Using the Class Hall to Farm Marks of Honor

Farming Marks of Honor

This guide is intended to help you minimize your time and maximize the farming of this most useful currency: Mark of Honor. This guide provides a general overview of the farming process and some specific tips per Class Hall that will help you maximize your success in farming. Lastly, if you find anything that is incorrect or out-of-date, or if you want me to add something, please leave a comment and I will do my best to make the change or addition. For detailed information about building out your Class Hall to start farming, please see the excellent guide by Wowhead: Legion Class Hall Overview and the very detailed Class Hall Missions guide by Tritox for in-depth explanations of the different parts of the Mission system. I relied quite heavily on Tritox's guide in particular in writing this guide.

As you know, this currency is used to purchase PVP gear items and sets, cosmetic appearances, heirloom gear, recipes, and other items. Preparing to FarmPreparation

Get your Class Hall campaign to a point where you have at least three Champions and access to the Missions table.

Level the champions to at least level 45 and to the Rare quality to unlock the first equipment slot on each champion.

Complete one of the PVP World Quests (killing a named NPC and a bunch of guards at one of the PVP towers across the Broken Isles.

As you unlock equipment slots, you can add equipment that boosts Mission success (see the Champion Equipment section below for details).

Make sure you have selected the appropriate Class Hall advancements (see the Class Hall Advancements section below for details) that boost mission success.

Add 90 points of armor power levels to your champions to reach power level 850 AFTER they all reach level 45 and Rare quality. Boosting their power levels early can affect what missions you receive so it’s best to keep them all at the starting power level (760) until you have the suggested equipment and armor set tokens.

Congrats, you should now see the mission A Good Dust-up appear in your Mission table.

Mark of HonorFarming

Send the appropriate champions (see Champion Strategy below for details) on the mission and once complete, collect your Mark of Honor and MAKE SURE YOU DELETE the Battle Report quest item that gets placed in your bags when you complete the mission.

Check back to your Mission table in 13-14 days and repeat these steps until you’ve earned all the marks you want or need.

Additional Notes About Farming

Use classes that have easy access to their Class Halls in Dalaran and therefore have quick access to a mailbox -Mage has it in the Class Hall.

In my opinion the best classes to use for farming are Mage, Rogue, Paladin, Priest and Warlock. They all have easy access to mailboxes in the Hall or Dalaran and they all can use work orders to speed up the acquisition of Armor Sets and Equipment while you are leveling your Champions.

Why is Mage the best? The ability to quickly portal themselves to the Class Hall, a Mailbox IN the Hall, they can use the +20% success on the first mission of the day Advancement, and they can use work orders to collect the necessary Armor and Equipment and the collection point is next to the mission table so it minimizes running around the Class Hall. So why not run severalMage alts??

Remember that Champion Equipment bonuses will stack. Thus, if you have two slots open for a champion and you add Vial of Timeless Breath to both slots, you will get an 80% bonus 40%x2!

Use a spreadsheet to track the days when the mission pops up on the mission table for each character that is farming. It's easier to check a spreadsheet than to log into each character and use macros or /run commands to see if the mission is up. I have a spreadsheet that keeps track of the date when the mission popped up and calculates a date 14 days ahead in a second column. Thus, I can easily see, at a glance, which of my characters to log into and check for the mission.

I can't stress this enough. You need to delete the Battle Report after the mission is complete. If it remains in your inventory (bags OR bank) the mission will NOT return until you delete it. And, worse, if you COMPLETE the quest it gives for a character, that character won't see the mission any longer.

Back to the Top Chamipion Equipment and Armor

As noted earlier, your champions need an armor level of 850 and at least one open equipment slot. The armor and equipment items are common to all Class Halls so I suggest you collect these items as you level your champions to 45 and get them to the Rare quality. If your Class Hall can use work orders to create equipment (a Tier 3 advancement), you should keep the work orders going until you have at least three pieces of equipment that boost success chances and 270 levels of armor power in your bags/bank waiting for your Champions to open up their equipment slots. Shaman and Death Knights also have specific items of Equipment I suggest you use if possible. Note that I have eliminated equipment that does not boost success chances. However, you can use the equipment which lowers the mission time or returns gold if you want as a bonus to the Mark of Honor.

Important Note: You want to collect equipment that boosts success chance on missions LONGER THAN EIGHT HOURS because the mission takes sixteen hours to complete. There are success chance boosts that increase chances for missions SHORTER than eight hours. These won't help your farming.

Unless you have unlocked the Argus content, you will also need to collect 90 points of power level upgrades for each of the three champions. They start at power level 760. There are missions to return Armor sets that add 5, 10, or 15 power levels of armor to a champion: Invincible Armor Set (worth 15 levels), Spiked Armor Set (worth 10 levels), and Bulky Armor Set (worth 5 levels). The Argus Armor Set (Krokul Armor Set) sets your Champion power level to 900 in one shot and there are several other Argus Armor sets that also give you the necessary power levels.
