Alright so I'm planning on making a priest using the heirloom equipment: Tattered dreadmist mantle, and tattered dreadmist robe but I wanted to get a multiclass weapon so im debating whether going with the devout aurastone hammer so i can use it on a pally or sumthing in the future or getting the dignafied headmasters charge for another caster later on. any thoughts?
You'll eventually get both because badges are a dime a dozen nowadays. For a priest leveling, I prefer the staff because it's hard to keep a good upgraded off-hand to keep up with the value of the staff.
The staff can go to any caster that you decide to make. If you want to use the mace, it'll be limited to functional use on healing classes primarily, which are a pain to level anyhow (outside of LFG). Paladin leveling, I would recommend going Ret or Prot anyway.

To be sincere? Don't go for the weapon, go for Discerning Eye of the Beast. Classes that use mana will love it. The true point is - the staff/weapon is going to be a stat stick for most of your levelling, but DEotB is a serious increase in efficiency - especially with AoE. Classes that rely on the weapon to level would probably have more "specificness", and buying a good one won't assure multi-class. But DEotB ensures any mana using class falls in love with it.

That would be a great option so then should I get an heirloom weapon from the stone keepers shard vendor just incase?
That's also a fine choice, but remember that you're sacrificing Crit for Hit. There's also no intellect, which is your longevity

For casters, I really do think that the equipment you get from emblems is superior to the equipment you get from SKS's.
For MELEE classes, however, you may find that mixing and matching is best. In case you ever decide to go that route. ;-)
grats on all your gear!

Get the chest, shoulders, staff, and 2 sp trinkets; you'll be good to go. Or at least won't level up anyone without all 5 heirloom pieces (6 if the cast requires dual weapons).

get it all. Put the 30+ Intellect Enchant on the staff as it increases gains for the two trinkets you will have (and love).

I'm pretty sure you'll like +29SP more TBH

Karl: I had the 30 intellect means that you go for longer but then, if you need to drink, you'll be drinking for long periods of time too. For that reason, I do prefer 30 SP. 30 Intellect only delays the inevitable!

You can use that staff to level the following:
Priest
Mage
Warlock
Druid (Mine started as feral dps, but I took a resto dual spec at 40. I respecced out of feral dps and went balance to aoe grind/quest from 50-80.)
Shaman (I leveled elemental all the way, taking a resto dual at 40.)
That staff gives you many options.

Why would you want
+29 sp
when you can get
+30 sp
? I guess +29 sp appears to be quite a bit cheaper.

remember at lower levels you have increased regeneration. you won't be OOM much at all with the trinkets at those levels.
The scaling on the lower levels of spells is rubbish. 30 sp will increase the damage by about 2 or 3. just not worth it.
The only time you will be OOM is when you pull too much and have to use everything you have. Use the INT enchant. the two trinkets give your more bang for your buck when equipped.
It works well with Spirit tap, try it, i think you will find you will like it

Well, I'm speaking from the experience of leveling several toons. I found that I DIDN'T OOM as much, but when I DID, I spent a ton of time drinking to regenerate all that lost mana. Max level drinks (relative of course) were never enough to speedily get me back to burning/smiting/face-melting. I found that I spent just about as much time drinking as I did without the enchant, so I switched it to 30 SP and found myself much happier overall. Just my experience. Maybe others can say differently.
