Interesting information. I am just now leveling mining and did not know that I would need to do this. I thought that it was really helpful to say what items you would need to bring in order to complete the quest so that no one has to go a second time. Also good advice about attuning to MC while you are going.

A few things worth mentioning, mostly fun facts.

First, access to Dark Forge and Black Anvil in BRD is now significantly easier. Using Mole Machine, you can teleport to Grim Guzzler from anywhere in the world. Once inside, just follow the tips given in this guide. Also, if you don't have Mole Machine, and you couldn't find anyone who does have it, when you fly to BRD and enter it, on your right you'll see a mole machine used as a portal to 2 other mole machines in the instance. If you use it to go "just past Grim Guzzler", you'll end up, well, just past Grim Guzzler :P Surprising, eh? ;) That will remove any need to micromanage mobs in Grim Guzzler to get back door opened.

Second, even without all these mole machines, getting to Black Anvil at high level was faster if you went left as soon as you enter the instance, and pass through the door. Once you're at Dark Iron Highway, turn right and go forward till you reach Black Anvil. That simple :) Using the mechanism in East Garrison will disable this road, closing the big gates, which also enables you to travel from East to West Garrison. I guess this matters no longer, since mole machines can teleport you all around the instance

Third, another option of reaching Dark Forge. Maybe not that important, because killing those 7 dwarves is now fast enough anyway, but this option has great historical and sentimental value :) Yeah, I'm talking about "lava jumping". Once you're outside Grim Guzzler, or once you enter through mole machine "just past Grim Guzzler", or once you reach Black Anvil, you can jump down into lava. In the distance you'll notice a span/bridge across lava lake. Swim to it. Lava is shallow, in some places you can even walk while in it, and on some places you can even completely avoid contacti with it. A few fire elementals you can encounter are easily dealt with, and you get some minor damage from lava. Back in the vanilla days, this used to be practiced by players who wanted to solo reach Dark Forge for any reason. With some fire elementals hiding in the lava, with bigger aggro radius and lava ticks actually hurting (that could be avoided with careful jumping), it was an accomplishment.

And last, in the past players who wanted to learn to smelt Enchanted Elementium could not simply loot the recipe. A priest in the raid had to Mind Control that goblin, target the miner they want and manually teach the player that smelting ability (it was a spell a goblin could use). I'm afraid I can't give any more details, like when it was removed and replaced with a smithing plan, does it still work, could one priest with a single Mind Cotrol teach any number of miners that skill etc etc.

Should note that Dark Iron is also used in the creation of Sulfuras, Hand of Ragnaros.

20 Bars (160 Ores) are needed to craft Sulfuron Hammer.

This was said many times, many ways, but it took me a few hours to go through the motions. Being a level 61, not much is said about what you'll encounter along the way.

So here's how I got to the 7.

I start at the blackrock depths instance. (lowest level of blackrock mountain, no attunement required) There are about 5 mooks you'll pass getting to the instance, Level ~50ish.

Enter the instance, take the mole machine to the right, just past the guzzler. Here's where I ran into trouble as a 61. there are 6 ~53 mobs you'll aggro . Kill them, take the first tunnel to the right. You'll pass a friendly Tauren in the hall.

The next chamber has a miniboss (ambassador flameslash), who summons mini flame elementals. you can avoid him completely if you hug the left wall.
This leads you to Mold Foundry. you can take the high road or low road, either way there are mobs to fight. (Golems and arcanesmiths) If you have to backtrack later, the low road is easier.

Head to the right of the circular chamber, down the steps. Through the door, this is the chamber of the Seven.

FOR THE LOVE OF SYLVANNAS DON'T ATTACK ANYONE

My guild mate ran me for about an hour till we got here, then killed the guy you need to talk to.

Second dwarf on your right is Gloom'rel. Have your 20 gold bars, 10 truesilver bars, and 2 star rubies ready. Talk to him, talk to the chalice, then talk to him again. Poof. you've got smelting.
Here's another part I missed.
If you backtrack to the chamber of enchantment, where I said the miniboss was- you can kill him.
Look past him, off the middle abutment, straight out. there's an island low and left, with elementals. there's a bridge before you, and in the background, a Fire elemental in front of a rock hole.

That hole is the forge. Took me at least 3 runs with different alts to figure out that is the forge. hopefully this can save you the 4 hours it took me.
