Even with all the things that can be brewed, I sometimes wish I could just make a simple cup of green tea...

I have no clue weither you need to have completed but I found out that in the 5.2 patch, all trainers can teach you how to make Zen Alchemist Stone for 3 Golden Lotus. At least useful if you ever happen to sell or even misplace yours. At most… Well you get to have it for 1 less lotus.

Get rid of CD's for old content. Like primal transmutes, and eternals, and primal might. At least don't let them share the CD with Living Steel.

I don't get it.
If our flask give 320, how can we use the flask that give 1000.

And every other "main" profession, give like 480 in a stat or something
where do Alchemists get that?

You know, these jewel transmutes might actually be helpful if the damn Golden Lotus weren't so hard to come by. They rarely appear in the wild, and Enigma Seeds on the farm are a joke. Enigma seeds gave me a crop of Green Tea Leaves. Not helpful. Buying Golden Lotus on the AH, at least on my server, is like riding a roller coaster. Sometimes people will sell them in trade chat for 30g, but on the AH they are often around 70-100g.

TO ANSWER:

Yes, it is *possible* to learn something new by making something that gives no skill-points. But it's really worth it to try to get the mats for whatever recipes that will still potentially give you skill points.

HOWEVER: having had one recipe learned after about 10 grey items, I proceeded to run myself out of all my panda herbs (about 150 potions/elixirs/etc) without learning another thing.

At which point, was at 594/600 points. I needed to learn Transmute: Living Steel, Transmute: Primal Diamond, Electrified Oil, Riddle of Steel, and Greater Potion of Luck. I had Transmute Trillium (needs 10 ghost iron bars) and Master Mana Potion still orange, and all the other transmutes, and potion of luck, which all require Golden Lotus. Everything else was grey.

I looked around my alts, and found a stack of ghost iron ore. I made up 50 (not wanting to use more ore than needed, since ore is the most useful form to store), and sent them over to my alchemist.

First use, I got Living Steel. Second use, Primal Diamond. Third use, Riddle of Steel. The last 2 gave me nothing. But now, at least, I can make the 4 Living Steel for the transmute Master.

Original Post:

If you make an item that is grey, i.e. no chance of a skill point, is there still a chance to learn a new recipe?

I'm missing 3, and all I have mats for are grey items; Golden Lotus are going for 40g each, and when I'm paying for time tokens at 45k, I can't afford that. It's bad enough that the old content herbs are usually over 1g per.

I can't believe that, most of the way through WoD, this question hasn't been asked or answered.

Hello Guys

How do I learn to do the:

Transmute: Primordial Ruby
Transmute: Imperial Amethyst
Transmute: Sun's Radiance
Transmute: Vermilion Onyx
Transmute: River's Heart
Transmute: Wild Jade

what I need ?

how it should be done?

I learnt all recipies in less than 100 creations, in about 10 to 15 mins.
This included maxing out Pandaria Alchemy.
I had the slight advantage of already having lots of mats from previous alts which enabled me to only create upskilling items.

Important note : you must have a Zen Alchemist Stone to be able to learn new recipies.
On another alt, I reached level 51 without learning new recipies and without a Zen Alchemist Stone. With the Zen Alchemist Stone in my bags, the new recipies came through.
