Hello, friend. I have seen your Timewalking guide before in reddit and it must have been a lot of work to adapt it here to Wowhead. Great work.
I was the one who did a small guide in WoW Forum topic "Timewalking BiS gearing". And, after seen yours, i felt inspired to do an in-depth of my own.

Awesome guide. Bookmarking this. I only recently starting doing timewalking and now it's one of my favorite things, especially on my prot paladin that absolutely goes off. She's pretty decked out in 5str/6sta gems and in most groups she is >50% of groups total damage and Word of Glory does is basically a repeatable LOH. Pulls are often "everything up to the next boss... at least". My priest is not quite so exciting but can lead many groups on single target dps... as holy! Sometimes I just go shadow anyway (looking at you Caverns of Time) since my dps is so strong and can get away with occasional Shadow Mend depending on tank. For better or worse I took an 8 year break and missed out on the MoP and WoD legendaries but managing well enough.
Though I was familiar with most of the info here I really appreciate the info on trinkets, plus glad to see some confirmation on many of my choices. I've been using Discordant Chorus a while mostly because it just procs SO MUCH and even if damage weren't significant I figured it helps with snagging agro during my wild pulls (plus visual is sweet). Is there anything else of any effect that procs that much? Was struggling to figure out a second one though and going to check out some of these. I may have to also try out some non-azerite/HoA combos at some point to see how that stacks up but hard to imagine those being better. Though I do use SL legendary shoulders currently with Bulwark of Righteous Fury.
A minor addition I'd add is an shield-enchant for war/paladin tanks - currently I've gone with vitality (+4 vers/sta) but entirely possible +5 dodge or mastery might work better.

With Cata TW this week in May I did some tests out on some more dps/tank trinkets and some "broken" tank trinkets as a Ret Paladin. My TW twink set is coming along nicely, doing almost 60-75% group damage.

DPS trinkets-Deathbringer's Will--Ravaged Seed Pod--Umbral Moonglaives are def the go-to trinkets. I don't have the tiny jar trinket so I couldn't test that one yet. The other trinkets basically did no damage overall throughout the entire dungeon run.

Tank trinkets-Phantasmal Echo is amazing.

There are also some "cheat death" trinkets that are insane to have:

Royal Dagger Haft--Bwonsamdi's Bargain--Splintered Heart of Al'ar--as a dps doing such high damage I usually steal aggro constantly, so sometimes I will run these tank trinkets just to help keep myself alive, but 2 cheat death trinkets is just too good to pass up on.

The "broken" tank trinkets--the reason why I say these are broken is because of the scaling of these trinkets. For whatever reason the numbers did not get nerfed with the item level squish.

Heart of Thunder--this trinket at item level 40 currently increases your maximum HP by 1,768 for 15 seconds, which is insanely high for its item level.

Parjesh's Medallion--this trinket at item level 50 currently when it procs increases your HP by 3,045 and your mastery by 27 for 12 seconds, which again is insanely high for its item level.

Honorable Mention--2 rings that have 2 sockets item level 35 and item level 34

Gormok's Band theres an alliance version of this ring too

This is a great general guide but I think there are some better choices for BC.Wrath weeks with sunwell/crafted gear with more sockets and better bonuses

It's a real shame that Unerring Vision of Lei-Shen was seemingly nerfed into the ground at some point after MoP, because that would be fantastic in timewalking

This is a great writup thank you. Aiming for a timewalking set has actually breathed a little more life into the game for me since endgame content is getting a bit stale atm.

You mentioned using azerite gear and the Heart of Azeroth, but these will not work in the upcoming mage tower correct?

If thats the case, the other gear should be the way to go or is azerite gear still worth it to some degree?

A fantastic guide! Thank you very much for creating this! I have some questions though.

1) In the BiS list of Strength/Plate users, regarding the Waist/Belt slot, isn't Demolisher's Reinforced Belt (Mythic version, perhaps even Mythic Warforged?) better than the other options listed there?

2) Regarding the Trinket choices of Strength/Plate users, are Trinkets such as Relic of Xuen and Scabbard of Kyanos even worth considering at all?

3) Do Ret Paladins scale well with Azerite Pieces in Timewalking? I've never tested that out myself.

Regarding dps trinks, for those unable to get the mythic stuff, Im wondering how well the MoP Ghost Iron Dragonling trink might go. You can add the tinkers items that increase 3 sets of stats, and the dragonling itself can do decent dps on lower level characters. If you use the crafting item that upgrades the dragonling to a higher level it might be interesting to see how it does. I plan to test it today and see what kind of percentage damage it does for an appropriate level character.

My comments below pertain to the upcoming mage tower challenge ruleset:

One small mention regarding the shoulder enchants for casters: Greater Crane wing is NOT usable on Celumbra (too high level), so it's actually easier to throw it on a 2 socket piece and still get equal or better stats (unless crit/haste is exactly what you want).

Also, it looks like the legendary meta gems are not going to be usable. I'd recommend not buying them until that changes.

Ditto on the Heart of Azeroth essences, which is a bummer. It's still worth using the neck for the stats if you're using the cloak as well for the proc. If you're using the Pandaria legendary cloak instead, then definitely get the Archaeology neck instead (by far the most annoying thing to get on this list).

Sha-Touched Weapons are strong if you got them back in MoP. You can use one of these legendary gems: Intellect, Agility and Strength. You can also add another socket with Eye of the Black Prince. ? but you cant because eye of the black prince is only for weapons from tot and sha touched is limited to the first tier?

Never understood why people either ignore or forgot about the Legion intro quest chain gloves ending with Hiding in the Stacks
Depending on the content the damage proc vs demons is a not insignificant damage bonus (especially for TBC TW). And the Ilevel starts at 45 with chance to proc to level 50 and all of the other random upgrades (socket, indestructible/leech/speed/avoidance)

Just to be clear: Current items scale down, but does the same apply the other way around and older items can scale up?

Your statement "It is not recommended to use older items for newer content e.g. Shadowmourne for Cataclysm Timewalking" suggests that this is not so.

So ... looking at the new mage tower challenges, would it be correct to say, that only items from Legion, BfA, and Shadowlands should be considered?

A question regarding gems, since the bis neck is the prizerockband if you do not use the heart of azeroth. Wouldn't it be best to also slot in a Saber's eye gem into that? Since you can socket 1 Saber's eye into your gear that is of legion quality. Or is the prizerock of to low a level?

It's just a small thing, but for the helms you can craft MoP helms with 2 sockets that can have there level adjusted with the crafters mark, so you can choose between several different helms with different stats. As a further aside, there is a mail helm from archaeology that has 3 gem slots, but it is only level 25 iirc so probably not of interest unless you really want certain gems. Whilst I think about it, engineers have the option of crafting helms with tinker sockets.

Hi, dumb question but here goes:
Is it possible to get ilvl 50 gear (Perfect for mage tower) from questing in party sync with chromie time? Me (lvl 60) and a buddy (lvl 45) did the Teron Gorefiend questline with party sync and chromie time enabled for the helmet at the end, but the item i got was ilvl 58 (still usable, but if it was a weapon for example I wouldnt ve been able to use the best enchants).
Did we do anything wrong? or working as expected?

Not sure how anyone is entering raid with chromie time active, in this case MoP active and trying to enter SoO.
I keep getting "cant enter raid during timewalking campaign" on the level 45 toon.
We have tried it both solo and in group. I have read a few blue posts stating you cant enter raid portal with chromie time active.

Can someone please explain how this is being done, would love to know what I am doing wrong.

With TWW and the scaling of TW dungeons going up to your level instead of being scaled to the level of the dungeon, I guess gearing specifically for TW is dead and it will be best to wear your current gear. Correct?
