window.

React to procs- Both Frammento dell'Instabilità and Notte Fonda will proc often, which players need to be aware of to maximize damage and not overcap on the effects..

Hi There,

love these guides! I have a question on the following:

Affliction Warlock Multi-target Target Priority

If Vile Teint specced. then i wont be able to cast PS at step 5. Soul Rot is also not talented in the M+ Nightfae multitarget build. Shoud these be skipped then?

Cast Vile Taint to apply Agony.
Cast Seed of Corruption to apply Corruption.
Apply Agony to all available targets and maintain at least 5 of them for shard generation. There's a hard cap on how many targets it benefits a warlock to maintain agonies on, and that happens at around 8 targets.
Apply Unstable Affliction to the priority target.
Cast Phantom Singularity.
Cast Soul Rot.
Cast Summon Darkglare.
Cast Seed of Corruption as much as you can.
Cast Decimating Bolt if you are Necrolord.

I have a question: what about the Haunt? I don't see it mentioned in the rotation and it's a very important part of the affli spec. Question is do you go UA/Haunt/Agony/Corruption for opening and then keep those up all the time or is there another order?

There's a lot of great information in this post, and I really like how you explain why certain talents are taken and how to properly use them. I've been playing affliction warlock off and on for a long time, and guides like this really help to see how they play from a different perspective.

It looks like there's a typo in the "Understanding the Gameplay" section under "Best Affliction Warlock Single Target Rotation and Priority". At the end of the 2nd paragraph it says "you will not receive and Tormented Crescendo procs", is that suppose to be "any" instead of "and"?

Hey, good guide overall, the actual information seems to be correct, but there are some errors in terms of writing/formatting.

You're linking the Legion version of Afflizione Instabile (ID 30108), when it was still a shard spender and stackable. In order to avoid confusion, you should use (ID 316099).
You're also linking the Shadowlands covenant ability version of Putrefazione d'Anima (ID 325640). While it does the same thing, it has a different icon, which will be confusing for many readers. The current version is Putrefazione d'Anima (ID 386997). This is even more important than the previous point because most players form an association between a spell and its icon. It's a visual aid that helps people retain the information and apply it to their gameplay, so using the correct icon is essential.
There is no Soul Harvester variant of the Opener section. Granted, the gameplay principles behind the opener are the same for SH, but the abilities you use are different. Corruzione instead of Avvizzimento, Risucchio d'Anima instead of Dardo d'Ombra, and you don't have access to Malevolenza. In my opinion it's also worth mentioning that Abbraccio dell'Ombra stacks up to 4 rather than 2, but Tormento gives you a stack thanks to Tormento Migliorato (meaning you need 3 ticks of Drain Soul to fully stack it). Since Soul Harvester is very viable right now and even does better dps than Hellcaller—with the caveat of worse mobility—it definitely deserves inclusion.
Above the Opener section you tell the reader to select Singolarità Fantasma or Contaminazione Vile, but there are no selector buttons for that.
The buttons in the AoE section are broken. While Hellcaller is selected, you can toggle both Phantom Singularity and Vile Taint simultaneously; this should be an exclusive toggle. Further, when Soul Harvester is selected, the PS/VT buttons don't do anything at all, and neither ability is mentioned in the text.

Doubt this gets a response, but this guide has been lacking information on exactly how to maintain dots for years now. As an experienced player, I know how to maintain them with Pandemic, but an explanation of what that is and the finer points would be useful.

This is even more needed now that the rotation assist/one button rotation section exists and specifically mentions Pandemic without ever defining it.

How come the AOE rotation has Malefic Grasp when you don't pick the talent for it, do you just use drain soul instead?
