Transit: Players can take the zeppelins in the northeast to Stranglethorn Vale or Tirisfal Glades. The only available flight path is located in Orgrimmar.

Terrain: Navigating parts of Durotar can be difficult as there are many ridges, ravines, and elevation changes. First! Nice pepega guide! Hope this gets me world first!

Comment by Snakeslick

This guide is very accurate and has already helped me alot! 10/10!

Comment by rathdin429

Excellent guide. There's a typographical error in the section "Recommended Leveling Zones (20 - 30)", The Barrens (Horde territory), under Terrain, which reads:

Terrain: The terrain of Stonetalon Mountains can be difficult to navigate outside of the main road leading through the zone, as there are many cliffs, ravines, and mountainous areas. The main road is effectively a bottleneck, so PvP encounters are more likely.

Looks like it's a simple copy/paste error from the Stonetalon Mountains Terrain description that you can fix when it's convenient.

Comment by Shadowner83

Why you say that Stranglethorn Vale doesn't have any dungeons? Or does Zul Gurub not qualify as a dungeon/raid/instance?

Comment by PriestOrangeLeaf

This is a very informative Guide, and I agree with most of the thoughts expressed here.

I would however recommend these modifications in the early game, and it has helped me a lot to do things this way:

Start in Durotar, unless you are a Tauren, Undead, or Elf.
*Making it relevant for TBC
Ideal Order *(If you are Tauren, Undead, Elf, get to level 5-8 in your starting zone then move to Durotar)
* Durotar finish all except Dark Storms, Hidden Enemies, and finding the Medallion in the river off crocolisk.
* Then Move into Mulgore, finish all--if possible Arra'chea and Ghost Howl as well. *(Ghost Howl is not always on the path shown by questie, sometimes he is more mid mulgore, south of the path shown.
The end of Mulgore is still tough this way, and arguably it would be better to do Tirisfal before some of the harder quests in Mulgore if travel time was not a factor.
*Tirisfal Glades --full clear
*Silverpine Forest --Skip The Weaver, and the quests after rothide ichor unless you have a group questing with you. These quests are not easily soloable. Pyrewood is also very difficult at these levels.
*Stonetalon Mountians
*Ashenvale
*Thousand Needles
^*If The PvP is not too intense on your server during your normal play times Hillsbrad Foothills would be the ideal place to go.
Once you get to level 20+ it is fairly hard to stay away from PvP zones, but some are worse than others.

!*(This Guide is built for PvP Server leveling, if you are on a PvE Server, for sure go to Hillsbrad after Thousand Needles, and straight to Stranglethorn Vale after that, possible with a stop to Arathai to kill the Ogres for "The Hammer May Fall" Then turn in in Hammerfall and get flightpath.)

One Exception to all I have written, around level 14-19 go into The Barrens and do two quests: The Forgotten Pools *(Quest chain), and Raptor Horns.

I recommend doing The RFC quests prior to this. Once you have the quest "Leaders of the Fang" and "Smart Drinks" also pick up "Serpentbloom", "Trouble at the Docks", "Deviate Eradication", and "Deviate Hides"

I will not link all the RFC quests, or other dungeon quests here, but do the Dungeons when you are in the level range. So in Ashenvale between level 28-32 try to run Blackfathom Depths. There is a good staff for casters, and quests give a good 1 hand sword for melee classes that can use it.

I recommend obtaining Atlas Loot as well for the version of the game you play.

*After most of your Hillsbrad and STV quests are done, Go to Arathai Highlands and do the lower level quests that you have there, after this point you will be zone jumping a lot to do the easier quests then going back to finish the harder ones. *(So get your mount if you can afford it)

*Badlands should come before you do any level 40+ quests in STV, and before Tanaris/Feralas/Hinterlands.

*Arathai Highlands/Swamp of Sorrows/Dustwallow Marsh/Tanaris *(Zul'Farrak)/Feralas*(One of the most fun imo)/Hinterlands
You should be close to level 50 after all of this, and you will still be able to do ZF, Recommend running Sunken Temple (The Temple of Atal'Hakkar), and by level 52 you can start running Blackrock Depths. Do not forget about Mara if you use 1 handed swords, at level 48 you can obtain Thrash Blade. Which is a must have for warrior tanks, fury warriors, rogues, and even paladin tanks. By the time you get to level 55, you will be able to enter one of the most hated dungeons in all of World of Warcraft, the Infamous Lower Blackrock Spire.

In classic content it is ideal to go in here to start Onyxia Attunement, but in The Burning Crusade, I say avoid this place unless you are a hunter and want to tame one of the wolves for its abilities.

If we are in Burning Crusade content, most of the other dungeons will be avoided--as they are suggested level 58-60, and by level 58 you can step through The Dark Portal, and enter Outlands.

*Searing Gorge would follow after you finish Hinterlands/Feralas--Tanaris has a few fun quests, but sometimes I opt to skip it entirely other than running some ZF for fun.

*After Searing Gorge you have so many options. I suggest avoiding Blasted Lands, the quests are mostly droprate, and not fun at all. However, if you are leveling mining as you level, there are some caves in the Blasted Lands that are great for leveling your mining skill + lots of mobs that drop cloths like mageweave and runecloth.

*Felwood, Un'Goro, Western Plaguelands are all decent areas to check out, but finish the harder quests or group quests that you skipped that are still green/yellow from previous zones first.

If you are not level 58 after doing all of these zones, you probably did something wrong. That being the case, run level appropriate dungeons. Maybe step into Eastern Plaguelands, Winterspring, or Silithus.. Silithus being the least desirable of them all.
