On Mythic difficulty, the Vigilant Guardian will be present from the start of the encounter.

Refracted Blast will spawn Spike of Creation, a trap on the ground that will detonate if players enter its radius or if certain boss abilities strike it.

When the boss casts Exposed Core it will gain a stack of Overclock, increasing its damage output by 10%.

Vigilant Guardian Mythic Strategy

The boss will only cast Split Resolution out of its other Phase Two abilities.

This change makes it so you have a permanent target to attack even when there are no adds alive, and adds one extra avoidable ability to the encounter during Phase One.

Spike of Creation can be detonated by walking into it, Deresolution, or Split Resolution.

Because you can’t control where Split Resolution is aimed, we recommend trying to clear as many Spike of Creation as possible.

Keep in mind the 6 second debuff from Spike of Creation does stack, which will require your raid to pop 2-3 spikes in groups with healing cooldowns or stagger them one by one.

General raid movement throughout Phase One. The number next to the adds indicates the order of safe zones during Exposed Core.

Phase One

This phase is shortened on Mythic due to the boss being attackable from the beginning.

Unlike Heroic, there will be only three Automated Defense Matrix adds on Mythic difficulty.

Only having access to three Unstable Cores means the raid will have to do at least 20% of the boss’s health before it casts its third Exposed Core.

The overall raid movement should be as follows:
Start the encounter near the left side of the area (when facing the boss) until the first Automated Defense Matrix is powered up.

During the first Exposed Core, stand in the Force Field for the damage reduction.

Once Exposed Core is over the Automated Defense Matrix add should be killed and the Unstable Core detonated on the boss.

Repeat this process with the Automated Defense Matrix in the middle and right side of the area. Ideally both Automated Defense Matrix adds will become Powered Up prior to the second cast of Exposed Core, which will allow the raid to deal 40% more damage to the boss with Detonate.

Phase Two

Phase Two works exactly the same way as Heroic.

Depending on how much damage the boss took during Phase One, you may or may not have time to get a set of offensive cooldowns in before Phase Three.

The biggest threat during this phase is Matter Dissolution, which will spawn Anti-Matter orbs.

Phase Three

Phase Three becomes a simple race against the clock.

Ideally, you will have offensive cooldowns, Time Warp, and healing cooldowns to make this part of the encounter as painless as possible.

Depending on how much damage your raid does, Time Warp can be moved to other parts of the encounter that are proving to be particularly difficult.

Tips and Tricks

Utilize Ring of Peace to keep small adds out of the Force Field buff.

Aim Deresolution away from Spike of Creation to avoid triggering them.

DPS

Only attack the boss as your primary target if there are no other adds alive.

Killing the adds quickly will make the encounter much more painless -- more so than dealing a lot of damage to the boss and potentially falling behind on powering up new adds.

Automated Defense Matrix becomes the highest priority target once Exposed Core is finished. This is because they apply a damage reduction to all other adds within their Force Field.

If possible, save cooldowns for the last 15% of the encounter to defeat the boss before the raid is overwhelmed.

Healer

While there are several sources of damage on this encounter, there are a few that contribute most to the overall healing requirement.

Detonating Spike of Creation will be the biggest source of raidwide damage you will have to deal with through the first two phases.

The boss being active from the beginning will add a pretty significant amount of damage to the tanks in Phase One.

Radioactive Core will also be difficult to heal. We recommend assigning at least two cooldowns each time it is cast.

Tank

The most difficult part of this encounter will be picking up all the adds before they start killing players.

If your raid is fine on damage, it is possible to employ a 3-tank strategy to make this process slightly more painless.

Treat Phase One as you would on Heroic, where tanks without the Dissonance debuff pick up new Pre-Fabricated Sentry, while the tank with the debuff will try to gather up the rest of the adds.

With so many targets, it is important to find a balance between how many adds each tank is holding threat on. If one tank has too many adds, they will be overwhelmed quickly.
