Marksmanship Hunter Raid Tips and Tricks

Move into Annihilation when they appear.

Move away from the group (or to assigned spot) with Decimation.

This fight should be fairly trivial for MM Hunters. As such, use your time to focus on performing your Single Target Rotation while planning out movement for Decimation and Annihilation.

Use Disengage to quickly get to Annihilation.

Use Aspect of the Turtle to soak Annihilation on mythic, avoiding knockback and damage.

Don't stand in fire.

Stack to help with Weight of Darkness.

Spread when you have Enflamed.

Stack to help with Siphoned.

In Mythic, MM hunters are good candidates to help damage the fire dog regardless of what their debuff is, when this is needed to help evenly distribute damage between the two dogs.

Pay attention to raid timers to avoid having to move to break your Aimed Shot casts.

Group under Felshield when Fusillade hits.

Interrupt Pyroblast if your melee are bad.

Spread for Shock Grenade.

While top DPS can be had by spamming AoE, this may or may not be useful to your raid team. Check with your raid leader to see what your damage priorities should be.

In most raids, bats shouldn't live long enough to cast with an Aimed Shot most of the time, but you can hit them with Multi-/Marked shots to buff your boss damage.

Be ready to disengage quickly from Shock Grenade into the Felshield when they occur back-to-back.

Freezing Trap will interrupt blade storms, if you don't feel like moving, leave one at your feet.

Don't stand in Collapsing World.

Jump through the portals if assigned to.

Kill the demons.

If your raidleader will let you, you can stand well out of range of the Collapsing World on normal/heroic, and just kill stuff

Disengage in and out of portals. Not so much because you need to, just because it looks cool.

Go wherever you're told.

Maybe try some CC if something is getting away?

You can shoot the bats when they're way up in the air. Even if you're not in a "bat group", feel free to loose some arrows on them while travelling between platforms.

Remember you can hit multi-/marked shots while flying/gliding with the extra action button.

Don't stand near anyone with Sleep Canister.

Don't run over stuff when crossing the bridge.

Don't point Charged Blasts at people (it's rude to point).

Stack as close as possible to pulse grenades, to overlap their triggering radii.

You can use Turtle to set off traps for your team on the bridge, but you'll still get knockbacks and stuns.

Soak Annihilation.

Don't get hit by Ruiner.

Only damage things that can take damage (Fel Reavers or Boss, as appropriate).

Save CDs if possible to use immediately when Fel Reavers come out.

Watch raid timers for Ruiner to plan movement accordingly, so you don't need to break aimed shot casts.

If your healers don't specifically request you stack during the transition phase, take advantage of your full range so you don't have to move between Fel Reavers.

Point Marked Prey out of the group.

Move out of the group with Necrotic Embrace.

Avoid using

In the lower phase, have Disengage ready to cut short getting knocked back after helping soak Dark Mark, so you can get back to DPSing, rather than flying through the air. You can also use Disengage to change direction mid air if the knock-back was sending you into the lava.

You can use Disengage to jump into or out of the green lava to avoid the purple tornadoes. You can even sit in the lava and cast for a couple seconds, if really desperate.

Concentrate fire on specific adds with your team when they're casting Machinations of Aman'Thul.

Stay in the safe zones during storms

Because the two active bosses have to be spread out, using Sidewinders can give you an advantage over most classes that can't cleave damage that far. Just be sure to position yourself at the right angle that you're always hitting both bosses, and as many adds as possible during the add phase.

Freezing Trap and Tar Trap work on the Torments of Norgannon.

When storms overlap with Fury of Golganneth, take one of the far away safe zones to leave the closer zones for the support classes that don't have as long of a range as you.

Stack for Taeshalach Technique.

Freezing Trap can hold back the adds, if your team needs.

Plan double Aimed Shot uses around Taeshalach Technique, so you're using Arcane or Marked Shots while getting knocked back.

Get orbs while you're dead in the later phases.

Kill the appropriate adds to take advantage of debuffs in the add phase.

Take Soulbomb and Soulburst to their designated markers.

Meh, just read a guide, there's too much going on to list quick easy rules for the fight.

Remember you get 3 potions in this fight, be sure to use your second before everyone dies.

Grab Gifts of the Sky, avoid Gifts of the Sea.

Use speed bursts like Posthaste to move out with Soulbomb and Soulburst so you can stay in range of your healers as long as possible, even if your extra-long MM range will let you DPS from your assigned marker.

In later phases, if the pull isn't going well, use Turtle to avoid damage and move far away with Soulbomb and Soulburst.

There are essentially two build for Antorus, one for Pure Single Target (Lone Wolf / True Aim / Patient Sniper / A Murder of Crows / ), and one for AoE with a Priority Target (Lone Wolf / Lock and Load / Patient Sniper / Volley / ). There are ways to customize your talents and legendaries more for even more AoE (like taking Explosive Shot instead of Patient Sniper), but it's not advisable in very many raiding situations.

Similarly, there are essentially two builds for legendaries -

Marksmanship Hunter Tomb of Sargeras Boss by Boss Recommended Builds and Tips

Hide behind Infernal Spike to avoid being hit by Infernal Burning.

Avoid destroying Infernal Spike when targeted with Crashing Comet.

Aim Shattering Star to collide with multiple Infernal Spike to decrease damage taken.

This fight should be fairly trivial for MM Hunters on Normal and Heroic Mode. As such, use your time to focus on performing your Single Target Rotation while planning out movement for mechanics.

Have Disengage ready to jet you behind or away from pillars.

Confess when at full Torment to collect Remnants of Hope from Belac's cage and alleviate Unbearable Torment.

Avoid attacking Atrigan and Belac during Bone Saw and Fel Squall respectively, so you don't get additional Torment.

Be careful with Volley during Bone Saw and Fel Squall. Toggle off temporarily if your raid does not have the two bosses spread out enough.

Similarly, with , avoid putting up right before Bone Saw or Fel Squall to avoid generating extra Torment.

When the boss casts Draw In , make sure to move to avoid being hit by moving pools of Drenching Waters.

Move out of the impact point of Drenching Slough to avoid taking unnecessary damage or stacks of Drenched.

Feign Death to remove fixate from adds in a tight spot.

Disengage will take you over the green puddles during Draw In if you're desperate.

Slay Abyss Stalkers at the correct time to ensure that Concealing Murk is available for Slicing Tornado.

Stand behind Concealing Murk to prevent being struck by Slicing Tornado.

Bring Befouling Ink to the big fish.

During its phase, stand next to Befouling Ink, then step in, Disengage to the outer circle to feed the whale, then use post hast to get back out quickly.

Disengage reportedly lets you skip through the tornados, but there shouldn't be any occasion when you need to.

If targeted by Rapid Shot move to the light side of the moon to clear stacks of Umbra Suffusion.

If affected by Moon Burn move to the other side of the moon to trigger Astral Purge.

Defeat the Moontalon before Deathly Screech becomes lethal.

If Umbra Suffusion or Lunar Suffusion stacks get too high, move to the other side of the moon to clear them.

Hunters have great respect for other hunters, and don't like to kill each other, so take a moment to think about how awesome these Huntresses are... then go ahead and kill them.

If you are using , try to use it about 14 seconds before Moontalon dies so you can get CD resets on it; this also helps ensure you're doing max damage to it between 25% and 0% HP.

If afflicted with Soulbind , quickly move to another similarly afflicted player in the opposing realm.

Manage the final explosion from Shattering Scream to ensure it removes applications of Bonecage Armor.

If in the corporeal realm, use all of your AoE burst while the adds are above 50% health.

You can Disengage to quickly get over the purple lines of silence and drop your own purple line of silence far out of the way.

Dive into the pit when Unstable Soul is about to expire.

Collect stacks of either Creator's Grace or Demon's Vigor by touching Fragments that match your Infusion during Watcher's Wrath.

Quickly break Titanic Bulwark and interrupt Wrath of the Creators .

Use Disengage to jump into the big hole at the last possible minute.

It can be tempting to use Aspect of the Cheetah or Posthaste to run through the orbs ahead of everyone else. Don't do this. You'll be kicked out of the hunter club and forced to go play a support class.

Move away from the Fallen Avatar while he casts Rupture Realities.
