Although not as huge of an addition as the new raid or the new quests, the user interface we start at every time we log in got some nice perks too. First (and most important), you can now change the order your characters appear on the Character Selection Screen. This is a feature that has been long in the waiting, but it's finally here, and players casual and hardcore alike can rejoice!
Secondly, some of you may recall that one of Cataclysm's patches introduced the clean Grid-like party and raid frames - a change many players with native dislike for addons appreciated. Well, Patch 4.2 brings you the continuation of this feature - the
Raid Profiles
. This nifty little thing allows you to save multiple raid frames configurations and load them based on your current environment. You want your 5-man party setup to look different from your 25-man raid setup? No problem, you can just configure both, save them, and let the game load them automatically for you!
And finally, the desert - the
Dungeon Journal
! This tool allows you to read about almost everything you could possible care about every single boss, dungeon, and raid in the game! You will find general lore information, loot data, and even a detailed description of every boss encounter, complemented with a few tips for extra good performance. You can access this baby by clicking on a boss' portrait while looking at an instance map, by clicking the icon in your manu, or by using the (default) shortcut
Shift+J
.

Character Order
One of the most sought features in WoW finally arrives. Rejoice, fellow players, for you can now change the order your characters appear on the Character Selection screen. There are two different ways to do this; for one you can use the arrows that appear on mouseover, or you can simply drag the characters up and down the list.
Raid Profiles
Raid Profiles is an automatic save-load configuration tool for Blizzard's default party/raid frames. When you access it through the
Interface > Game > Raid Profiles
menu, you will see a number of options you may already be familiar with if you have used an addon like
Grid
. Some of the classical settings allow you to change the appearance of your raid frames, show/hide information like power (i.e. mana, energy, focus, etc) and incoming heals, or even set a number of conditions for automatic activation of a given profile. The Auto-Activate option allows you flag each profile with any combination of Group Size, Talent Spec, and Player-vs-???, so if you fancy having a profile for the times when you are in a group with only 2 other people, while in our primary spec, and flagged for PvP - you can make one!
