Crafting Old Tier 3 ArmorDrop Dead, GorgeousNOTE: A complete set of Tier 3 armor will require 1400 Phylacterweave (or 2.8 million gold in vendor mats) and 80 Righteous Orb.

NOTE 2: Although Tier 3 sets created in this manner can be equipped by any classes that share its armor type, you need to create the pieces using the desired class to earn the correct tier set. As an example, you'll need a Mage to unlock pieces of the Frostfire Regalia set (Mage tier 3), but once you have them unlocked, you can transmog the pieces on your Warlock and Priest characters.

Loot a Lamented Crusader piece of gear from Zackett's Dented Gear tokens. These can be bought from the Auction House.

Repair the Lamented piece of gear by using one of the cursed Naxxramas items. The recipes can only be obtained by someone who has the achievement Drop Dead, Gorgeous from collecting a full Tier 3 set, but you can work order for these if you don't have the achievement. This will turn the piece into a Desecrated piece of gear:

Cursed Cloth (Mage, Priest, Warlock): Crafted by Tailors with 300 Classic Tailoring and the achievement Drop Dead, Gorgeous.

Languished Leather (Druid, Rogue): Crafted by Leatherworkers with 300 Classic Leatherworking and the achievement Drop Dead, Gorgeous.

Is the old Naxramus unlock bugged? When I use a ward on my dk and druid and then douse it with holy water the summon disappears and I receive no buff, this is while wearing the Argent dawn commission, been this way since the time walking event started.

Comment by Monkhound

Instead of the Commission of the Dawn, the Seal of the Dawn or Rune of the Dawn from a quest from way back also work.

Comment by pyrhaa

I'm doing this with a low reputation of Argent Dawn and I want to bump this reputation but every quest I do my reputation goes to the wrath of the lich king equivalent Argent Crusade. will this reputation be enough ? Or where can I up Argent Dawn rep these days?

Comment by Falquan

This seems to be bugged in a really annoying way at the moment.
If you arrive at the locked door before the patrol with 50 seconds on the buff, the will will open in 50 seconds... as soon as the buff drops. If you arrive with 25 seconds left, it opens in 25 seconds, as soon as the buff drops. If you arrive without the buff it opens in only a few seconds.
But it seems the door will not open with the buff in place, meaning this is impossible to complete because you can't get to Rivendare until after the buff has dropped.

Comment by Nykra

I don't believe the 5 minute timer can be soloed. By the time you get to "Ramstein the Gorger" for him to spawn you need to clear out all the trash in the courtyard. Then before the door opens for Lord Aurius Rivendare his guards need to be killed. All to be done with a 46 - 50 sec. left on the timer.

Comment by Burkel

definitely a miss-sell to call it "Old Naxx" when its just the wrath version with extra things :P

Comment by jaharadrim

So... I get the Sleight of Hand buff, no problem there. But it vanishes as soon as I exit Stratholm.
Any reason why? Or is it a new bug?

Comment by Fleety

"ead to the entrance of the Crusader's Cathedral, but don't enter it. Instead, use your Ward of Naxxramas and turn to the left. If done correctly, you will see a Dread Ward of Naxxramas right next to the gates there."

"If done correctly" that's a great caveat. I've tried this several time, but as I don't see any Ward of Naxxramas I must be doing something wrong. I wonder what? ;-)

Comment by Tequima

The hardest part of this is not collecting all the items, with the low chance of the Dented item converting into a Lamented Crusader's item.

Nor the 2.8million gold for the vendor mats (+ 80 Righteous Orbs) to purify the item.

Nor that there is no easy way in-game to check which items you have already earned. The achievement is a Feat of Strength and even when you use a script it gives a binary Y/N rather than progress. I'm pretty sure the "Heroes" WotLK versions don't count. However in the in-game Appearance Tracker, they're all lumped under "Naxraamas", with no separate list for T3 v WotLK Nax. When I mouse-over say Dreamwalker Helm in the BMAH, it says I've collected it - but have I?

No, it is FINDING one of the approx. 1.24% of the entire WoW Population who:
(a) has the Drop Dead, Gorgeous achievement (i.e. played in Vanilla, raided AND got the full tier set + items, or has found someone who did and done the grind) and
(b) is still playing &
(c) online & willing to craft the item for you...

This website gives a partial list, https://www.exophase.com/achievement/world-of-warcraft-blizzard/4661-drop-dead-gorgeous/
that or manually checking your long-playing guildmates, or trawling through on DataForAzeroth.com for the Achievement, or sitting in Trade for weeks asking (apparently).

Can you do the Stratholme part in a group or solo only?

Comment by Tahuma

*Please* add in the required items needed before doing the grappling hook puzzle, not tell you after that you need another stratholme holy water + a whole bunch of other random stuff. It would save us a lot of time.

Also you do not need the trinket equipped to gather scourgestones at all. I don't know if this was a change later or not, but simply having the feat of strength unlocked from completing the stratholme portion is enough for them to start dropping.

Comment by Xestry

Small tip from me when you are doing that 'speedrun' to reach the Hand of Naxxramas in that step; try and avoid the 'Crypt Beast' enemies (the giant spider ones) if possible (or kill them asap if you notice one chasing you if you can do so in a way that doesn't lose you time). They can hit you with an 8 second root if you're unlucky, and that can be the difference between succeeding or failing!
