Row 1

Orb Operation Manual: Enables all players to use Sanity Restoration Orbs. The orb revives all nearby allies and restores Sanity to all near it while it is active. Only 3 may be used across the entire party in a single Vision. Cannot be used in combat.

Row 2

Singular Sanitation Expertise: 3 ranks. Reduces damage taken and increases damage done by 5%. Each ally within 100 yards reduces this bonus by 1%.
Expansive Mind: 3 ranks. Increases all party members' maximum Sanity by 50. This stacks with other party members that have also researched this upgrade.
Emergency Cranial Defibrillation: Once per vision, if you die or lose all Sanity, you revive instantly at full health and restore 500 Sanity. Requires 3/3 Singular Sanitation Expertise.
Synchronized Mind Stabilizer: The first revival you perform on an ally costs no Sanity. Requires 3/3 Expansive Mind.

Row 3

Clear Sight: 3 ranks. Able to see and loot treasure chests in Tainted areas.

Row 4

Elite Extermination: Defeating an Elite enemy within the Vision restores 200 Sanity.

Row 5

Experimental Destabilization: 3 ranks. While above 50% Sanity, your damage done is increased by 4%. While below 50% Sanity, your damage taken is reduced by 4%.
Vision Hunter: 3 ranks. Killing an enemy grants 1% increased movement speed and haste for 60 seconds. Stacks up to 5.

Gift of the Titans: Defeating enemies has a chance to grant Gift of the Titans, increasing haste and movement speed by 60% and giving immunity to Sanity loss for 20 seconds.

It seems as of 1/9/2020 they've nerfed the Expansive Mind upgrade to +50 per rank instead of 100. So 150 total for all 3 ranks.

feels like you should probably mention the pros and cons of doing this alone versus in a group, and differentiate the suggested research accordingly.

like if you're doing these alone, "Emergency Cranial Defibrillation" sounds extremely powerful, basically giving you 2 full lives.

The research/upgrade costs shown here are incorrect. On live as of today (US-Eitrigg) the second upgrade cost is 250, not 200. I had 237 and couldn't get it :(

So to sum it up the needed amount to cap your research is 70,150 mementos you will need to cap it all out.

I'm working on the 8th tech upgrade but the cost it says in game is 1350 corrupted mementos (not 1400). fyi.

I was also looking for basic tips on the upgrades. Example: for the Synchronized Mind Stabalizer is that useful at all to anyone who can't resurrect people (does the orb count and, if so, what's the benefit since you automatically get full sanity bar). Also on the left side although somewhat useless if you tend to party up for the first 3, the 4th is really great. Lastly, what's the deal with the chests from the Clear Sight tech? Seems like I got nothing looting, but maybe it just added to the final tally, where it did seem like I got more.

Sorry to say, but this was terrible advice. Skip this Mind Stabilizer and go Elite Extermination.

My primary issue with their recommended progression is putting Clear Sight (visible treasures) ahead of Emergency Cranial Defibrillation.

early on in your cloak progression, you REALLY do want that rez as an emergency in case you over extend in a vision and need JUST enough sanity to to clear the boss. This will be especially true for solo runners AND alts. The reality is that most people alts are naturally less powerful/played. As a result, having that small cushion can make a huge difference. And for solo players, almost regardless of skill level, it is remarkably easy to accidentally pull to many or pull too far in after forgetting to orb at the right point. It happens. That is precisely was ECD was designed for imo.

Placing ECD so low on the list is a disservice for progression in my opinion, and the author should consider re-listing this. Gaining Elite Extermination and Gift of the Titans a day earlier than you otherwise would (in ideal circumstances) doesn't outweigh the risk of someone losing out on cloak progression due to an untimely mistake that could have been saved. EE and GotT work best when you all ready have ECD, so that you can truly test your progression potential.

I know there is some disagreement or opinion on which path to take from the Row 2 set of talents, however I know I can certainly tell a difference in choosing one vs. the other dependent on whether you run as a group (2+) or solo.

My first character I chose the path with Expansive Mind because I figured +Sanity is always a good thing. I did notice though through the first runs, that +50 per orb (150 Total per run) really wasn't that great. I do them solo, so I never even picked up the Synchronized Mind Stabilizer talent. Then I went progressively down the talent tree and am currently one off of Gift of the Titans sitting at either cloak Rank 10 / 11 (Can't remember which one exactly). Based on not having the emergency fallback, I am often times finding depending on the pull, that I am inefficiently needing to drop orbs so I don't live in fear of failing a run and wasting a vision. A good example would be if you were in the Rexxar zone going against Rexxar and his pets with around 250 Sanity left. Without the emergency fallback, you might be essentially tempted to drop an orb, thus wasting 250 Sanity that will not be refilled as it currently exists in your pool. With the fallback, you fight and if you drop to zero... you pop right back to 500 and keep chugging along.

For my second toon, I decided to take the other path with +5 Damage / -5 Reduction coupled with Emergency Cranial Defibrillation. First, the bonus damage helps you while solo burn through most mobs. Second, having that emergency +500 sanity as a backup has proven to be so good. You can make so many different decisions with how you plan your run, and where you are at in the run. Do you want to drop an orb and top off prior to a pull... or just plow through and if you go to zero you instantly pop back up to 500. This toon is currently at the weekly gate level for the cloak, and can do entire clears with multiple masks.

I know as some others have mentioned in here that I am generally nervous and a bit jittery whenever I enter into a Vision, because while it is based on sanity, it is really in fact a speed run (Time Based) in my opinion. Having that emergency backup seems to take the edge off and loosen me up for the run.

I have since chosen this route for all of my other toons, and depending on iLevel, Class, Etc... they have all seemed to catch up pretty easily.

Again, this route is purely based on my experience and preference of running these solo. I'm quite certain that the same path would not be as good in a group based on the diminishing returns on Singular Sanitation Expertise.

Emergency Cranial Defribillation is currently not working properly, and is often not procing when it's supposed to.

There's currently a bug report post about it for almost 2 months now with no fix.

I would suggest it be mentioned in the post as you at this time cannot make change to things you've already picked so you're S.O.L.

No matter what order you research the upgrades, the cost in Corrupted Mementos is increased per upgrade: 100 - 150 - 250 - 400 - 600 - 900 - 1100 Corrupted Mementos

It seems the maximum cost for one talent point is 6,500 Corrupted Mementos. That was the price for my last acquisition and the price of the next one. I have four points left.
