Shadowlands Abilities Earned Between 50 and 60

Clash - level 54 - You and the target charge each other, meeting halfway then rooting all targets within 6 yards for 4 sec.

Celestial Harmony - level 58 - While active, Yu'lon and Chi'Ji heal up to 6 nearby targets with Enveloping Breath when you cast Enveloping Mist, healing for over 6 sec, and increasing the healing they receive from you by 10%.

Ancient Arts - level 56 - Reduces the cooldown of Paralysis by 15 sec.

Brewmaster

Touch of Death - level 52 - Touch of Death reduces delayed Stagger damage by 200% of damage dealt.
Zen Meditation - level 56 - Zen Meditation is no longer cancelled by moving.
Mighty Stomp - level 58 - Purifying Stagger damage while Niuzao is active increases the damage of Niuzao's next Stomp by 25% of damage purified, split between all enemies.

Mistweaver

Touch of Death - level 52 - Touch of Death increases the Monk's Physical damage by 15% for 10 sec.
- level 54 - Expel Harm can be cast during Soothing Mist, and additionally heals the Soothing Mist target.

Windwalker

Touch of Death - Touch of Death spawns 3 Chi Spheres, granting 1 Chi when you walk through them.
Flying Serpent Kick - Reduces the cooldown of Flying Serpent Kick by 5 sec.
Empowered Tiger Lightning - Xuen strikes your enemies with Empowered Tiger Lightning every 4 sec, dealing 10% of the damage you have dealt to those targets in the last 4 sec.

Blizzard's Monk Patch Notes

Provoke is now learned at level 9 (was 14).
Roll (Rank 2) is now learned at level 14 (was 9).

Classes: Monk

General

Leg Sweep radius increased to 6 yards (was 5 yards).
Monks Peak of Serenity Enlightenment buff now grants rested experience (was experience bonus).
Spinning Crane Kick now capped at 6 targets.
All Monks can now use the following abilities:
Expel Harm – Expel negative chi from your body, healing you and dealing 10% of the amount healed as Nature damage to an enemy within 8 yards. Now has 15 second cooldown.
Spinning Crane Kick – Spin while kicking in the air, dealing Physical damage over 1.5 seconds to enemies within 8 yards.
Touch of Death – You exploit the enemy target's weakest point, instantly killing creatures if they have less health than you. Deals damage equal to 35% of your maximum health against players and stronger creatures under 15% health and has a 3 minute cooldown.
Fortifying Brew – Turns your skin to stone for 15 seconds, increasing your current and maximum health by 15% and reducing all damage you take by 15%.

Brewmaster

New Passive: Shuffle – Niuzao's teachings allow you to shuffle during combat, increasing the effectiveness of your Stagger by 75%. Shuffle is granted by attacking enemies with your Keg Smash, Blackout Kick, and Spinning Crane Kick.
New Ability: Celestial Brew (replaces Ironskin Brew) – A swig of strong brew that coalesces purified chi escaping your body into a celestial guard, absorbing damage. Additionally, Purifying Stagger damage increases absorption by up to 200%. Stacks up to 10 times at 20% absorption per stack.
Invoke Niuzao, the Black Ox is no longer a Talent and is learned by all Brewmaster Monks at level 42. Niuzao no longer taunts the target and now has a 25 second duration (was 45 seconds).
Purifying Brew now has 2 charges (was 3), no longer shares charges with other Brews, and has the additional effect – Increases the absorption of your next Celestial Brew by up to 200%, based on your current level of Stagger.
Expel Harm now has an additional effect – Cooldown is reduced by 10 seconds and draws in the positive chi of all your Healing Spheres to increase the healing done by Expel Harm.
Blackout Strike renamed to Blackout Kick and now grants Shuffle for 3 seconds.
Keg Smash now reduces Brew recharge time by 3 seconds (was 4 seconds) and has an additional effect – Grants Shuffle for 5 seconds.
Spinning Crane Kick has an additional effect – Dealing damage with Spinning Crane Kick grants Shuffle for 1 second, and causes your Gift of the Ox healing spheres to travel towards your location.
Blackout Kick can now be used while dual-wielding weapons.
Breath of Fire and Keg Smash now deal reduced damage on secondary targets.
Fortifying Brew cooldown is now 6 minutes (was 7 minutes).
The following Talents have been adjusted.
New Talent: Exploding Keg – Hurls a flaming keg at the target location, dealing Fire damage to nearby enemies and causing them to miss their melee attacks for the next 3 seconds.
New Talent: Celestial Flames (replaces Guard) – Drinking from Brews has a 30% chance to coat the Monk with Celestial Flames for 6 seconds, increasing the damage reduction of Breath of Fire by 5%. Spinning Crane Kick also causes a Breath of Fire on targets.
Light Brewing has been redesigned – Reduces the cooldown of Purifying Brew and Celestial Brew by 20%.
Black Ox Brew now also resets the cooldown of Celestial Brew.
Special Delivery now procs off of all your Brews.
Rushing Jade Wind now capped at 6 targets.

Mistweaver

The following Talents have been adjusted.
Invoke Chi-Ji, the Red Crane has been redesigned – Invoke Chi-Ji, the Red Crane, and become immune to movement impairing effects for 25 seconds. Chi-Ji kicks up Gusts of Mists with your Blackout Kick, Rising Sun Kick, and Spinning Crane Kick, healing up to 2 allies, and reducing the cost and cast time of your next Enveloping Mist by 33%, stacking 3 times. Chi-Ji now assists the Monk and deals melee damage.
Mana Tea’s duration has been reduced to 10 seconds (from 12 seconds) and it no longer has a global cooldown.

Windwalker

Fists of Fury can now be used while holding a two-handed weapon.
Touch of Death now has a 3 minute cooldown (was 2 minutes).
Invoke Xuen, the White Tiger is no longer a Talent and is learned by all Windwalker Monks at level 42. Its duration has been increased to 24 seconds (was 20 seconds).
Spinning Crane Kick damage is increased by up to 6 Mark of the Crane debuffs inflicted upon targets (was 5).
Storm, Earth and Fire no longer has a global cooldown.
Fists of Fury now capped at 6 targets.
The following Talents have been adjusted.
Serenity and Energizing Elixir no longer have a global cooldown.
Rushing Jade Wind now capped at 6 targets.

PvP Talent changes:

Reverse Harm has been redesigned – Now a passive that increases the healing done by your Expel Harm by 100% and causes it to generate 2 Chi when used.
Pressure Points has been redesigned – Touch of Karma’s cooldown is reduced by 60 seconds when a player is killed by Touch of Death.

NEW Expel Harm Expel negative chi from your body, healing for (120% of Spell power) and dealing 10% of the amount healed as Nature damage to an enemy within 8 yards.
Windwalker: Generates 0 Chi
Mistweaver: May be cast during Soothing Mist, and will additionally heal the Soothing Mist target.
Brewmaster: Draws in the positive chi of all your Healing Spheres to increase the healing of Expel Harm.
Reverse Harm: Generates 1 Chi

Fists of Fury Pummels all targets in front of you, dealing damage over 4 sec to your primary target and damage over 4 sec to up to 5 other targets. Can be channeled while moving.

Fortifying Brew Turns your skin to stone, increasing your current and maximum health by 2015%, and reducing damage taken by 2015% for 15 sec.

Vivify Causes a surge of invigorating mists, healing the target for (101141% of Spell power).

Monk Talent Changes for Shadowlands

Chi Burst Hurls a torrent of Chi energy up to 40 yds forward, dealing (46% of Attack power) Nature damage to all enemies, and (67.567594.5% of Attack power) healing to the Monk and all allies in its path.
Brewmaster: Casting Chi Burst does not prevent avoiding attacks.
Windwalker: Chi Burst generates 1 Chi per enemy target damaged, up to a maximum of 2.

Chi Torpedo Torpedoes you forward a long distance and increases your movement speed by 30% for 10 sec, stacking up to 2 times.

Chi Wave A wave of Chi energy flows through friends and foes, dealing (14.2015% of Attack power) Nature damage or (3042% of Attack power) healing. Bounces up to 7 times to targets within 25 yards.

Brewmaster Monk Shadowlands Class Change Highlights

Can now choose between 1H and 2H weapons again.

NEW Shuffle: Increases the amount of physical damage that’s staggered when the Monk uses one of several abilities including Blackout Kick (previously called Blackout Strike), Keg Smash, and Spinning Crane Kick.

NEW Celestial Brew: absorbs damage based on the imbiber’s attack power.

NEW Clash: causes both the Monk and their target bull-rush each other and—at the epicenter of the conflict—root their opponent for short duration.

NEW Celestial Flames (Talent): Drinking brews has a moderate chance to grant Celestial Flames, which slightly increases Breath of Fire’s damage reduction and spreads its periodic damage effect to targets struck with Spinning Crane Kick.

NEW Exploding Keg (Talent): Immolates enemies on impact and blinding them for a brief period of time.

Invoke Niuzao, the Black Ox is now baseline. Also reworked - Niuzao also deals additional damage based on Stagger damage purified.

NEW Touch of Death: Will also instantly kill any creature with less health than the Monk, and also clear remaining Stagger damage.

Invoke Niuzao, the Black Ox Summons an effigy of Niuzao, the Black Ox for 4525 sec. Niuzao attacks your primary target, and taunts it. He also frequently Stomps, damaging all nearby enemies for (16.38% of Attack power). While active, 25% of damage delayed by Stagger is instead Staggered by Niuzao.

NEW Mighty Stomp Rank 2 Purifying Stagger damage while Niuzao is active increases the damage of Niuzao's next Stomp by 25% of damage you have recently purified, split between all enemies.

Keg Smash Smash a keg of brew on the target, dealing (85.995% of Attack power) damage to all enemies within 8 yds and reducing their movement speed by 20% for 15 sec. Deals reduced damage beyond 5 targets.
Grants Shuffle for 5 sec and reduces the remaining cooldown on your Brews by 4 sec3 sec.

Mastery: Elusive Brawler Each time you are hit by a melee attack, or hit with Blackout StrikeBlackout Kick, you gain stacking 8.0% increased Dodge chance until your next successful Dodge.
Also increases your attack power by 8.0%.

Purifying Brew Clears 50% of your damage delayed with Stagger.

Brewmaster Monk Talent Changes for Shadowlands

Black Ox Brew Chug some Black Ox Brew, which instantly refills your Energy, and your Ironskin Brew and Purifying Brew charges, and resets the cooldown of Celestial Brew.

Blackout Combo Blackout StrikeBlackout Kick also empowers your next ability:
Tiger Palm: Damage increased by 100%.
Breath of Fire: Cooldown reduced by 3 sec.
Keg Smash: Reduces the remaining cooldown on your Brews by 2 additional sec.
Ironskin BrewCelestial Brew: Pauses Stagger damage for 3 sec.

NEW Celestial Flames Drinking from Brews has a 30% chance to coat the Monk with Celestial Flames for 6 sec.
While Celestial Flames is active, Spinning Crane Kick applies Breath of Fire and Breath of Fire reduces the damage affected enemies deal to you by an additional 5%.

Eye of the Tiger Tiger Palm also applies Eye of the Tiger, dealing (28.1736% of Attack power) Nature damage to the enemy and (28.1736% of Attack power) healing to the Monk over 8 sec. Limit 1 target.

NEW Exploding Keg Hurls a flaming keg at the target location, dealing (189% of Attack power) Fire damage to nearby enemies and causing them to miss their melee attacks for the next 3 sec.

Light Brewing Reduces the cooldown of Ironskin Brew and Purifying Brew and Celestial Brew by 3 sec20%and increases their maximum number of charges by 1.

Rushing Jade Wind Summons a whirling tornado around you, causing damage over 6 sec to up to 6 enemies within 8 yards.

Special Delivery Drinking Ironskin or Purifying Brewfrom your Brews has a 100% chance to toss a keg high into the air that lands nearby after 3 sec, dealing (32.76% of Attack power) damage to all enemies within 8 yards and reducing their movement speed by 50% for 15 sec.

Summon Black Ox Statue Summons a Black Ox Statue at the target location for 15 min, pulsing threat to all enemies within 20 yards. You may cast Provoke on the statue to taunt all enemies near the statue.

Mistweaver Monk Shadowlands Class Change Highlights

Invoke Yu’lon, the Jade Serpent is now baseline.

NEW Touch of Death: Now instantly kills any creature with less health than the Mistweaver Monk and will spawn Healing Spheres for their allies.

Invoke Chi-Ji, the Red Crane (Talent) Reworked. Talent strengthens the player's Physical damage moderately and healing their allies for part of the damage inflicted on enemies. Chi-Ji also makes Mistweaver Monks immune to movement-impairing abilities so that they can constantly be on the move during combat.

NEW Invoke Yu'lon, the Jade Serpent Summons an effigy of Yu'lon, the Jade Serpent for 25 sec. Yu'lon will heal injured allies with Soothing Breath, healing the target and up to 5 allies for (180%2 allies for (105% of Spell power) over 4 sec.4.5 sec.
Cost: 5.0% of base mana

Life Cocoon Encases the target in a cocoon of Chi energy for 12 sec, absorbing damage and increasing all healing over time received by 50%.
HoT increase moved to Rank 2

NEW Life Cocoon Rank 2 Life Cocoon increases all healing over time received by 50%.

Renewing Mist Surrounds the target with healing mists, restoring (161225% of Spell power) health over 20 sec.
If Renewing Mist heals a target past maximum health, it will travel to another injured ally within 20 yds.
Cost: 2.52.2% of base mana

Revival Heals all party and raid members within 40 yards for (225315% of Spell power) and clears them of all harmful Magical, Poison, and Disease effects.

Soothing Mist Heals the target for (320440% of Spell power) over 8 sec. While channeling, Enveloping Mist and Vivify may be cast instantly on the target.
Level 29: Each heal has a chance to cause a Gust of Mists on the target

Thunder Focus Tea Receive a jolt of energy, empowering your next spell cast:
Enveloping Mist: Immediately heals for (200280% of Spell power).
Renewing Mist: Duration increased by 10 sec.

NEW Thunder Focus Tea Rank 2 Thunder Focus Tea can now additionally make your next Vivify have no mana cost, or reduce the cooldown of your next Rising Sun Kick by 9 sec.

Touch of Death Rank 3 Touch of Death increases the Monk's Physical damage by 0 for 8 sec.15% for 10 sec.

Invigorating Mists Rank 2 Vivify heals all allies with your Renewing Mist active for (74104% of Spell power).

Mistweaver Monk Talent Changes for Shadowlands

NEW Invoke Chi-Ji, the Red Crane Summon an effigy of Chi-Ji that kicks up a Gust of Mist when you Blackout Kick, Rising Sun Kick, or Spinning Crane Kick, healing up to 2 allies for (0.1% of Spell power), and reducing the cost and cast time of your next Enveloping Mist by 33%, stacking.
Chi-Ji's presence makes you immune to movement impairing effects.
Cost: 5.0% of base mana

Mana Tea Reduces the mana cost of your spells by 50% for 1210 sec.

Refreshing Jade Wind Summon a whirling tornado around you, causing 8.2511.6% of Spell power) * 13] healing over 9 sec to up to 6 allies within 10 yards.

Summon Jade Serpent Statue Summons a Jade Serpent Statue at the target location. When you channel Soothing Mist, the statue will also begin to channel Soothing Mist on your target, healing for (16220% of Spell power) every 1over 8 sec.

Chrysalis Reduces the cooldown of Life Cocoon by 4525 sec.

Healing Sphere Coalesces a Healing Sphere out of the mists at the target location after 1.5 sec. If allies walk through it, they consume the sphere, healing themselves for (100140% of Spell power) and dispelled of all harmful periodic magic effects.
Maximum of 3 Healing Spheres can be active by the Monk at any given time.

Surging Mist Heals the target for (128180% of Attack power) and increases the healing they take from Surging Mist by 50% for 6 sec. Stacks up to 2 times.

We're especially grateful for the many detailed bug reports that Monk testers have submitted.In this week's build, you'll see a number of updates to Monk leveling rewards. These include several spell upgrades, as well as the removal of Dual Wield and 2-handed requirements for Fists of Fury (Windwalker) and Blackout Kick (Brewmaster). We also performed a pass on all of the celestial invocation spells, adding Rank 2 upgrades for each and re-designing Invoke Yu'lon, the Jade Serpent and Invoke Chi-Ji, the Red Crane for Mistweavers.Brewmaster
Level 58 – Mighty Stomp – Rank 2

The damage of Niuzao's Stomp is now increased by 25% of the Stagger damage you have purified in the last 5 seconds.

Windwalker
Level 58 – Empowered Tiger Lightning – Rank 2

Xuen strikes your enemies with Empowered Tiger Lightning every 8 seconds, dealing 10% of damage you have dealt to those targets in the last 8 seconds.

Mistweaver
Level 34 - Invoke Yu'lon, the Jade Serpent

Mana cost increased to 5% base Mana (was 0%).
Yu'lon now idles near the Mistweaver and casts Soothing Breath on an injured target, healing the target and up to 4 nearby injured allies.
Soothing Breath gains benefit from Soothing Mist bonuses, similar to Summon Jade Serpent Statue.

Level 45 – Invoke Chi-Ji, the Red Crane

Mana cost reduced to 5% base Mana (was 10%).
Chi'Ji is now assists the Monk and deals melee damage.
While Chi'Ji is active, your Physical attacks cause Chi'Ji to heal up to 3 injured allies with a Gust of Mist, and reduce the cast time of your next Enveloping Mist by 33%, stacking 3 times.
Chi'Ji's Gust of Mist currently heals for 200% of a normal mastery heal.
Activating Invoke Chi-Ji, the Red Crane clears the Mistweaver of all movement impairing (snare, root) effects, and provides immunity to these effects for the duration.

Level 58 – Invoke Yu'lon, the Jade Serpent – Rank 2

Yu'lon and Chi-Ji now heal up to 5 nearby targets with Enveloping Breath when you cast Enveloping Mist, healing over 6 seconds, and increasing the healing they receive from you by 10%.

We've been working hard to address the many bugs that have been submitted, with a focus on those bugs that are impacting testing, and we expect to have Monk testing in a much better place with next week's build of the Shadowlands Beta (the first week of September).Our goal is to make use of the feedback we've received here and elsewhere, with respect to Covenant class abilities, core class abilities, and legendaries. New monk here. Someone please explain exactly how Expel Harm is different from Reverse Harm and I also want to know how is the Shadowlanss Touch of Death compared to the current one. The wording might confuse me to be honest. Thanks in advance for any answer!

I LOVE everything about the Brewmaster changes! Our whole approach to tanking is about to change. Having higher stagger with Shuffle almost always up, reduced purifying brew charges, and the addition to celestial brew means we really have to think about when to drink or not to drink. Not to mention I can finally use my boi Niuzao without forfeiting a necessary talent! And he's sharing my damage? Yes!

I will miss Blackout Strike (because I am a panda and our animation for it is beautiful), but I welcome a much more material arts themed skill set. Welcome to the party, spinning crane kick! Glad to have you!

Honestly cannot wait for this expansion to hit. Thrilled for new skills and relearning new and improved Brewmaster!

The changes to BrM looks amazing, but from what I have seen on the Alpha streams and general feedback on the spec, it really isn't all that great. It seems like BrM will now have a slow pace gamestyle where you often find yourself energy starved due to spinning crane kick mostly.

I love to play BrM utilising high stagger, it works well with High Tolerance. The idea of having stacks tied to purifying brew (as seen on the alpha gameplay) actually make me nervous. This would force us to press Purifying Brew on cooldown to gain the stacks required to buff Celestial Brew. The tooltip reads that Celestial Brew will be buffed based on how much stagger was purified not how many times you pressed purify. This play style really contradicts everything I know as a BrM main. I only want to press Purifying Brew when needed, not on cd.

I think they could have kept Blackout Strike for BrM. This is just a personal preference. I like the animation more.

Also, I noticed Ironskin Brew is back... it is clear that BrM is still a WIP. I hope to see more iterations on the class design soon, or at least I pray to see them.

This probably isn't the most popular opinion, but I've wanted to see a style of mistweaving that's a lot more active, and at the same time, not a playstyle that forces me to go and hit the boss in melee. I'm not feeling this current iteration, it just feels like the range playstyle is boring, and the melee one is implemented so half-assedly compared to previous iterations of the melee playstyles(mop, wod)... They also ruined what felt good about the spec at the end of Legion going into BFA...

At this point I just really want them to either rework the spec entirely, or replace a whole lot of the talent choices with stuff that makes the spec more interesting to play. The state of mistweavers right now, and looking into shadowlands, is just utterly soulcrushing...

Is it just me, is is Blizz trying to make Monk slower than ever? We're suppose to be the most agile of class and ever since Legion (and the damn DH) we've getting nerfed on our movement abilities, now even get only ONE charge for Roll and Torpedo?

WW Monks used to be one of the most complex classes to play and even though barely anyone played them, it was very rewarding to those that did, even if their damage wasn't the greatest. Now they are still the least played class but also, there is no reason to play them anymore.

The complexity is gone, their unique abilities have been ripped off and enhanced with the Demon Hunter class, both aesthetically and functionally DH's do a better job of being a monk than a monk. Also, according to the data WW Monk's damage is arguably the worst among all classes (not specs). Blizz needs to do something here to revitalize these guys.

Either bring the complexity and diverse play style back OR improve their effectiveness OR let them reclaim something that they do better than any other class (In MoP/Draenor they had mobility and control, now most classes have more control and plenty of classes have equal or greater mobility).

Ideally, all 3 please.

Why on earth they keep the most useless talent in WW tree and it's in highest tier. Spiritual Focus is so bad on so many levels, couldn't even compete in 1st tier of talents.. Even Serenity can't compete with WDP anymore. It needs rework or new talent.

Not a fan of removing a great cooldown like 'Invoke Chi-ji,' and essentially replacing it with Way of the Crane. I run WotC in M+ all the time, and occassionally find use for Chi-ji in fights like the Triad. I don't understand why there's a forced focus on making Fistweaving the baseline style instead of leaving it to be more advanced. Without WotC I'd still use Chi-ji. Why not just make it a baseline ability and bake it into the spec instead, or meld it with Spirit of the Crane so you can choose how to spend it?

Reverse harm baseline please.... the spec feels awful without another filler chi builder and works amazingly with mastery for WW. Having it just be a pvp talent and no longer having Conflict and Strife is going to feel really bad

mana cost of expel harm on healer is way too much that its not worth pressing. please reconsider your choice. and also bring more damaging abilities to MW toolkit so we dont feel we are always behind on meters in m+ compared to other healers.

I dont really get the ToD change, in my opinion I loved being able to be able to rotate through my abilities and then deal big burst. Now we are basically getting an execute for pvp and a one shot kill on mobs lower hp then us. And as monks we're supposed to be one of the most mobile specs, but now ever since legion, we r just a bad dh.

Unleashed Power : Consume 2 Chi to reduce by 1 second the cooldown of the buggiest spell in the game.
You need to start raising question when after 3 expansions, they haven't worked up a solution for the messy ww talent tree.

EDIT : Hell, even the ID for the spell on wowhead doesn't work properly.
