Character Planner FAQ
Getting Started
The planner can be accessed two ways:
Go to Tools menu on the top navigation bar on any page, and then Character Planner from the dropdown menu.
Lookup a Battle.net Profile on
http://www.wowhead.com/list
and click on the "Planner" option on the header when your character loads.
Once you're on the Planner page, just enter in your realm and character. If you have a character in the Profiler, just click on the "Character Planner" option in the header and it will automatically load the planner for that character!
Guide Recommendations
The Character Planner recommends guides and content we think you'd be interested in doing:
Guides for Recent Activity
Guides for Your Class
Professions
There are handy links under the recommendation section to browse Wowhead's
robust selection of guides
.
Achievements
The Achievements section recommends achievements you are very close to completing, organizing them by percentage.
Mouseover the name of an achievement to see what criteria you've already completed--it will be highlighted in green.
Tracking what achievements you've completed across Wowhead is just a click away via the Planner--click the pin next to "Achievements Almost Complete" to see what achievements you've completed in search results, quick facts, and tooltips!
Pathfinder
The character planner now helps you see which parts you need to complete in order to unlock Flying in each relevant expansion (newest to oldest).
Gear Recommendations
The Gear Upgrades section lists gear upgrades in a 20 ilvl range. It organizes gear upgrades two ways--upgrades by source, and upgrades by slot. It will also notify you if you are missing gems or enchants on your gear.
Upgrades by source shows you which dungeons, raids, and bosses have the most upgrades for you so you can determine what to run if you're short on time.
Upgrades by slot shows everything in a relevant ilvl range so you can compare all of the options and sources.
The tool automatically detects if you're interested in PvP and recommends PvP gear accordingly.
If you are missing gems, enchants, or glyphs, the tool will alert you to your missing items.
This tool works very closely with the Profiler and you can swap over to viewing your character in the Profiler to see a stat breakdown of your current gear as well as 3D models.
