30 Points Tailoring Mastery - This is the generic trait of all Tailoring. Its main purpose is to provide you with skill when crafting all types of Tailoring items. Many items rely on high levels of skill, so we recommend that you max this at some point in your Tailoring journey. At the very least, we recommend that you apply 20 points into this trait to unlock the next two recommendations.

30 Points Shrewd Stitchery - Inspiration is a must-have trait for most Tailors. Most high-end reagents and gear are not able to be guaranteed with skill, meaning you have to rely on Inspiration procs to craft the highest quality. Once you have this trait maxed out, you will earn a significant increase to your proc chance and you will earn the maximum amount of skill possible when you proc Inspiration. The reason why we say most instead of all, is due to your priorities. Items like Bags do not have quality meaning that Inspiration does not apply. If you are someone who is solely focusing on that market, you do not necessarily need this trait. However, at some point, you will likely want to expand into other markets which is why we still recommend this eventually.

30 Points Sparing Sewing - Resourcefulness also plays a huge part in Tailoring. Many high-end Tailors are on the same playing level in terms of skill and Inspiration chances; however, if you can save more materials by proccing Resourcefulness when crafting, you can cut down on your crafting costs. Also, many recipes like, Azureweave Expedition Pack, do not have quality and are not stackable. This means that Resourcefulness is the only viable stat that can differentiate you from others when crafting those types of items.

Unlock the Draconic Needlework Tree

Unlock either Azureweave Tailoring or Chronocloth Tailoring - This is the main step of this whole build. Once you unlock the correct Specialization tree, you will immediately be able to select a cooldown to pick. If you are someone who has many alts who will be utilizing this build, I recommend doing an even 50/50 split between the cooldown that you choose.

0-30 Draconic Needlework - If you are someone who plans on only completing this build on one toon, I recommend this route. Putting 30 points into the main-spec will allow you to unlock both cooldowns. This will prevent you from being able to upgrade your cooldowns right away, but it is important that you can produce both bolts for your high-end crafting.

Unlock either Azureweave Tailoring or Chronocloth Tailoring - Choose whatever cooldown you didn't pick last time.

30-45 Azureweave Tailoring or Chronocloth Tailoring - Allocating 15 points into one of the cooldowns will allow you to unlock the final sub-spec, which is your main goal. You will learn some inspiration and recipes while utilizing these points. You can choose to complete this step right after each other for a total of 30 points, or move onto the next step and complete one cooldown one at a time.

45-65 Azureweaving or Timeweaving - These 20 points will allow you to fully max out your cooldown potential for one type of cloth. You will gain the ability to produce more cloth per cooldown as well as lessen your cooldown timer.

65-80 Azureweave Tailoring or Chronocloth Tailoring - Choose whatever path you did not at the start and complete this same process

80-100 Azureweaving or Timeweaving

0-15 Azureweave Tailoring - Because you have multiple characters who are using this build, you can split the cooldowns between them and this will allow you to make way more bolts for less knowledge points used. Lets say you have 10 alts, you may choose to pick 5 to go the Azureweaving route while the other 5 choose Chronocloth. In the case of this build, this toon has decided to go with the Azureweaving route, the same route applies for Chronocloth with those cooldown traits. Allocating your first 15 points will allow you to unlock your final sub-spec.

15-35 Azureweaving - This final sub-spec will allow you to unlock the full potential of your cooldown for only 35 knowledge points. You will be able to produce cloth at a cheaper and faster rate.

Unlock the Tailoring Mastery Tree and the Textiles Tree

0-10 Tailoring Mastery - This will allow you to choose a sub-spec.

10-40 Sparing Sewing - This sub-spec is all about Resourcefulness. We talk about it in the Recommended Specs for all Tailors, but it will allow you to save more materials when crafting. This will ultimately cut down your crafting costs when making bags by a lot.

40-45 Textiles - This will allow you to choose a sub-spec.

45-75 Embroidery - This tree focuses on the production of Embroidered Goods, including bags. What we are truly after in this specialization is the ability to use Optional Reagents once it is maxed out. Shimmering Embroidery Thread is an Optional Reagent that can be used when crafting bags that will allow you to save up to 25% more mats whenever you proc Resourcefulness. This will save you a ton of gold. Since you are a tailor, you will have the ability to either craft these threads yourself or simply buy them off the Auction House.

Unlock the Textiles Tree

0-5 Textiles - This will allow you to choose a sub-spec. Ultimately in this guide, I recommend choosing the spinning path first; however, you can choose to go weaving first if you plan to focus on Bolt crafting

5-35 Spinning - This sub-spec is all about spinning and creating Thread. You will unlock the ability to gain Rousing reagents from unravelling the various types of tattered cloth as well as improving your crafting stats for this unravelling process.

35-45 Textiles - Putting 10 more points into this main spec will allow you to unlock a second sub-spec. You will want to choose Weaving.

45-65 Weaving - This tree focuses on the production of Tailoring Bolts. You will increase your multicraft and inspiration for these items which will ultimately reduce your crafting cost. This tree is perfect for someone who is also completing our first tailoring build, the Cooldown Master.

Unlock the Garmentcrafting Tree

0-5 Garmentcrafting - This will allow you to choose a sub-spec. This is where you will make a big decision on what sort of armor piece you want to specialize or unlock.

5-15 Outfits - Since we are focusing on Chestplates, we will choose the Outfits sub-spec to specialize into. Depending on the armor piece you are going for, you may choose Outerwear or Embellishments. Allocating 10 Knowledge Points into this sub-spec will allow you to unlock the final spec of the tree.

15-25 Robes - This final sub-spec allows you to unlock the recipe of the gear slot you are looking for. Using 10 Points in this final-spec will also increase your skill when crafting this specific gear slot.

Unlock the Tailoring Mastery Tree

0-10 Tailoring Mastery - This will allow you to choose a sub-spec. This is where you want to unlock your specific sub-spec for this build.

10-60 Cloth Collection - This sub-spec will be what you want to focus all of your Knowledge Points into. You will unlock the ability to gather more and more cloth from Humanoids and ultimately learn the ability to gather full Wildercloth Bolts from enemies as well.

I won't lie; I made a MASSIVE lapse in judgement before seeing this article release. I instantly assumed the talent points could be reset, so I just did a simple order starting with maxing the first tree. I sit down and read this today and now my end goal, crafting the high tier PvP gear, seems near impossible. I'm already tailoring level ~78 but I haven't reached the furtherst tree to craft said PvP gear because I went into draconian needle work to progress my tailoring since well,, there was no other way to progress until rep 15+ without spending thousands upon thousands of gold for mats.

Now I'm sitting here staring at my terrible talent tree with no way to reset it. /shrug

Just an FYI: Under Knowledge Point Breakdown, there are two Option 1's listed. The second one, Option 1-Alt Army should be Option 2.

i wonder if i'm using more than one toon for draconic needlework should i go for 30 points in Draconic Needlework as well or other route first? looks like the guide is incomplete about these steps :)

Guide should note that you will only get the Rousing drops benefit from Spinning in the Textiles tree when you unlock Cloth Collector from the Tailoring Mastery tree. Until you do the latter, you won't see any of the different types of cloth that can be unravelled though maybe one can buy them on the AH.

What is the normal cooldown for Azureweave and how much does Azureweaving reduce it? I can't find this info anywhere on wowhead.

These professions are sooooo confusing and I'm so scared to spend my points and the guides on wowhead just seem a bit long-winded leaving far too many questions. /sigh

Edit: It seems it is 1/day and you can improve to 2/day and then 3/day with Azureweaving skill node. It will save up to 10 days worth so you can miss days and then only have to craft once every 10 days. So after 10 days at max points in Azureweaving it will say "Crafts Available: 30 of 30" in your Azureweave Bolts recipe.

Edit 2: I'm not sure how it works. Yesterday I had 26 of 30 crafts available, and today it's 28 of 30. So it looks like only 2/day?

I would actually recommend some other strategies. Most of us take our Tailoring with Enchanting and I think its important to realize how interconnected the two are.

If you want to focus on enchanting then you want to spec your tailoring for maximum disenchant output. The cheapest recipe to make is the Surveyor's Cloth Bands so you want to maximize your ability to craft those in the highest quantities for the lowest cost. Take the cloth gathering, sparing sowing and any other talents that give resourcefullness towards this craft like tailoring mastery, garmentcrafting, and embellisments. You might consider taking Spinning as well if you are having trouble keeping your thread supply up.

If you want to focus on Tailoring then spec your enchanting into insight of the blue and draconic disenchantment to maximize the amount of shards you can crank out for vibrant wildercloth bolts.

Adding for those who are levelling DF professions in later expansions. Splintered Spark of Awakening can still be earned in later expansions for transmog and levelling dragonflight professions. The flightstone requirement has been removed. I can confirm they can be earned per-boss by running Dawn of the Infinites, and I assume that other DF dungeons also drop them on bosses, but at a minimum, Dawn of the Infinites has 8 bosses, which would net four sparks per run, which I believe can be done once per week.
