Mark of Solarian

Mark of Solarian is a stacking debuff that reduces Arcane Resistance by 15 for each stack.

Wrath of the Astromancer

Wrath of the Astromancer is a debuff that targets a random player and, after 6 seconds, will explode, dealing around 6k damage to the target, sending them into the air, also doing so to anyone else in range of the target. The target itself will not take fall damage when landing, but those hit by it will, instantly killing them.

Blinding Light

Blinding Light deals Arcane damage to the entire raid every 20 seconds.

Arcane Missiles

Arcane Missiles will target a random player in the raid and channel Arcane damage over time. It can not be interrupted.

Solarium Portals

Every 50 seconds, High Astromancer Solarian will disappear, and multiple rays of light will spawn enemies. Multiple non-elite Solarium Agent will spawn and can be easily AOE'd down by the raid. When High Astromancer Solarian re-spawns, she will bring two Solarium Priest with her, which can be interrupted and/or stunned by raiders.

Solarian Transform

Solarion Transformation takes place when the Boss reaches 20% total health. At this point, High Astromancer Solarian will turn into a large Voidwalker with two abilities, Arcane Bolt and Psychic Scream. The Main Tank will need Fear Ward and Tremor Totem, and the rest of the encounter is a tank and spank.

During Phase One, High Astromancer Solarian has no threat table, as she will channel Arcane Missiles at random players, ignoring threat completely. During Phase One, Tanks should not wear a shield and should just focus on dealing as much damage as possible.

During Portal Phases, Tanks need to pick up the Solarium Agents and Solarium Priests. Protection Paladins are especially valuable during this phase, as they are great at AoE tanking.

In Phase Three, the Main Tank will pick up the Boss, and it is recommended that the Tank have Fear Ward and Tremor Totem, to ignore the fear mechanic completely.

Tips for Melee on High Astromancer Solarian

Melee can go absolutely crazy during Phase One, as there is no threat table and the boss can not Dodge attacks while channeling a Spell.

In Phase Two, Rogues should be prepared to Kick and Kidney Shot the Solarium Priests.

Tips for Ranged on High Astromancer Solarian

During Phase One, all Ranged should be clumped up together to make it easier for the raider that gets Wrath of the Astromancer to easily move out of the raid and avoid dealing raid damage.

During Phase Two, all Ranged damage dealers with AoE abilities should AoE down the Solarium Agents quickly.

Tips for Healers on High Astromancer Solarian

During Phase One, all Ranged should be clumped up together to make it easier for the raider that gets Wrath of the Astromancer to easily move out of the raid and avoid dealing raid damage.

Priests should keep up a rotation of Fear Ward on the Main Tank during Phase Three to avoid the Tank being feared.

This guide is severely lacking in its description of one of the main mechanics of this fight, namely the handling of Wrath of the Astromancer Wrath of the Astromancer. This mechanic has existed in two completely different forms. Initially it was a short DoT Wrath of the Astromancer that bounces between players leaving another debuff Wrath of the Astromancer increasing damage taken, but was later replaced with a more simple "bomb" mechanic (Wrath of the Astromancer) that did AoE damage after a few seconds.

Now I have not checked PTR lately but from earlier testing it was clear that with the current implementation of the fight, it would be released using the old implementation of Wrath. This guide mixes information about the old one (as in the note about "Arcane Soakers") but for the Ranged and Healer Tips, as well as the list of boss abilities the newer version is also used.

Whatever version will end up on live servers I feel this guide needs some cleaning up on how it describes that mechanic. Additionally if we actually do get the old version, then the guide is lacking guidance on how to handle that apart from the small mention of arcane soakers.

Old wrath of the astromancer: Applies two debuffs: One is 8 seconds long and deals 500 arcane damage/sec then bounces to the nearest player after expiry. Second debuff is 45 seconds long and increases arcane damage taken by 50% and stacks. Players that the wrath bounces to will receive a stack of the 45 second 50% arcane vulnerability debuff.

The first debuff does not stack per se but you can have multiple instances of it on you all of which tick for damage, each one gives you an extra stack of the second debuff.

Two ways to deal with the old Wrath of the Astromancer:

Normal strategy: Have players who do not have the 45 second debuff move towards players who have an active Wrath (they will glow blue/white). Have players who do have the 45 second debuff move away from players with an active wrath. This makes sure no one ever gets more than 1 stack of the 45 second arcane vulnerability and won't be gibbed by arcane missiles.

Healers can use something like a /assist High Astromancer Solarian /cast Flash Heal macro to make sure people don't die to arcane missiles.

Arcane soaker zerg strategy: Have two tanks cap out their arcane resist and stand on top of each other. The active wrath player will run close enough to the two tanks to bounce it to them every time a wrath goes out. The tanks bounce it between each other. They're going to need serious healing but it does reduce execution and awareness requirement for the rest of the raid. As Mark of Solarian erodes their arcane resistance and more and more wraths go out they're going to start to take excessive damage and will probably die in under a second around 5 minutes into the fight so you'll need to kill her fast. If the soakers die it's likely that numerous people in the raid will get 5-6 wraths at once and die instantly one after the other.

I have also seen some guilds who were struggling on this fight on ptr due to lack of dps just put the entire raid in ~250 arcane resist and drop to 3-4 healers, she more or less falls over dead.
