Vilscarica - An interruptable cast that deals a heavy fel damage on completion. He casts this every ~20-25 seconds, and you will need to use Urlo Psichico to stop the cast or damage reduction to survive it.

Totem della Vilscarica - A totem placed by Tugar that will nuke you and likely end the encounter if the cast completes, cast any damage spell into it to instantly kill it off when it spawns.

Terremoto - Drops rocks in three spots around the area. Jormog il Behemoth will tunnel under the ground and do laps around the room, occasionally surfacing. When he surfaces, he will then charge at you. You want Jormog il Behemoth to charge into as many of the rocks that fell during Terremoto as you can. Hitting a rock will remove a stack of Vilscaglie Indurite. If you are hit by Jormog il Behemoth during his charge, you will be stunned and may die.

Uovo di Sputabile - An add that will spawn following Terremoto. If Uovo di Sputabile is not killed before it's cast finishes, it will spawn a Sputabile but that add will spawn with identical HP to the egg so DPSing the egg before it hatches is still very good.

Sputabile - A stationary add that will spawn swirlies under the player which will do minor damage.

Vilfolgore - An unavoidable DoT that deals a small amount of damage.

Jormog il Behemoth

Vilscaglie Indurite - A damage reduction buff, that starts with 9 stacks. A stack is removed when Jormog collides with a rock from Terremoto.

Urlo Sonico - Periodic cast which deals moderate sonic damage and interrupts the player. This can be stopped with crowd control but generally you just want to stop casting during this so you are not spell locked.

Saliva Vilinfusa - Instant attack which deals minor fire damage.

I can get through the first phase now but I get one shotted in the enrage phase in 2. I fear one of the sonic screams . Then I CD the next cast. Then fear one more time. After that i Have nothing left and get hit for 12k. Am I doing something wrong ?

If you're still struggling or getting one shot, here's a few tips:

1- If you fear Tugar's first Fel Burst, he wont cast it again until after he casts Earthquake. to prevent the second cast from hitting you, use Mindbender + Fade during his Earthquake cast and he'll cast the Fel Burst on your Mindbender. by the time he casts it again your fear will be back up. I beat this without using any major cooldowns with this strategy.

2- There's a trinket you can get from the first boss of The Emerald Nightmare called "Ravaged Seed Pod" where if you use it on the eggs, all of them will die without you ever paying attention to them, and the cooldown aligns perfectly with their spawn.

3- Always make sure to kill the worm first, Tugar second if you dont kill them at the same time. you can prevent Tugar's cast from hitting you with the advice from tip number one, but the worms cast will hit you no matter what, and it one shots when Tugar is dead.

4- The damage you take is very small outside of the two big casts they do, try to heal with atonement instead of shadow mend if they arent about to cast to save mana.

Finally killed the boss, the encounter took 15 Minutes!
Arcane Mage kill took 3 minutes! O.O

you won't have mana issues as well as you have access to another defensive cooldown to add to your rotation on a 1 min CD as well.

What kind of HP are people going into this fight with? I'm getting one shot by Fel Burst through Masochism + Mind Blast + 2 stacks of Focused Will, and Tugar isn't even below 40% yet. My HP is 7.1k - am I missing something?

Do yourself a favor.

Learn the Fel Burst timings, and play the Mindbender+Fade strat.
It's just so much easier than trying to survive the hits with CD rotation and shizzle.

All the respect to Jak, but he got lucky surviving in this video.

By the way, does anyone seem to know why does the Fel Burst damage vary so much? I had it soaked for 4k, 6k, 7k and 9k. Does it scale with missing health?

Ok, I finally found a rythm to have his second Vilscarica cast to be on an interval of 60 seconds. That way you didnt even need defensive cool downs at all. I just used them as oh sh*t buttons and on my kill try for the last %... More to that later. My tactic was this:

- build 3 2 2 1 1 1 1: If you dont want to play with the popular Nythendra trinket, go with Halo, but imo its damage waste. The earthquake phase is never a problem for disc priest compared to other classes. Most of the time I was just standing and shielding there and waiting for the phase to finally end. You have to have as much burst damage as possible for the big worm phases, so maximize this.

- Stop damage on Tugar when he is about 50%. He will get cleave damage during the Egg phases and naturally will go down more and more. If not, because you have a single target focused build, you always can focus him during the worm phase to catch up later on. You dont want him to die when the worm is at 10-100%. Even 10% may be a wipe.

- If the worm is at 3 to 4 def stacks, start doing damage. Dont even bother to dot Tugar in this phase. Its a wasted CD. The main goal is to nuke the worm as much as possible, because he isnt always attackable like Tugar. You have enough time to apply damage on Tugar during the egg phase anyways.

- bring both of them down close to 5% each before finishing one off. I had at least 3 trys where the worm had more than 20%. Not doable. The cast hits for something like 15k or more when enraged. Maybe you can survive one with all CDs up, but thats it. But never tried. ^^

- never leave the worm phase with less than 100% and always shield yourself beforehand. When the worm respawns, apply mind blast, then shadow mend. Shield again and start your damage rotation. Fear Vilscarica before Tugar's cast gets through. And this timed fear cast is the main trick!

You have to get the encounter to this kind of interval. This way he wont cast it again before the earthquake phase and you can pop up your mind bender / fade macro just before he finishes casting it. The pet will be up for that time and catch the fel burst. He wont cast it again in this phase and will cast it some seconds after the big worm appeared again. You always will have fear ready at this point. The problem is to get to this rythm. For whatever reason it wont work at the beginning, so you have to counter it with mind blast on Tugar + shield and eventually a minor CD like Estasi . His damage doesnt one shot you in the early stages. After 2 or 3 rounds, you will get Tugar to that point, that he will cast his Fel Burst after the worm appeared again. THIS is what you aim for. Then in the earth quake phase you always can summon your mind bender. I had dozens of trys, where this didnt work and I also had trys where I was in that worm appears / earth quake rythm, but Tugar still moved out of this pattern and it was a wipe.

I really prefered hunter here. At least you could react to his fel burst, but with disc priest you dont have that option, when fear is on cool down. Mind Bender fade wont work after he started casting. and maybe you can get through a mind blast and a CD, but you wont get the full programm, especially when the worm casts his silence spell at the same time.

At an earlier try Tugar moved out of this interval I used, but at this point I also had lower DPS, because I dont play disc at all and dont really now how to play this class. During my trys my DPS got way better and at my kill try I had 373. So maybe after some time youll move out of this rythm.

GL. Imo its badly designed for disc, because you have to anticipate his cast, but cant really react to this. Neither mindbender fade works if he already started casting, nor can you really apply your mind blast shield rotation and have to use a big cd to survive. But maybe Im just too bad. :)

Other grenades or bombs also work if you are not an engineer but they might use a longer cooldown.

I can clearly say the fight became extremely easy with:

Also with the usage of the Mindbender + Fade macro. Never had mana issues and I never had to focus on the eggs. Just use the pod every time they spawned.

Basically everytime the Worm pops back up you can use the mindbender + fade and it should work 99% of the times. (fear first cast when its almost done and mindbender + fade the other and keep repeating it.)
Just make sure you actually take them both down almost at the same time. Since it just keeps repeating over and over it shouldnt be an issue, I just had to stop dealing dmg to Tugar after he reached roughly 20% until worm is around the same. Just focus on worm mostly.

I came into this challenge with full haste gems/enchants. Struggled a lot. Once I switched to versatility instead, I actually got it on next try. Made a very big difference in survivability, instead of dieing with small overkill I'd live and have time to heal up. Also helped with mana, because Fel Shock passive damage intake is very high.

No doubt I could have done it with haste focused gear, but requires much higher precision. For an easier time just switch your gems/enchants.

Ok my observation

I sufferer a lot and especially on worm enrage phase. I was able to take down the Tuger after few tries. But worm killed me like 10th times.

My Tips:
I had with Dragon soul socket gears with +4 intel (if you got money you can do even +6) arround 670 Itel. Macro to kill totem recom. Do not use this death word. It is better to cast on worm. via this macro

stack worm and Tugar together and use Fear. You will fear both of them as first CC rotation
once Egg phase comes. Use shield yourself to get movement speed buff from talents. Do not go in the middle of the eggs, but look on boulder where it ends up and stand up between it and direct line where you got two rocks . You can step on rock, but not on the cross with rocky spikes
use Contenitore di Semi Devastato and AOE them with Esplosione Sacra . Really easy. I was having easy time like monk spin on this phase. You can even do 5 eggs easily with this. Now remember when boulder is fired use macro so bait interrupt into Mindbender via this Macro

This is like super easy how to CC second cast. but you have to remembered it to press it. Sometime when Addon announce "CC" and he is casting on you. It is too late to summon Mindbeder and fade. so do it once the rock is rolling (you have to memorized this)
Once the rock rolling is done. Move toward worm so you can fear them again
Do as much dmg as possible to worm. Try to aim below <50% of worm health before you kill Tugar. I was not able to to survive it. But with this above is really easy even do 3-4 eggs.
Recommend to kill Tugar while worm is rolling so you got time to regen skill and heal to full.

Now to survive worm enrage:
Swap those two:

Now if you do not survive or rotate I do not know how to else to do it. In my kill worm was 38% used BL +pot everything. I killed it. But I do not know how to survive next cast.
Summary: Def. harder like Monk and Lock (except AOE egg phase). If you messed up CC do not worry shield and heal your self. It is not GG unless you got like 5 or more Eggs.

Disregard everything in this except the actual mechanics description. These are astoundingly less challenging right now during the Midnight Pre-patch. You are still reduced to 120 ilev, but because of the stat squish, you can do these easily enough wearing any current champion+ tier. Do NOT try these with any special Mage Tower custom sets with 30 sockets from old expansions as recommended above - you will be grossly undergeared.

Feltotem is only difficult if you kill Tugar so fast the worm doesn't lose any stacks of plating. Disc priest was a little more of a challenge, but if you talent Psychic scream reduction and remove some of the worm's DT reduction, it's totally doable.
