Exorsus Raid Tools: Every Raider's Best Friend

Delving even deeper into the display and management of raid cooldowns, you have total control over how you want the addon to display the information you’ve requested of it. You have scaling options, whether you want to display spell icons next to the wording of the cooldowns you’re tracking, texture, color, font – you name it, you can control it within the Appearance tab. There are even predesigned templates to choose from to make your life that much easier. On top of all of that, you can have up to ten or as few as a single column to display various types of raid cooldowns as you’d like. When I used to tank back in the day, I would have a column specifically for tank cooldowns. It was a godsend, as I could see, at all times, exactly what cooldowns were available from anyone I was grouped or raiding with. Tanks, believe me, this is something you need to be doing.

Raid Inspect

If you’re anything like me, when I’m investing my time and energy into raiding alongside other individuals, I expect people to come prepared. Gems, enchants, being of an appropriate ilvl for the given content, and so on. The Raid Inspect tool allows you to take a sneak peek at what the other raiders in your raid are bringing to the table, and it’s amazing.

By using this aspect of ERT, you can see exactly what each person in your raid is equipped with, and whether gems and enchants have been applied to their respective pieces of armor and weaponry. But, you guessed it, it doesn’t stop there! In the same area of the addon, you can see precisely which talents are being used by each raid member, and even which Azerite Traits they’re taking advantage of. If you really wanted to get wild you can even see their stats and achievements. All of this adds up to a wonderful tool for anyone wanting to make sure the people they’re raiding with are coming prepared and doing what they can to assist in progressing through the raid to the best of their ability.

Raid Check

It’s wonderful having the ability to check gear, talents, and everything else that was just mentioned, but what about consumables? Flasks, potions, augment runes, and more? Yep, ERT allows you to do just that. Want to see who in your raid is using a flask? Click the button. What about someone utilizing a food buff? Click the button. Runes, vantus runes, and buffs? Button, button, button. With the literal click of a button, you can see exactly who came prepared and who didn’t. ERT also allows you to see potion and healthstone usage, too, so you can be certain everyone is leaving nothing on the table during a boss fight.

Another neat little feature in this section of ERT is the Ready Check tool. If you enable this option, when a ready check is prompted a new window will appear highlighting anyone missing a food buff or a flask. This allows instant feedback to anyone who may have been a bit forgetful…or lazy.

Notes

Have you ever wanted to display pertinent information to the people you raid with for a specific boss fight, or even a specific phase? The note section of the addon can do just that. Prior to pulling the boss, you can push a note to everyone’s screen (assuming they’re using ERT themselves) detailing exactly what to expect during the fight. Maybe you want to make a list of raid cooldowns to use during moments of high raid damage? Do it. What about that one insane ability that people need to watch out for in the last phase of the encounter? Make it so.

You can literally display whatever text you want via the note system of ERT, but the real beauty of this portion of the addon is the fact that you can specify so much of the information you’re wanting to display on the screens of those you’re raiding with. For example, with the click of your mouse, you can not only have ERT attach someone’s name to a note, but it color coordinates it to match their class. You can also add class icons AND ability icons throughout your note as you see fit. So that way, when you have a line in your note designated for a Monk’s Revival, you can display the spell icon for Revival. It’s magnificent. Truly.

Oh, and one last thing about the note section… Are you ready for this? I mean, seriously, are you ready for this? You can setup a single note so that certain sections of it are only visible to specific roles in your raid. Yeah, let that one sink in. In a single note, you can have a section only the tanks will see, another section only the healers will see, and another section only the DPS will see. That’s insane. It reduces clutter and guarantees you only need to see what is relevant to you and you alone. On top of that, you can even allow a specific person (or persons) to see a section of the note all on their own. Talk about customization! ERT’s note section is the best. Period.

Visual Note

Let’s go one step farther. What if you want to display an image, or a drawing to your raid? With Visual Note, you can do exactly that. Let me paint you a picture (see what I did there?). Let’s say you want to preemptively set positions for your raiders prior to pulling a boss. Within Visual Note, you can add an image of the room you’ll be fighting the boss in, and from there, you can take it in any number of directions. You can add text to the image indicating where people need to stand, and as you’d expect, the text is able to be colored as the player’s class. You can place world markers in the image to signal where they’ll be throughout the encounter. You can add shapes, lines, class icons, and plenty more.

I’m sure you can see both the potential and the raw power of the Visual Note portion of ERT. You can do a Live Session of Visual Note, too, meaning you can draw whatever it is you’re looking to get across to the raid to anyone who has their ERT open and are willing to watch. It’s features like Visual Note that truly set addons like ERT apart.

Have You Downloaded ERT Yet?!

I’ve merely touched on a portion of this addon. There’s still more to enjoy, believe it or not, but you need to install the addon and play around with it yourself to truly appreciate all that it has to offer. If you dabble in the PvE scene in World of Warcraft, I can guarantee ERT will be a boon to your day to day activities. There are very few addons that bring this much to the table, so take advantage of what it has to offer and give it a chance to win you over.
