Changes to Survival Hunter in WoW ForeverNew Abilities and Talents in WoW Forever

Spell

Description

A simple Melee "kick" ability that does 100% of your Melee damage and increases your movement speed for 3 seconds. 8-second cooldown. It does NOT interrupt.

Predator's Edge - Talent

Increases your melee critical strike damage by 30% and your offhand weapon damage by 50%. The offhand damage increase of this looks really strong compared to other dual-wielding classes.

Expose Prey - Talent

Your attacks against targets with Hunter's Mark have a 10% chance to activate your Mongoose Bite for 5 seconds. This is what makes Mongoose Bite usable in your rotation without having to dodge.

Resourcefulness - Talent

This talent reduces the mana cost of your trap and melee abilities by 60% and gives your crits a chance to increase your mana regeneration for 30 seconds. This is basically the talent that will keep your mana bar up.

Survivalist's Discipline - Talent

Reduces the cooldown of your Trap and Deterrence abilities by 40%. Simple but effective, as trap cooldowns have been increased to a 30-second baseline in Forever.

Lacerating Strikes - Talent

The new capstone talent for Survival. Causes the target of your Mongoose Bite to also bleed for a pretty long duration.

Changes to Existing Abilities and Talents in WoW Forever

Spell

Change

Mongoose Bite - Ability

Counterattack the enemy for melee weapon damage plus a flat amount. Only usable after dodging unless you get Expose Prey. It is not a flat amount of damage anymore but uses weapon damage.

Improved Tracking - Talent

Monster Tracking and Humanoid Tracking are combined into one talent. It now increases all damage against your tracked creature type by 5% at max rank. It also now works for all the tracking abilities a Hunter has.

Entrapment - Talent

Now always roots all targets affected by a trap when it's triggered for a maximum of 5 seconds at max rank.

Survival Tactics - Talent

Combined both the trap and Feign Death hit chance talents of Classic into one.

Counterattack - Talent

A strike that becomes active after parrying an opponent's attack. Now scales with your weapon damage instead of doing a flat amount of damage.

Comment by Seamus

I’m completely new to WoW and will start playing on November 4th, so I’m trying not to read too much and just learn by playing butn I’m really interested in Survival, but I was wondering: does it work well with a pet while still having some ranged damage, or is it basically a pure melee spec?

Thanks! And sorry if this isn´t the right place to ask
