Dwarf 3.0

Comment by SaltyTerranym

Gonna play an Earthen Dwarf Enhancement Shaman with the preorder armor and the trading post hammers. Storm rider title. Fully on brand.

Comment by Jarngeist

I'm surprised and excited about Earthen DKs, not sure what explanation we'll have for it.

Comment by Sibearian

Not my horde

Comment by Crownfucnroyal

Waste of an expansion race. We didn't need a 3rd playable dwarf race. Should have given us something we didnt have at all. Tuskarr, gnoll, tortollan.

Earthen were an allied race at best.

Comment by Wolfb

Awe, was hoping for a druid version of them :( would love to be a big ol' ram for travle form and maybe a diamond bear or something. Maybe linx for cat form and those toad skippers for swimming. either way pretty cool :)

Comment by AngerySnek

Now we just need the model/appearance of every Alliance race on horde side and vice versa. I've wanted a night elf look on Horde forever. I feel like they missed the chance to make Void Elves neutral since they fit Horde better, thematically imo

Comment by SmashFacePlayz

When the Earthen were first popping up and being talked about... I made the mistake of getting my hopes up and waiting for the announcement of the Earth Shaman tank spec... I know it will never happen, but I am still holding onto hope!

Comment by HeatherWind

I'm honestly thrilled they're a neutral faction, so I can play one as Horde. Also pleased the females have beard options too.

My only note is I wish they could be druids — I'd love to see their wild shapes!

Comment by Lyoo

Shame they cant be druids. What can be more nature like then a race made of rock.

Comment by Klade

I guess you can say that Earthen have rock-hard abs :)

Comment by LunarD3ATH

I'm finding it harder to be excited about new expansions with allied races being a cop-out for something more... exciting.

I suppose with the Dracthyr in the previous expansion, we did get a pretty big option in the form of a new class AND new race, but even still, I can't hide my disappointment at yet another reskinned Dwarf. I'm more disappointed than when they just gave us updated models for Warlords of Draenor instead of anything actually new... I wonder if this is how the Elf-haters felt when we got Void Elves.

Hopefully we get something a bit more unique in the later expansions. I'm sure plenty of people have been wanting Earthen for a long time, so this is no doubt perfect for them, so at least someone's happy. I've just never been able to commit to Dwarf characters and I've tried. If it wasn't gonna happen with the Dark Iron Dwarves, it's not gonna happen with Shiny McRockface.

It was a good call making them neutral, though. Maybe one day this whole faction split for races can go in the dumpster and we can pick our factions however we like for whatever characters we like. I mean I like Void Elves, but if I had the option to create an Alliance Elf that didn't have an emo fit every time he entered battle, I'd probably choose that over what we have now. No, Dracthyr don't count. They're not really elves and they only have one class.

Comment by Mangzane

The race is part of a selling point of the expansion. Why the $%^& is it not immediately available?

Comment by Scaryfox

That starting pet looks pretty cool. I thought the ways to prevent you from unlocking the Heritage Armor were removed for allied races.

Comment by Daxi2424

ofc we need more Dwarfs

Comment by psz90

Wow male and female? Pls respect body types lull

Comment by Zermatt

I know it's a far cry, but Y U NO DK, earthen?

Comment by Kaerfemagsh

this guide says we need "hope an anomaly" but in game says we need "merrix and steelvein".

Comment by Charlietuna93

anyone know if you can race change as soon as they're unlocked?

Comment by gustt

I'm missing the "The War Within Campaign" section (I'm at level 80, with the leveling campaign completed and renown 5+ in every area)... anyone knows if it is really possible to unlock the Allied Race in the Early Acess?

Comment by Arca500

Kinda miffed they give us early access but say "lol no you can't start earning your Earthen yet" like really? You sell 3 day early access but new race is no no? It's a stunted complaint given soon it'll be live either way.

Comment by Porcelina333

ENGINEERS! One of the quests rewards a soulbound Engineering schematic so I wish I had done this quest chain with an alt that had engineering. You've been warned.

Comment by Shadowtek

going by blizzards trackrecord it is going to take 2-3 weeks from official launch before you even get access to the new allied race. as it stands now we're at 2/5 progress of the war within storyline and if we're lucky we get next 1-2 parts on reset wich still makes us wait another week for the last part of the campaign. smh

when will blizzard devs learn that timegating content is *!@#ing stupid? and shows the player one thing. we didnt develop enough content for you to play at launch so we are going to smack you around and torment you with rewards you cant have yet

Comment by Boudica79

Much as I like the ram, it's pretty redundant as a mount unless is can grow wings like some of the other mounts since we get skyriding at lv10 now! Surely a flying mount of some description would have been a better choice......but then that would make too much sense!

Comment by Yzz86

It seems like the writer of this article seems to miss that we probably need to finish all of the campaign, not just the level-up part. I mean, I just did the whole "fleet arrives" and then storm riders after that, but uhm, nothing? I also have renown 7 or 8 for all the factions. So feels like this guide is lacking quite a bit of crucial information.

Comment by MaridiusOG

For anyone coming here and looking for how to do this and not wanting to dig through tons of threads that some are months old.

You can't unlock Earthen until September 3rd, 2024 when the 5th chapter of the campaign unlocks. It's as simple as that.

Comment by Belraer

It is the 3th september and nothing to see regarding unlock the earthen. Are the information correct?

Comment by MagicPants900

ITS THE 3rd SEPT! where my female bearded dwarf!

Comment by ijvevhm

Heritage Armor section is apparently innacurate; Blizz released a blue post last month clarifying that race/faction change or level boosting no longer disqualifies players from receiving heritage armor. Can confirm this myself, just race changed my blood elf to an earthen and unlocked the heritage armor immediately.

Comment by stefanw1337

Can't figure out the "A light in the dark" requirement in "War Within campaign", as there's no achievement called that. And no quest called that. So wtf blizz? Screen for completing the War Within campaign has already gone on my screen ages ago and it says 4/5 now, and I need to wait for a word from Alleria, and I'm stuck completing this to unlock the Earthens, am I bugged?

Also couldn't care less, it's a reskin dwarf race, copy paste to both factions, lazy and boring this expansion.

Comment by knitwhit

If they can't consume food how do they self heal or get mana regen?

Comment by Haggersta

For those as confused as I about where to start the last part of the campaign - go see Alleria at /way 31 59. She'll give you a quest called "A Tide Needing Turned".

Comment by Rayjin24

For anyone searching, they can't drink to get mana back, HOWEVER you CAN "eat" mage food to get mana back, I think this might be an oversight as there clearly are Earthen that "drink" mead or beer in Dornagal... So I can only hope they change it and let them drink normal mana drinks just not food....

Comment by Cridi1

so they literaly made a race where you cant eat normal food to regen hp/mana you need magefood? What kind of a stopid idea is that

Comment by Arcanostic

Just FYI, I got my heritage armor even though I boosted.

Comment by Korrhound

For anyone wondering - even though Earthens can't eat and drink regular food, they can ingest Khaz Algar gems for health and mana

Comment by blizzard60

Forgive me if it's already been discussed here (I couldn't find it if there was), but if one of your toons has done this questline, do subsequent toons need to as well? TY!

Comment by BunzLee

If you're also frustrated with the fact that the Earthen can not consume food, look no further. In case you've missed it - Belga in Dornogal sells vendor gems with the sole purpose of being consumables for the Earthen. She can be found on the south side of the central smithy.

Spicy Rubies, Sour Topaz Bites and Crunchy Rock Candy can be purchased from her for a handfull of silver. While Spicy Rubies seems to give you a crit buff, the other two don't appear to apply any kind of buff. I'm pretty confident that this is a bug, since the tooltip appears to mention that they should override any previous buffs. Still, if you use these, make sure you don't accidentally override your more expensive buffs applied from jewelcrafting gems. Be aware though that the jewelcrafting gems do NOT give you higher quality buffs, no matter the rank and/or quality of the gem.

Comment by ricangsxrdude

Since I've had such great success doing this, I wanted to share with you all. If you want to level quickly with the least amount of effort, just fly throughout all the maps. I am currently level 40 and I think I have done 10 levels per hour, if not more, just unlocking the maps. I just got to BC expansion and the XP is considerable just unlocking each area. Hope that helps y'all ^_^

Comment by Magnezone

Does anyone know how to get our hands on Khaz Algar gems and such while leveling?

Comment by Saskua

Just some curous side note: How the Heck do you can change the effect of your well fed buff? There is no spell to consume shards, and even the sold shards do... NOTHING! Any help is appreciated.

Comment by MadSatchel

There is WAY more to it than what is listed in this "guide". How Scandalous! doesn't even show for me and I have completed everything before it, at least that I can tell. I am so lost.

Comment by shanekuchler

So, my question.......800 quests so far and I still do not have an Earthern. have done ZERO SIDE QUESTS. don't you think that is just a bit goddam*n ridiculous? Probably not because every new expansion we have to do at least 800 goddam*n quests for pathfinder to fly or for an allied race. # stupid story lines are way too F@#*ing long.......

Comment by Baadkitty

https://www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/rediscover-with-tomtom

I already had the world explorer achievement, but this addon takes that into account.

Leveling with your earthen! Currently up to date excluding TWW. Just pushed a new earthen with this addon to 70 in about 4 hours.

Comment by MikeMJG

Why do some allied races have 4 colors for the heritage set and regular races only have 2?

I'd love to have my Night Elf and Blood Elf heritage sets with 2 more color options. Am I missing something or do they just not exist? Does anyone know which races have more than 2 colors and which dont? I know blood elf and night elf only have 2.

Comment by kabethari

Where do LOW-LEVEL Earthen get gems to consume?

Comment by PadriacRiley

Weren't the Pandas the first Neutral Allied race? I know I've played one as both Alliance and Horde.

Comment by Apolyptica

If you have done enough progress during the Season 3 Delver's Journey,
you can use Delver's Mana-Bound Ethergate to go to Dornogal at any level and buy gems !

Comment by wahyaunega

Unlocking Earthen in Midnight has become a little more complicated. If you are like me and late to the game, The requirements changed up a bit and unfortunately the Catch Up Campaign doesn't hit them all. You still have to push The War Within Campaign a little further than The War Within.

You must complete the following ( and this is the order that I would recommend doing them in or you may get stuck while attempting to complete Merrix and Steelvein.

Also if you get stuck where the next quest giver you need is not there, check to see if you progressed the campaign story far enough. If you have and the NPC just isn't there, ask in General Chat for someone, anyone that is on the quest you are looking for so you can party sync to see the NPC. Pick up, Do, and Turn in the quest before breaking the party sync. After that you should be good to continue. I ran into that in picking up The Archive in Earthen Fissures

The War Within Achievement Stories:

Isle of Dorn Stories: (Needed to progress through all of Merrix and Steelvein)

The Ringing Deeps Stories: (Needed to progress through all of Merrix and Steelvein)

The three Additional Stories:

Mourning Rise - This is in The Isle of Dorn and might be listed as "Remember Me. Earthen"
Merrix and Steelvein - This is in The Isle of Dorn and might be listed as "Behind Closed Doors"
Broken Tools - This is in The Ringing Deeps listed as Broken Tools

If you haven't done up through The Machines March to War Merrix will not be in is office to continue his story line. As I have gathered through the various comments on each part of the quest. takinupspace added a comment to a post that is helpful in the "breaks" in the storyline including waypoints. Bad Business Comment by takinupspace

If you are using an Addon to help track and find quests (I used BtWQuests) I've listed the names of the Storylines in their zones behind the additional quests.

Comment by Boskov01

I unlocked the Earthen Heritage armor, but I only got three of the four sets. I'm missing the gold and blue set (4th set shown). Is there something I'm missing? Is it tied to a separate quest or achievement?
